Content

Hey everyone! Time for another poll as we are a few weeks away from finishing up with Frieren. Here are some of our favourite picks for a more "light-hearted" anime.

Comments

Mango

APOTHECARY ALL THE WAY, and yes these are definetly more "light-hearted" than Your Lie in April XD

Mesha

Apothecaryyyyy

Nao_01

The apothecary diaries is such a good anime You will love this ! ❤️

Damion Duemling

replacing a 10/10 anime with a 10/10 anime lets gooo

H-Bomb 24

Cmon, guys. My Dress Up Darling, on top of being a hilarious and wholesome watch, is only twelve episodes. They should get through something quick before going to other, longer shows.

Wsgyan

No ranking of kings 💔💔

alexis ♡︎

i only chose my dress up darling bc it’s the shortest but you honestly can NOT miss with these choices 🥹 SO EXCITED

jmhj

+1 Apothecary!

Dylan

All these are great suggestions! I can’t vote 🤯

Eli

Horimiya 👌

Tactless91

All of them please. They are all 10/10

Saad Khalid

It has to be The Apothecary Diaries. Exceptional writing, for a slightly more mature audience than your typical anime. Second only to Frieren this year.

محمد

My dress up darling 🔛🔝

Adan Aban

These animes are good, but I'm going to go to Apothecary, there's time to watch My Dress Up Darling as a replacement 😭

Burezu

Love all of them but I would 100% watch AD for the 6th or so time lol

Ygjez

I need classroom of the elite 🕊️

Unholy

Apothecary Diaries and Frieren have been spoiling us this past half a year or so. Become a part of my favorties

RationallySassy

All great choices but Horimiya had some wonderful mature moments I didn't expect from an anime along with all the funniness.

JIMBO

Please do my dress up darling, its so goated

FatherWeeb

Daaang. Ange would love my dress up darling

noya22

Horimiya 🤩

Paden Snell

All good choices! Apothecary is top tier. Getting Apothecary and frieren both airing for the same two cour time frame has been such a treat. So watching them back to back makes sense.

MelanieRS

The Apothecary Diaries is my favorite anime of the season, so it's got to be my choice!

Omar Bautista

Horimiya is a must watch for being a such down to earth story

RPSiege

Another tough poll! My Dress Up Darling is so surprisingly wholesome Apothecary Diaries snuck in at my number two spot of favorite anime of this last season or two Horimiya is an emotionally intelligent romance that feels remarkably real I honestly don’t know what to choose

Frosstbyte

Omg yes Apothecary Diaries!

apothecary maomao

I HAVE BEEN SUMMONED 😍 Apothecary Diaries would be a brilliant replacement for Frieren, strong female mc with brilliant writing. And as someone who enjoys your discussions after every reaction, would love to hear your thoughts and theories for all the mysteries in the Apothecary Diaries (the romance and comedy is just as entertaining too 😂)

Maryam186

Apothecary Dairies of course 😊

Mango

All of these are great choices, and logically the watch order should be: My Dress Up - Apho - Horimiya (because it's pretty long nothing against it xd) BUT I really want them to react to Aphotecary while it's still fresh! And it's prety much on Frierens lvl atm.

Santiago

Dress up darling has fanservice that is quite distasteful in my opinion. Unfortunately it is recurrent and not something I think Carlie or Ange would appreciate, do keep this in mind if you guys plan to watch it. Other than that the show is superb.

Astor Lefflinker

Apothecary Diaries is such a deserving replacement for Frieren. Lots of talking points per episode.

beannieswife

apothecary diaries to continue the love for great female characters

م -

Apothecary Diaries !!😍

Fiorela .

Horimiya is fun to watch so

Elfe Carter

Don’t know any of these 🦭

Hunter03

all shit ngl

Mango
>>132782411

They did watch the OP of My Dress Up Darling on youtube, and Ange was kinda interested in it xD. I do want them to react to it but at the same time I don't because of some... stuff in it.

Hunter03

can you guys react to legends of runeterra level up animations btw

Danny

Lol they keep putting up dress up darling against some heavy hitters. I'm still voting for apothecary diaries though sorry. It's just better.

Elli

Justice for My Dress Up Darling

s l a s h

Dress up darling will literally never win

struggler sk

Apothecary diaries is soooo good

mohamed rafee

Rlly rlly want them to react to classroom of the elite! Hopefully even as a patreon exclusive🙏

Josh Knoebel
>>132782411

I don't think it would bother them. They've watched Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon, which are both significantly worse in that sense.

FTN Chicken

As much as I love Apothecary Diaries, if My Dress Up Darling loses another poll, I think I’m gonna lose my mind XD

Alex Wilson

I've never seen any of these, but I highly recommend Bakuman as a light-hearted anime. It's by the same authors as Death Note.

Sarcaamstic

I love all of them but The Apothecary Diaries is the superior choice. Let's replace one badass female character with another one !

