I can see why you might find Zuko's voice a little offputting at first but I'm sure you'll come around, Carlie, it's iconic. Also, I'm not sure if you two got this because you were talking when they said it but Zuko was banished from the Fire Nation.

This show is widely known as an example of world-building done right among other things, so you can be sure it'll be great. Also, the monks don't get to choose who the Avatar is, it's a natural cycle. They just told Aang they found out it was him in this generation.
