This can coexist with what you said about the topknots of letting go of the past but topknots are also heavily tied (no pun intended) to Fire Nation costumes and identity, especially for royalty, so it also means cutting ties with that.

Lightning bending isn't exactly rare its just the way to do it and master it is jealously guarded by the royal family. So a lot of people could do it if they are allowed to learn it.

Azula does have both lightning and blue fire. She's known for that. Her name even comes from blue in Spanish, "azul".

So you guys were spot on, 3 of the bending nations learned bending from animals, airbenders from sky bison, firebenders from dragons, and earthbenders from badger moles. As they said at the end of the last season, water benders learned by watching the moon push and pull the tides. This is just good bending forms though, they already had the basic ability to manipulate their element, as that is genetic (mostly).

yeah, one of the very few complaints I have towards ATLA is that Azula does NOT look or act like a 14 year old. like look at her, that’s a grown ass woman lol. would have worked better if she was around 16, and Zuko 17 let’s say

Fun fact about Zuko and Irof cutting their hair, The high "bun or ponytail" is associated with Fire Nation royalty (Azula also has a part of her hair up). When Zuko was banished he left only the high part to remind him of his royal heritage and his honor. By cutting it off, both he and Iroh reject their status as Fire Nation royals.

I might not have worded it well. When Zuko was banished he cut all his hair out of shame but still left the high part to remind him of his status so that he could regain his honor. NOW he is rejecting his status as fire nation royalty.

There's no more "Hi, welcome back to the channel, I'm Carlie—and I'm Ange—and today we're reacting to ABC, season x episode y. So in the last episode..." ??? I miss it already :( It was so homey and familiar and felt natural. Coming back to it every time felt very comfortable. It has a certain pleasant cadence and rhythm to the intro, very iconic. But I understand change is inevitable. But that's just my opinion in a sea of opinions. I know I saw some comments teasing you guys for it (maybe also in good fun), but I personally really enjoyed the familiarity. Endearing intro, in my opinion, as strange as it is to say. It's similar to the comfortability of hearing "Find out next time, on Dragon Ball Z." It's just not the same when it's missing lol

It's a real world concept in martial arts as a whole 🥰 All the bending disciplines are based on real fighting styles that exist in our world and they translated that into the choreography of the show. It's one of the many things that makes this show next level.