Irv1ng

My dress up darling

lian

lowkey want to see your reaction to dress up darling coz of the crazy fan service XD besides that it is actually quite a good watch

KaijinGarou
>>132783695

I'm very sorry for your mental health but Apothecary really deserves to win this 😅

Ludz

Don't know any of them, but "light-hearted sound like "Akame ga kill" !! 🤭

Tom

God I hate Horimiya. That's all 😂

Noah

Not sure why Dress Up Darling keeps getting put in these polls. It’s clear you guys want to watch it, as you’ve mentioned a few times, but you put it up against shows that have recency bias supporting them, in this case AD. I’m sure AD is a good show, but honestly I’d prefer if you just tackled your backlog of shows you guys have mentioned you want to watch rather than doing more polls

Mochichi

APOTHECARY DIARIESS. NO BRAINER. Y'all will fall in love

Mukatutu

Guys, as much as these options are good, let's get them to react to One Piece episode 1-1000 instead, and make it 1 episode per week, it'll fly by, trust me :^)

Chelle

Apothecary Diaries is definitely one of 2023’s best animes, hope that’s next

Raul Velazquez

Damn if my dress up darling wins Ima have to activate my $10 tier again, peak!

Noctislolig
>>132783695

I get you lol. Somehow Carlie and Ange's votes never pan out how I want them to. Except for one time when it actually did but then some people complained in the comments so they changed it. I'm still a little mad about that one.

Jason

The Apothecary Diaries: better plot, more unconventional set up My Dress-Up Darling: better animation/directing, more light heart and cute, plus of coz fans service to the max (not for everyone). honestly I like both but I hate to see My Dress-Up Darling keeps losing so I vote for it.

James

I haven't seen any of these but it seems like Apothecary Diaries is the most popular in this list.

KaijinGarou

Apothecary Diaries is top and IMO not even in the same league as those other two. I'm not sure about 'light-hearted' though 😂. You're in for a surprise if you go with that mindset 😅

Sarcaamstic
>>132785301

They will 100% end up watching it. It's a nice watch but The Apothecary Diaries is far superior and that's no recency bias. I looooove Horimiya as well and I know they would too but The Apothecary Diaries is top tier.

Funji
>>132785892

It would be so cute to see you react to Horimiya 🙌

Mango
>>132785939

at least it's more "light-hearted" than Your Lie in April xd

KaijinGarou
>>132784030

Thank you, friend. He is my favorite male character in media and Maomao could have easily become my favorite female one.

KaijinGarou
>>132785939

Didn't end up watching that one, it's still on my to-do list 😅 but I believe you if you watched both. Still, I think they've got the wrong impression about Apothecary but they will get a pleasant surprise.

Mango
>>132782411

@Josh Knoebel I think the fanservice of literal high school characters is what bothers some people (understandable). While GoT and HotD has grown ups acting which makes it less bothersome.

Bibi

I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed Apothecary Diaries! Can't wait for you guys to meet Maomao 😊

Nancchi

Ooo I love Dress Up Darling as you can tell from my pic lol But Maomao deserves a big shot to be reacted to honestly.

L.C.

What are these options? Bro who gives them these poll options? This is all we get?

Kaycee

So google is no help, for the people who have seen AD is there fan service in it? I really hate fan service in anime it ruins it for me and I know AD is popular so I was thinking of watching it. I don’t even know what it’s about except the main character is a woman lol

bebe

carlie and ange definitely not want me to leave patreon lol apothecary diaries ftw!!

HansCent

Whoever guided the votes toward ‘My Dress Up Darlin’ & Horimiya, AFTER ‘Your Lie in April’ is a genius ! This channel is in good hands!

KaijinGarou

Apothecary's openings are all bangers too! Well, the only two it got 😅

Ray

Apothecary Diaries is superior!

Mango
>>132789584

They show mens abs more than womens chest if that helps xd. But seriously it really has minimal REALLy minimal fanservice.

Saad Khalid
>>132785301

Saying Apothecary Diaries is winning because of recency bias is mad cap. Dress up Darling is just a well made romcom with over the top titty flashing. Apothecary diaries is a well written detective procedural with great characters and a lot of thought put into depicting the harsher realities of living in feudal China as a commoner.

Noah
>>132785301

Whatever they end up doing, it is what it is, but I would like them to watch what they want a bit more often like they did Frieren and Solo Leveling.

정빈 이

Vote for My dress up darling! I so want to see their reaction of this! I think its going to be hilarious!

ONEEIGHTEEN

DAMN. these are all good picks

Kunj Shah
>>132789584

This may sound like a dumb question but what exactly do you consider fan service? Because I would like to say no I personally don't believe there is any fan service, or if there is it is minimal and has relevance to the plot or characters. But we may have different definitions of what that entails

Michalovesanime
>>132789584

Even when the character's are well build to say, it has a point in the story.. Its not necessarily in there for fanservice... It all is part of the world building and social structure. Thats why I hope it wins ,as much as I liked my dress up, theres so much unnecessary and lowkey creepy ( seeing the age of the characters ) fanservice. A bit of it makes sense due to the type of story but it took me out of the show quite a few times .

Tom
>>132785011

I watched 11 eps then dropped it from annoyance and boredom, I could go into all the things I thought sucked but who cares.

