Chapter 397

What In ‘Taur-nation’?

(Raygunnr)

While Dr. Spiritlight was going through her own personal transformation, Raygunnr felt his own body growing and fighting. Havinbe been around the Doctor for so long, he knew what to expect and that a bit of bartering was involved.  Mainly he knew that if he had an end concept in mind, the evolutionary process would be a lot easier.

There was just one problem.

Mainly the fact that Raygunnr did not have a concept in mind, and the only thing he could truly think of was the fact that in his past life he had made a side-hustle through writing what he affectionately referred to as Fantasy Erotica, which was the preferred method of reference. But The Doctor, she called it like it was, Minotaur SMUT and that classification stuck with Raygunnr.

That was why when he first began the process of transformation, he found himself going for his own modifications. The first and easiest modification was for a row of jagged and barbed horns on his head that let him store more Mana and Qi. Like a camel’s hump for his head.

To be fair, Raygunnr did have great reason for this needed change, as he often felt himself growing tired, even while drawing from the Doctor’s seemingly inexhaustible energy. His concern was that one day, he might be taken away from the doctor, or worse the Doctor might otherwise become incapacitated, and he would be left to fend for his own. In such a case, his ability to have extra reserves of energy would be paramount to his survival.

At least that was the way he justified it to himself, for if he had to have some benefit and draw back for this evolution, then manifesting an external storage device in the form of giant horns on his head was perfect. Then adding the barbs on top of the horns only made sense to keep people from trying to hunt him down and remove his horns Qi and Mana infused rhino horns. That and the idea of goring someone with his horns just sounded awesome, if he was being completely honest with himself. That was why he ultimately went with the first upgrade that he chose.

Barbed Horns of Energy Storage (15): You have developed an additional power storage and conversion module on the top of your head. Shaped like a horn and barbed for protection and additional attack power. Effect: +50% storage capacity for all energy types. +100% damage when charging or impaling an opponent with your horns.

Physical Mutation: Six giant and symmetrical horn like appendages appear on the top of your head, each capable of storing an additional type of energy.

That was the first change. The second change was for a tail, well it didn’t start as a tail. It started as an idea for having an item that could protect his backside. Just as the doctor had wings, he too had the idea that he could because why not have something that he could lash out and spin about wildly to protect his backside.

Ephemeral Tail (15): Able to summon a tangible tail-like appendage at will that is formed from aethereal energy and capable of slicing through less durable materials with ease. Effect: Summon a growing and extendable tail from your backside that can spin about and be used as an additional weapon or form of protection.

Physical Mutation: A visible tail-like appendage always appears on your backside and can be summoned forth to the real world as needed to perform different actions, including self-protective measures.

That’s when he knew he was good, as he still had twenty points and just needed one more mutation and he was good. Meaning he could finally address his biggest concern. Which being the physical embodiment of a walking non-talking killing machine, he realized that now would be the perfect time to finally address his one shortcoming, in an otherwise perfect form. Being a Teleiotís he already had the height, the weight, the overall frame that set him as a giant among the sentient races of the world. While he had originally hated the idea of being a Teleiotís, especially as he could not talk to everyone, he later loved being one. Particularly once he found that he could easily communicate with the Doctor, and others that she trained on how to speak with fellow Teleiotís.

But that meant that others who were never trained by the Doctor, or worse never wanted to be trained by the Doctor would forever be unable to hear his magnificent voice. Which was why he focused the next part of his evolution on being able to communicate with others.

As it turned out, there was a way to communicate Telepathically with all other sentient races for 30 points. The only problem was that he only had 20 points left. That’s when he found he could practically half the price to get something that went along with his being a Teleiotís perfectly. That’s right, he found that by getting an antenna modification, he could easily cut the price to a third. Then a slight modification could allow him to extend the length of the antenna and further increase the range at which he could speak Telepathically to others by double.

That’s when Raygunnr made his first true mistake of this entire process. He had worked his way backwards from how he should have gone. Rather than starting with the Telepathic antenna, he instead chose this, his most important modification last. This was when he realized that just because he had the points, and even had a few extra points to spare, 5 points to be exact, he might be too impulsive to truly take these upgrades seriously.

Adjustable Telepathic Antenna of Communication (15): A permanent antenna is attached to a point of your body that can allow you to communicate Telepathically with any other sentient race. Note: Telepathic range can be doubled by fully extending antenna from compact 2/3rd state to fully erect. Effect: A permanent antenna that can be adjusted as needed to communicate Telepathically with sentient creatures. Base communication range: Willpower X 10 Meters.