JAMES D'ALESSANDRO

3 of my top ten anime in one poll....dam...this is tough....it's been a minute since I watched a My Dress Up Darling reaction...and it's the shortest one in this poll.....can you just do all 3? To be honest...even Though Frieren and Apothecary are still in their first season...they might pass Kagyua Sama ans Slime as my top 2 anime ever. I will be happy with any of these 3 though

Kaycee
>>132789584

Random titty and panty shots that are there for no reason. Especially when they zoom in and linger on said shots. Boob physics that don’t make sense (excessive bouncing). When it shows women being in no clothes for no other reason but for fan service lol I think there’s a character in fire force who is constantly falling out of her clothes idk stuff like that. Basically what they did to Mitsuri in demon slayer if you’ve seen that. (I still love demon slayer but the fan service got kind of wild).

josephocenada

Wonder when they'll start One Piece? I like BoldCast format. They are doing 2 episodes every 2 days so basically just 1 episode per day, no big deal to start it right? 😉😅 though it will take them around 3 years to catchup (skipping fillers)

Robert F

I'm not familiar with any of these so I'll abstain from voting on this one, but hope y'all enjoy whichever ends up getting picked! On the other completely not light-hearted side of the spectrum, I'd be really interested to see you guys react to Heavenly Delusion someday. It's a relatively short watch (only 13 episodes thus far) that's heavy on the theory-crafting/mystery aspect.

Kunj Shah
>>132789584

Okay yea so if that’s the case like I said personally I wouldn’t consider the show to have fan service, there are definitely no crazy jiggle physics or panty shots, the most you see are some well endowed women or some buff guys but again usually there’s relevance to that. I agree with @michalovesanime, I want to keep things spoiler free for you and others so I’d suggest watching the first maybe 5 minutes of the first episode (or the whole thing obviously if you enjoy it) and if anything within that first 5 minutes makes you uncomfortable then you may not enjoy the show, but if not then I don’t think you’d have any issues going forward

Crytica

All three are good picks. But I would go with The Apothecary Diaries because of the three I had the most fun with that one. If I can add one, idk if that is allowed, then I would go with Overlord. It has 4 seasons already and it is an interesting world building experience in the literal sense. Also it scratches the isekai/fantasy itch!

apothecary maomao
>>132789584

As someone who's put off by fanservice just as much, AD only has a few; it's more to emphasise the setting/environment of the story. So minimal it's easy to ignore, and majority of it is actually matter-of-fact commentary from the female mc, not like some creepy/distasteful oggling. for a story with references to brothels & palace harems, AD has way less/milder fanservice than some set-in-highschool stories tbvh

Saku
>>132789584

I don't like unnecessary fan service either, but this anime doesn't make me uncomfortable in that way. It's probably because the characters that are the subject of fan service willingly dress themselves to have sex appeal (you'll find a solid reason for that if you watch it), and they are all adult characters who are not infantilized.

Vanessa
>>132789584

In that case, you should be safe. You might see "voluptuous" women sometimes, but it's because it actually makes sense in the context *no spoilers*, so it shouldn't bother you. For example, if there were a scene with women changing in a locker room, some animes would make it extra sus for no reason, and other animes, like AD, would just use it as a setting, so it doesn't get annoying. Hope it helps !

Kunj Shah

This hurts! Such great choices, but for me it's between DuD or AD. DuD definitely would produce some great reactions and it's absolutely hilarious! AD has great art, OST, brilliant storytelling, and one of my favorite MC's in a while, so because of that my vote goes to AD!!

paladar blade

Liked all three but Apothecary Diaries has a better story in my opinion amongst them. Its one of those kinds of shows you can't help but binge watch because of how well they lead to the next one making you want to know what happens next.

apothecary maomao

For shows with very prominent female characters, I'd love for Carlie to react more to AD just because it's less "male gaze"-y if that makes sense. I know AD is labeled seinen but the potrayal of women & their relationships with beauty, power, other women, and men is amazing.

Rae

I love Apothecary Diaries! Super interesting premise, and an amazing portrayal of female characters (which I treasure in anime, since female characters can so often be shoved into certain roles and archetypes).

Jesus Rocha

I know it’s not here but Inuyasha is a good light-hearted anime. It does have romance, comedy, action, horror, etc. it’s a very complete anime. The women here are really well written. I hope you guys give it a chance someday.

Jesus Rocha
>>132794170

If they decide to react to it and go this route you’re saying. They need to either drop some shows to make space for it or just focus in one piece and I don’t think it’s convenient but who knows.

Thanash Lee

My dress up darling please 😭

Алта

Thank GOD dress up darling keeps losing

SeiferJaeger

Please, don't start One Piece. It's a nice show with epic moments a so, but the time and effort to reach those moments simply are not worthy. Instead you can watch a TON of other shows with same or even better epicness. For example My Hero Academia or even old ones.

KaijinGarou
>>132789584

If you worry about that, I can say it is an anime where it would be more justified than most to have a lot of fan service due to its setting and premise and still has way less than most, if any.

Volksradio
>>132803746

Cannot believe this lame show for porn-addicts is nearly beating out everything it ever polls against

britt m

Please, anything but My Dress Up Darling 😂

Toidleboy

While Apothecary Diaries is great and will be a nice reaction, it was all but inevitable that it would win a poll with the further backing of recency bias when put up against others from previous seasons.

Just Anime

Please add to the votes - Clannad!!

Nymph

Lmao the moment Apothecary gets on the poll it's already decided. The recency hype of that show will simply eclipse anything no matter what. You two should've just auto locked in Apothecary THEN do a poll for other things.

Steven Cavanagh

Not an anime but I would suggest, Legend of Vox Machina from Critical Roll, it's on amazon and has two seasons with a 3rd on the way.

Dan

Apothecary Diaries!!! i kinda want to recommend you guys to watch Monthly Girls’ Nozaki kun/ Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki kun, it is not a new show but it’s just so hilarious.

Jordan

I love my dress up darling!

Jeff
>>132803746

damn that show is wholesome sure there's some fan service but its a bomb romance show 🥲marin best grill

Jeff
>>132805203

i mean they can skip fillers but lots of fillers are good too its just slow at the start but one piece is worth the journey 100 percent even though i like the to wath MHA hype 😭

Crayonz
>>132803746

If you think it's a show for porn addicts you've never actually seen it or you believe women should still be covering their ankles

KaijinGarou
>>132782411

I'd argue GoT and HotD have zero fan service, not because of that but because it is either relevant to the plot or meant to represent characters in their day to day usual and 'normal' activities. To have them having sex or after sex chats fully clothed would be plain ridiculous.

Dee
>>132809037

I agree with this, but also think that Apothecary Diaries would probably win without the recency bias. It appeals to a wider audience in it's storytelling.

Ashley hui
>>132812712

Finally somebody also watched that show!!! gekkan shoujo is soooo good 😩👌

DarkWhale
>>132805203

I think just waiting for the Netflix new form One Piece with no fillers is the best way to see it.

Thanash Lee

my dress up darling gotta be selected soon its so sad it not being chosen 2 times in a row </3 (3rd time the charm)

ZckFox

Apothecary Diaries is pretty different from things that you've seen up till now so it might be a nice changeup. When you get done with Solo Leveling, you should consider PLUTO. An anime based on the manga of renowned author Urasawa who based his story on the manga of Tezuka, considered the father of manga.

Jeff

please check out hazbin hotel guys its very relevant right now and only 8 episodes with 23min each ep

DrDrae3000

This is really hard because I like all three. My dress up darling was anime mania when it came out. I really wish yall to watch this first because right now it's just a quick 12 ep. And yall like kaguya and Oshi no ko yall likely rock with My dress up darling. While Apothecary Diaries is my second favorite show after Frieren of the past year.

Thilde

Would definitely prefer Horimiya but I dislike My Dress-Up Darling to the point where I'd much rather vote for Apothecary Diaries (which I haven't even seen yet lol)

JN
>>132794789

I think they should go Slime first before Overlord. More "normal" and lighthearted. Less gamer heavy.

nate

sad Horimiya is last but not surprising :/ Hope to see Cowboy Bebop on a poll someday

FGK

The moment I saw Apothecary Diaries my hand instantly moved to vote for it. Didn't even see the other shows. Apothecary Diaries, finally. Can’t wait 😁

FGK
>>132812712

I just rewatched that show recently actually 😆 the best. Still makes me laugh.

# vivi

My dress up darling is so cute!!

FGK
>>132809037

True. Apothecary Diaries just makes your mind blow a number times as you watch. The informations, the mysteries, the connections, the plot twists, the drama, the characters… 🤯

FGK
>>132807287

That could be but you gotta admit, it’s not like any other shows out there. The way the story’s made is really good especially the mysteries. Plus it’s uncommon to have such good female main like Maomao. I, too, want them to react to non.recent shows like Overlord, Tensura, Konosuba, Saga of Tanya the Evil, Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun, Ouran host club, Love Lab, etc.

FGK
>>132803746

Why is it constantly being added in the polls tho?

Owen Gisa

I don’t know if you’ve watched my hero academia but i would love if you reacted to it

FGK
>>132794789

If they could react to both at the same time…I think that’d be perfect 😁

J G
>>132820742

My dress up darling is up against some tough competition i hope it happens some day.

FGK
>>132789584

It has some but literally just a tiny speck. And they made the show so interesting that you’d likely forget about the quick fan service. You’ll end up thinking more about the “what’s gonna happen next” than the “oh b👀bs/abs”. It’s really a great show.

Elycius

Wow this is an almost impossible choice. All anime I love for different reasons

FGK

If you guys could put shows with the same default genre together in a poll that’d be great imo. Like if it’s isekai then just group them together like: Overlord, Tensura, Youjo Senki, Konosuba…etc. If it’s action: MHA, Bungou Stray Dogs, etc. And have a poll for classics shows as well. They deserve some love and attention too seriously.