Physical Mutation: A visible and permanently attached antenna that must be mounted on the hull of the Teleiotís at all times.

With that, Raygunnr then had the giant black antenna in his hands. An antenna that was oddly both jiggly and flexible. With a quick shake of his hand, the antenna would wobble wildly for a second and then snap back into place. This was good as it seemed to imply that there was a bit of give in the material and that even after bending it down and wrapping the large antenna over his hand and letting go, it snapped right back up into place. He found that he still had a few minutes to work with the selection and make sure it was the right size, width and length. Unfortunately, Raygunnr spent the first half of his allotted time by waving the antenna around and whipping it around wildly like a rubbery baton. A rubbery baton that would always go back to its initial antenna state. He found that he could modify the length and diameter of the antenna, but found that there was a sweet spot, where if it went beyond a certain length then it both sagged and lost effectiveness in the transmission capabilities. While the diameter was also important, needing to be just big enough for his mechanical hand to wrap around completely. Too small and it would not transmit thoughts clearly, too wide and it would feel like he was screaming his thoughts at others, while this size was just right.

At the time the adjustment window was complete, the purchase went through and was apparently permanent. There was just one problem. Raygunnr now had this permanent appendage that he had to attach to himself somewhere. Being an antenna, he first thought logically that he should try to attach it to his head. Unfortunately, his head was already being occupied by growing crystallized energy cores that made that entire region impossible to attach an antenna to. From there, he tried his back, but that was also a no go. Not only would it interfere with his tail, but he got premonitions that his shiny new antenna could be cut off every time he manifested his defensive tail. That left the arms and legs, but his dense patches of crystals there made attachment in those places also impossible. His chest too was impossible due to the dense patches of crystalline growth. In an act of sheer frustration, Raygunnr found himself dragging the antenna over every inch of his body, trying to see if he could attach it anywhere, or if it would have to forever be a wobbly weapon that he had to always carry about in his hands. Or worse, if he had to attach it to the bottom of his feet. He didn’t know why but forever being forced to step on and avoid tripping over a two-foot-long antenna seemed terrible. Once again, Raygunnr realized just how right the Doctor was, when she said the system tried to embarrass the heck out of you with all these bloodline evolutions.

Afraid of the worst case scenario, of having to trip over the jiggly antenna for the rest of his life, Raygunnr took extra time and care to rub the end of the antenna over every inch of his body, all in the hopes of finding one spot that didn’t have a dense build up of crystals that could prevent the attachment of his antenna.

Then finally he found it, as a mental, spiritual, and physical clicking sound erupted letting him know that his attachment was successful. For a moment he was excited, as he didn’t have to have one antenna on one arm and not the other. He didn’t need to have the antenna on the bottom of his feet. It wouldn’t be sliced off if placed anywhere on his backside thanks to his violent spinning aethereal tail. Oddly enough the spot and location seemed oddly familiar, as if he had been used to having something in that spot all along. The location itself was nothing terribly odd, as it was symmetrical, being directly in the center of his body. From a weight distribution standpoint, the placement was perfect as all it did was give him a slightly lower center of balance. But it wasn’t until he looked down and saw the jiggly black antenna hanging from the crotch are of his hull that the true horrors of what had happened came to him.

Tragedy and horror hit Raygunnr in equal measures as he realized he had apparently and inadvertently given himself an antenna that could finally bridge the one major issue of communication. A limitation that had hindered all Teleiotís up until this point, and he had done so, but at a cost. A cost that only now did he realize his true mistake, for he had gone into this bloodline evolution with a vague goal of how to be powerful. In fact, for this, he even called upon the past memories of Arthur, one of his most powerful characters ever written. Arthur was in no small part the reason for why his minotaur series had done so well. However, he didn’t want to be Arthur. Well, no, that isn’t true, as a writer he sometimes desperately wanted to be Arthur, and only now did he realize that he was Arthur. Or at least as close to Arthur as possible. Large, strong, powerful, horns that radiated power, a dominating tail that could protect him from the back, and now this, a large black phallic symbol on his crotch.

For a second, he chuckled to himself, thinking there was no way this could be real. That surely this would be banned, especially with his proximity to the Doctor, who was still in a minor’s avatar, despite having emancipated herself. Then he realized it might still be banned, but their current location made it so it was impossible to actually cause him any true issues. Was this something that would get their server cancelled? Surely they couldn’t have a giant naked anatomically correct minotaur shaped Teleiotís running around for ratings, could they?