Thanash Lee
>>132820742

I mean Avatar Was always going to beat it, and Apoc diaries is newest for the season, but like dress up darling is perfect

apothecary maomao
>>132812712

Omg yes!!! Been suggesting this as well. Truly a lighthearted show, easy to watch, age appropriate for its setting, and just full of hilarious antics 😂

Nurettin

Sorry this is unrelated but you guys really need to check out Chihayafuru. It is soo underrated and sooooo freaking good!

Starzlix

all of these are pretty good picks, I've been watching apothecary diaries along side frieren for the weekly releases so i'm leaning towards that one BUT ALL OF THESE ARE GREAT

Adan Aban
>>132803746

Shut up idiot, you don't know what you're talking about, my dress up darling is a romcom with very good reviews from foreign and Japanese audiences, do you think that because it has ecchi it's a bad anime? There are many romcoms that don't have ecchi and are a complete failure, ecchi is part of the experience, if you don't like it, take your taboos to another channel

josephocenada
>>132794170

big nope... imo, that's not the right way of consuming an entertainment... if the pace is too fast, they will not be invested on the characters, story, etc... thus the epic moments will not have an impact especially with the sad scenes, they will not cry, etc etc

Alejandro Garcia

Totally unrelated but Hazbin Hotel is 100% worth checking out and is only 8 eps

apothecary maomao
>>132803746

"because it has ecchi it's a bad anime?" No but I think there's nothing wrong with anyone, especially female viewers, expressing discomfort with how a show presents shots of a 15 year old girl a certain way. even if it's fiction, some of it is uncomfortable because many women like myself know what that's like because we've experienced it in real life when we were at the same age, even younger.

Jeff
>>132794170

joseph i just checked one pace cause i stopped in ep 1 of wano arc i think this is perfect this is not too fast no too slow and no fillers they would 100 percent still cry & have fun i can assure it

Jeff

ange checkout https://onepace.net/en if you want to watch one piece this might entice you no fillers its paced perfectly

honey senpai

seeing apothecary diaries on this poll and winning already makes me happy enough. I know I have already recommended this, but I would like to do it again seeing that both of you enjoyed kaguya sama and mob psycho, so i hope you guys watch saiki k down the line (its a mixture of both kaguya and mob) super funny and filled with loads of loveable characters!!! This is a big dream but hope you guys would watch one piece sometime as well, doesn’t have to be now or soon but yea

Jade

Asobi Asobase NEEDS some love. too many people dont know about this hilarious show.

Adam Pawnee

If I could suggest a live action show, I think Derry Girls would be a good watch. Short too.

happyfairyjerry

Lol glad something beat my dress up darling 🤣

KLC

It's time for me to suggest what I always suggest. Please watch "March comes in like a lion". It's a very, very well rated show that's huge in Japan but barely known in the West. It's a beautifully crafted show about people, their dreams, their low and high points in their lives and everything in between. I guarantee you that you two would end up loving it!

I Aries I

i’m so sad i love horimiya😭😭😭

Budats

Apothecary Diaries and Frieren are Top Tier this season! Currently my favourites together with Solo Leveling. Horimiya's cute, too but not on the same level as those two. My Dress-up Darling is a okay, I just didn't like the fan-service. 🤷‍♀️

Heather

I haven’t watched My Dress Up Darling but Horimiya and The Apothecary Diaries are top tier! I’ll be so hyped for either of them

Meanne Morales

So excited for The Apothecary Diaries ❣️❤️

Ludy

All three are different types of adorable lol and im so excited!!! ❤️😫🙏

Sergio Suarez

Both Horimiya and My Dress-Up Darling are AMAZING!!! I LOVE the journey Horimiya takes you on!!! Plus, it won't leave you "waiting for next season too release" because it's already complete. Series/Manga the whole thing!!

FGK

Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress please 😳 I want you guys to meet Mumei ☺️

Vanessa

I feel like they would also love Fruits Basket, but it's not that popular for reactors unfortunately.

Stefanie

I know that it's not an anime, but if you plan on watching a k-drama in the not too distant future, I would like to recommen "Beyond Evil" since it is my favorite k-drama so far.

Adrian Jansen

I’m not a fan of the animes in the pool so i let the other patreons decide, but, i'd like to make a recommendation for future pools: Overlord, it is a pretty good anime and i'm sure that there are a lot of patreons that would love to see your reaction to it.

Antique-Item

Y’all have really gotta stop recommending the most mid anime to them. Especially when there’s still so many masterpieces they have yet to see. Also non of these shows will bring a lot of viewership to the channel.

Antique-Item
>>132799214

Praising It’s portrayal of women as slaves and concubines in an era when they have very few rights is an insane take.

Gabriel

Not hating but yeah these shows are kinda meh, won't bring much for views. Dress up darlings fun but holy moly the horny levels are bonk worthy

Antique-Item
>>132785301

What exactly is top tier about apothecary? It’s decent, don’t get me wrong. But it’s not doing anything I haven’t seen before, nor is the writing particularly deep or complex. It’s a smart show with the different applications of medicine and some decent mystery aspects and I like the main character, just don’t understand how it’s top tier or peak like people keep saying. Especially when comparing it to a show like Frieren which is actually top tier.

Antique-Item
>>132781589

Does it get better after season 1? I found it to be exceptionally mid and overhyped

Ygjez
>>132781589

Think it’s more a thing of if you like that type of anime. I like reading the light novel and S2/S3 adaptation i think has been pretty good. Might just not be for you

if anyone's only takeaway from the show is "old era bad because women had few rights" and THAT'S IT then they've completely missed the plot 😅 more than anything AD highlights how these women overcame their horrible circumstances, the cunning yet brilliant measures they took to survive in such an environment that's made to cage them, how women use what means they have to gain power in said cage, why calling them "vain" for pursuing beauty is simplistic as beauty/looks was one of the few ways these women could have actual sway & influence and therefore control over their future and security, how many of the women in the show may have disagreed on each other's methods but understood the complex reasons behind their questionable choices

pan dan

Any plans for shogun reactions maybe?

apothecary maomao
>>132807287

ooh what are they? i'm keen for more shows like apothecary actually, mystery-solving type, added bonus if it's female lead too

DietPop

all 3 are great in their own ways - can't miss here

FGK
>>132789436

Right? Even though it has a show I like, I still want to see more options 😅

Stefan

Black Clover anyone?

FGK
>>133038603

Hopefully, next poll they'll include that and together with Overlord, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress, Tensura and many more... Rather they should just put more options, it's quite annoying to get just 3-4 options to choose from 😓

imvirals

Pluto is a anime i need them to see. Even if it was just the first epsiode with North #2 lol i love that epsidoe so much! for only 8 epsiodes its so good

Steven Cavanagh
>>132812455

Also should have added it has some great Voice Actors attached, other than the Main Cast, there is Grey DeLisle and the Late Great Lance Riddick

FGK

Fire Force?

FGK

Btw just curious…who decides what shows to put in the polls?

juju

Apothecary Diaries for sure!!!!,p

Holorence
>>133059736

Can't find a source for you but in the past they've said in a video that Ange tends to be on the lookout for what's currently popular/brings in youtube views. I imagine that's what they pick from for the polls. EDIT: they've also said they like to followup shows with similar/same genres. So expect hxh to be followed by a shounen, blue lock by another sports anime and so on. This pol being a frieren replacement means that anything following it up will be a similar vibe, as we can see from the currently presented options.

Carlie & Ange
>>133059736

We also take a lot of the common recommendations in our comment section on both Patreon and Youtube. We sometimes actually ask for suggestions in Patreon posts, but we they are starting to get repetitive with the same sort of suggestions. Most of which have been noted down by us.

MinstralPain
>>133059736

Good to know info here. I was thinking episode amount slots. Depending on if they needed to replace a long series vs. A short series to keep it fresh and not have too many long series in a row making things stagnant.

Ayn Orbuda

Apothecary Diaries since it’s pretty talk of the town these days

FGK
>>133059736

@Holorence oooh 😲 I see. I get it now. Make sense. Thanks 😁 AD seems to be the only one with the same vibe with Frieren tho 😳

Aziouss

Apothecary diaries is the chouice here. But i would have added The dangers in my heart with horimiya and dress up. It is one of the best romances i have seen.

FGK
>>133059736

I see. Well there were a bunch of great shows in previous seasons/years that are still popular today, especially the ones with new seasons airing soon so it’s understandable ☺️. I hope you guys check out some classics too.

Maryam186

I watched all three. Voted for The apothecary diaries. My Dress up darling would have been second for me

Thorfinn's left nut

Bit off topic but I’d love to see you go into any of the big 3 as well. Naruto imo would be the best replacement for HxH

Matthew W

Dress up is cringe and I haven't even heard of the other 2.

apothecary maomao

s2 for Apothecary just got confirmed so I'm even more excited to see them react to it now! 🤩 tbh even if Carlie & Ange don't end up reacting 'cos it might not bring as much viewership (fanfare isn't as loud in the west as it is in japan) genuinely just want them to watch it & enjoy the story even if its in their own time 💚💜

blabla1

tbh none of these spike my interest. Something like Death Parade, Mashle, Fire Force, Fate... would be nice

zdravko georgiev
>>133217251

They replacing anime based on genre, they want something wholesome and less shonen to replace Frieren, that's why they picked these options for this replacement

zdravko georgiev
>>133169176

Hunter x Hunter is already a big decision since its 146 episodes. Imagine one of those anime.. Plus, mostly my opinion but i strongly believe its true, those mainstream anime are so popular because people have grown up with them, its a part of their childhood, they are not that great though. For example i loved Fairy Tail so much, ever since i got a bit experienced in anime i can say for sure that it's a very mid ranged choice

abzuu

now it has to be my dress up darling

Jon L

I think Bocchi the Rock!! would be a great replacement for Frieren, as the series is directed by the same guy, and it's has banger music in it. A really great intro song to cover

Guest39147

Nothing can replace Frieren 😔

Adam Pawnee

Derry Girls is a great watch!

TheRaelyn

Oh god don't make me pick between Dress Up Darling and Apothecary Diaries. I think you guys would enjoy Apothecary more, and it is fantastic, but Dress Up Darling is truly phenomenal. You gotta watch both at some point.