In this moment, Raygunnr will fully admit that he panicked. It was clear that the Doctor was in the final stages of her own transformation, which was why he decided to hurry. The first thing he did was try to yank the antenna off, but this only served to exacerbate the issue as it was now a third larger and worse, he could feel the minds of others at the periphery of his newly extended Telepathic range, thanks to his doubling the effective radius of his communication range. So, he undid the extension and suddenly the odd fuzzy sounds of minds that he could communicate with lessened a bit. Then he tried to twist, pull, flick, and rip the antenna, only to find that the rubbery material was both strong and durable.

Realizing he was now stuck with this decision, he didn’t panic, though he was close. Instead he realized that he still had five evolutionary points left to work with. This was when he realized that he could focus on form rather than anything else and meet the five-point threshold. This would be something simple, a cosmetic change to his body that wouldn’t provide any real advantages in the grand scheme of things. No extra hidden powers, no majorly broken last ditch abilities, just something would offer pure form and functionality over anything. That’s when he finally got worked with his body, imagining the solution that would help solve this awkward dilemma that he never thought would affect him.

With is his mind made up, he finally secured his last and final mutation.

Communication Antenna Tube and Port (5): A permanent and nonintrusive tunnel built along the lower side of your hull that allows for your Adjustable Telepathic Antenna of Communication to be stored seamlessly in its retracted stated. In order to fully extend your Adjustable Telepathic Antenna of Communication, antenna must be removed from protective tunneling and resting port.

Physical Mutation: A visible groove running on the lower side of your chassis that can conveniently hold your Adjustable Telepathic Antenna of Communication in its retracted form, away from prying eyes and keep you from drawing attention.

There was a moment as he felt the last modification forming on his body. With that, he tried using the new feature by taking the flexible antenna and bent it around, found the hole and bending at his knees for seemingly greater access to use both hands to direct his Antenna to its newly made tube and port he felt more awkward than he ever felt in his life. For a moment he wondered how the antenna tip was meant to fit into the port, but then a slight snicker hit his dirty mind as he remembered his line from his story, “hehe, you always wondered if it could fit, but it always did in the end.” Remembering his classic line, he knew that this was again another test on him of someone who was clearly a fan. At least he hoped they were a fan, otherwise this might make a lot more sense as an intended torture method.

Finally, with a heave and a push the rubbery tip of the antenna entered the tube and with a concerted effort he used both hands to push the tube in, the same way he would push the electric cord into that one annoying vacuum cleaner back home. The one that was supposed to be automatic, but broke the day after the warranty broke and was a perfectly good vacuum aside from the floppy black electric cord that dangled out. His mind made the comparisons as he worked, but fortunately his mind didn’t have too much time to wander as the antenna was in place in a matter of seconds. With a final push, he felt the antenna click into place, as some type of locks and protective measures were put in place to keep the Adjustable Telepathic Antenna of Communication securely fastened in place. Only once it was in place did Raygunnr relax and take in a deep sigh of relief as he realized he had managed to complete his transition before the Doctor had finished her own.

“Phew,” just as he let himself relax, that was when the system hit him.

Legendary Bloodline Evolution Process Complete: Bloodline Teleiotís Matriarch has now been forcefully changed to Aetherial Teleiotís Minotaur Matriarch. A new day and a new king of the Teleiotís has emerged, and as of now you are its champion. As its champion, granted the power of speech, your goal is now to act as the true champion you are and were always meant to be. Arise and become your greater self.

Again, reading that description, Raygunnr couldn’t help but feel that this was a fan making fun of him as he could almost swear that this was the exact line the oracle gave his own character Arthur when he fully awakened his power to conquer the lands.

As he was contemplating this, he felt the final burst of fire and heat from his hull. The residual power burning brightly in his core and feeling like he was housing a barely constrained sun, if such a thing was even possible. Scanning internally, he was happy to see that the Doctor was safe. Only after first confirming that she was in fact fine did he begin to scan her through their connected and deeply personal bond.

That’s when he found a line of data that made him chuckle. Then forgetting that he was now able to speak Telepathically to people and that his thoughts were now on blast for all to hear, not just when he spoke with his Mana Language, did he realize his mistake, but only after he said what was really on his mind.

“Oh, my God, you are A Colossal Phoenix Infused Aethereal Nympho, literally a Colossal Nympho?”

Then the world seemed to pause as the Doctor seemed to turn to him, which was when she found herself asking, “wait, you can force your thoughts into my head?”

There was a slight pause, before the Doctor continued her thought, “you better learn to stop that, quickly.”