Uuraami Chan
>>132995870

I appreciate the non toxic response. No need to bash the shows you don't want to see.

Uuraami Chan

Kudos to all the folks who were able to recommend their show without bashing the other choices. So unnecessary lol.

Taylor Malik

What i gotta do/pay for you guys to spam more HxH reactions? im having withdrawals right now

Bibi

When you guys watch Apothecary Diaries, I would recommend reacting to the opening because it doesn't have spoilers (at least I don't think so..someone please correct me) edit: the second opening has some spoilers (second opening starts from episode 13)

astral_

APOTHECARY PLS

FGK
>>133464461

The first one doesn't. The second one has some split second spoiler clips.

Noctis

i really wish my dress up darling would win

rabbit

If you guys watch Apothecary, it would give me an excuse to watch it

Rawdota

dress up darling !!! so cute show :)

yaes777

If you loved Frieren then you're going to love The Apothecary Diaries

Jacob Svensson

Good choices, but I really hope you will check out Delicious in Dungeon in the future, easily the #2 anime after Frieren this season imo, and a lot of similarities to it. Sadly enough it's been kinda under the radar by overhyped things like Solo Leveling

Jacob Svensson

Good choices, but I really hope you will check out Delicious in Dungeon sometime. In my opinion easily the #2 anime after Frieren this season, and has a lot of similarities to it. Sadly enough been overshadowed by overhyped ones like Solo Leveling. But Apothecary Diaries is up there at the top aswell at least

Jacob Svensson
>>133803854

There's not that many similarities though, except nice scenery, well written and slice of life. If you want to watch anything actually Frieren related I'd really sugest Delicious in Dungeon, it's at the 13th episode right now, not sure how many there will be

Chris pastore
>>133813635

the term "overhyped" is quite opinionated, you may think solo leveling is overhyped but a lot of us are really enjoying it. not to say we wouldnt enjoy any of your suggestions, but there are reasons anime are hyped more than other, theyre good.

FGK

Yay! Maomao won! 😆 So excited for you guys to watch this one.

Pavle

Yall should check out one piece for sure i watched alot of animes but one piece was by far the best one for sure.

Pavle
>>133945714

From the world building to back story's to all the characters its like ange said after 8th episode of live action its one peak

Dalton George
>>133945714

they have talked about watching one piece for sure im almsot sure it will come eventually they just have some shorter shows to finish before they start it i think lol. Like probably after HunterXHunter.

Katherine Claire
>>133714248

If you’re new you may not know that they’ve been reacting to hxh for a while now. They’re up to episode 99 ☺️

Kere Jibi

damn late to the party but would love to see you both check out SNAFU or Bunny Girl Senpai in the future. I think you'd both really enjoy these 2 shows.

Holorence
>>134249109

If they ever watched oregairu (snafu) man... that's like my 2nd favourite show out of 500+ I've seen!! doubt this would ever happen cant imagine them pulling youtube views with it sadly :(

MARTIN DIVIRGILIO

I want to thank the community for all the cool anime titles they are suggesting and Carlie & Ange for all reacting/reviewing. It's becoming my program schedule!. Even if I dont get to it at the same time I know I can look forward to a good series and reaction enhancement when I get to it.

The Great Santini
>>134249109

Nah the fact that they haven't watched the masterpiece that was Mushoku Tensei season 1 yet is the biggest crime on this channel. The community response was childish, honestly. Yes, the main character was a creep. But at least it was explained well and the characters in the show are so multifaceted, including the creepy MC. The positives outweigh the 3 or so cringy scenes, IMO.

Vlade
>>134249109

same. snafu is one of the very few modern anime classics. completely obliterates this entire poll lmao.

Aziouss

Honestly dungeon mushi is top tier right now.

KLC

Please watch "March comes in like a lion". I guarantee that you two would absolutely fall in love with that charming show!

Jeff

is there any hazbin hotel enjoyer here please help me recommend it to them

Horace_The_Orphan .

I think you guess would really enjoy delicious dungeon, it seems right up your street :)

Kaycee
>>134594557

I love hazbin hotel so much but I’m not sure if Carlie would honestly. Just my opinion. Could be wrong.

Jeff
>>134594557

im really struggling to see why carlie would not love it hope they watch a trailer its so good.

Kaycee
>>134594557

Slight spoilers for hazbin: So I’m pretty sure Carlie is very religious. Obviously that doesn’t entirely mean she wouldn’t like the show but I have seen some people like in tik tok or in YouTube comments kind of offended by the portrayal of angels and of characters like Adam. (Not often but I have seen them). I even saw someone agree with Adam that sinners shouldn’t be allowed to be rehabilitated 💀. On one hand it’s easy to say it’s just a show who cares but I’m not religious at all so idk I feel like it’s kind of unfair to say that. But idk maybe it wouldn’t bother her at all 🤷🏻‍♀️. I just got the vibes it might a little lol. But that was it.

Jeff
>>134594557

ok then thanks for replying it makes a lot of sense why they dropped deathnote too bad its a really amazing show to me its just a fictional show im a catholic to me Jesus is Jesus. thanks for the explanation godbless.

Jeff
>>134594557

the adam part is crazy lmao pretty sure jesus welcomes all sinners if they repent that's how amazing he is pretty chill guy

Jeff
>>133945714

pretty sure you haven't watch one piece there's a lot of adult themes in the anime

Caracas
>>134594557

wait what, they watched deatnote?? I dont remember seeing any religious things on that show tho 🤔

Holorence
>>134594557

@Caracas It's probably the whole shinigami/death realm shenanigans contrasting with their views on heaven/hell. I don't know my religion well enough but maybe that's some kind of blasphemy. Alternatively it's because of Light practically wanting to become some sort of god of justice which might be an issue? idk these are the only two things I can personally think of but yeah. Didn't even know Carlie was heavily religious lol never heard them talk about it. EDIT: It's been a while since I watched Death Note but doesn't the show explicitly refer to the shinigami as ''Angels of Death''? I think the whole idea of them being Angels but looking the way they do and representing death might also be an issue lol.

Atar

Watch reading comments, people like to get spoilery with this show

FGK
>>134593839

Are the numbered ones main suggestions? If so, I think, if it's me, for the sports section, Diamond no Ace should be there instead of Chihayafuru. This is mainly coz they're more familiar with baseball than karuta so it'd likely be easier for them to follow, that's it. Nothing against Chihayafuru. I quite like the show. Hanebado, I've thought of suggesting that as well but decided against it coz of the plot 😑 It wanted some drama but didn't really pull it off. It started good, it was 10/10 for me but the thing with the mom was what made it fall to 5/10. But animation is amazing. Also, All Out is good as well. 😁 Another is SK∞, love the animation here. Yuri on Ice!! If they don't mind some yaoi. For the music part... I've been suggesting Given, again assuming they don't mind it's main genre which is Yaoi 😆. It's more on drama too but the music is awesome. I feel like Carlie will use up 2 boxes of tissue for this show especially when Mafuyu starts singing their first song, if they ever react to this. Hopefully 🤞 Another one for music is Sound Euphonium, there's good balance between drama and music. Of course, it's KyoAni so everything is good👍 Next is, Carole & Tuesday. Not much drama here. More on Slice of Life and 🔥 music. Lastly, Show by Rock (the first one). I suggest this show purely for Shingancrimsonz. I want them to meet Shingancrimsonz 😆 And the songs are 🔥 (For both seasons). This show is 80% music and 20% everything else. For Action/Sc-Fi...They've already reacted to Demon Slayer. There are a lot shows for this genre. And I mean A WHOLE LOT OF IT 😳 You have great suggestions just wanna add Read or Die (R.O.D), Saga of Tanya the Evil, Bungou Stray Dogs, Shy, Lycoris Recoil, Re:Creators, Dead Mount Death Play, Mobile Suit gundam: The witch from Mercury, Gangsta, Akudama Drive, Black Clover, Fire Force, Strike Witches, Canaan, Dororo, Fairy Gone, God Eater, Juuni Taisen, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress...ugh there are so much. I can't possibly list all of them here 😣. SoL Comedy Romance...just like the previous genre there are a lot of shows for this one as well. There's Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun, Ouran High School Host Club and Komi Can't communicate, Kiznaiver, Plastic Memories, Gokusen, Interview with Monster Girls, Love Lab, My roommate is a Cat, Sounan Desu Ka?, Tanaka-kun is Always Listless, Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill, Endo and Kobayashi Live! The Latest on Tsundere Villainess Lieselotte...there are so much more but I'm just going to stop here for now 😆 Mystery 🤔 There are also: Detective School Q, Millionaire Detective, Odd Taxi, Gosick, Undead Girl Murder Farce, The Promised Neverland, Terror in Resonance, Beautiful Bones- Sakurako's Investigation, Bungou Stray Dogs is in this genre as well, Moriarty the Patriot. I think they should also have Horror 😁 Dark Gathering, Another, Hell Girl and Corpse Party are the only ones I've watched. There's also School-Live! and Meiruko-chan but I'm not sure coz it more slice of life and comedy for these two. What I said are just my opinions and some additional suggestions that I think are also good. Didn't mean to bombard with so much shows. I just get excited to share some anime. I know your suggestions are for Carlie & Ange but thanks to that I have more shows to check out now...apart from the currently airing ones 😆

Succinate
>>134967466

I can verify this, because it's kinda mystery-y people who've read ahead will just randomly assault you with their own impressions of the characters. Good thing to watch out for.

marren

You would love My Hero Academia. And I would love watching your reaction to it!

Jeff
>>135387457

def after hunter hunter but iwant them to start one piece too

The Great Santini
>>135387457

I'd MUCH rather them watch MHA than a million episodes of One Piece. C'mon. The first 3 seasons of MHA are fucking amazing. The 4th and 5th? Pretty mid. The 6th? Good but not great.

zdravko georgiev
>>135387457

nobody is forcing them to do anything, everyone is giving their opinions and they take a decision by themselves at the end of the day. The fact that you like or dislike sth doesn't matter that much.
