HxH tomorrow?

Book 2 start to show you exactly why avatar is such a beloved series for many people, it goes over just a kid show from here on out Edit: Favorite soup is chicken soup lol As the show keeps going you will see how each character refine themselves with their bending (and not bending too), the moment with toph being selfish is more about her not liking people taking care of her cause her blindness and it takes it to the extreme (we too as audience tend to forget she is blind by how powerful and awesome she is) Zuko/Aang paralel is the highlight everytime it happens cause you can see 2 opposite trying to get things right in different ways, Iroh is best dad of the series and you need to fight me otherwise

KaijinGarou

Aang, a prodigy airbending master. Unless Sokka's around to get collateral damage, then he's a mess. Poor Sokka 🤣

KaijinGarou

Ange: 𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐨𝐭 𝐓𝐨𝐩𝐡'𝐬 𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐝 Katara: "Too bad you can't see the stars, Toph!" 🤣

Matt Even

Definitely would recommend doing 2x10 + 2x11 together, then 2x12 + 2x13 together as double features as that’s how they were released.

Maxine

I literally giggle every damn time she goes her lil impression 😂

Maxine

*Carlie and Ange bagging Azula* me: "look how ~competent and efficient~ this girl is 😌😂"

KaijinGarou

Nah, Aang's not moody. He just doesn't take shit when it comes to Appa.

KaijinGarou

𝐊𝐀𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐀, 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐋 𝐇𝐈𝐈𝐈𝐈𝐈𝐈𝐈𝐈𝐈𝐌!!! 🤣

KaijinGarou

Lucky you watched 9 right after 8 or you'd have been losing your mind for a week xD

KaijinGarou

That was hilarious but I suggest you put a headphones warning in the YT version 🤣

MikeyMike

More Avatar reactions!! Let's goooooo🔥🔥🔥

KaijinGarou

There's an odd cut after Ange said he tossed tea away once as well. I bet we missed a big fight there similar to the one about the boiled eggs 🤣

Tired Noodle

regarding soups: turkish red lentil soup with a squeeze of lemon, chili flakes and turkish flatbread is just a hug in a bowl 🙌

DandyZombie

Had no idea I'd hear soup slander today. I make soup at least once a month. I love Potato leak, Cream of Broccoli with cheddar, Chicken soup, beef stew, and Tortilla soup, soup is amazing and I expect an apology from Ange here

Knoel Moreno

My Sifu was the most kind and soft-spoken man you'd ever meet, but as a teacher he was just like Toph: Confident, unwavering, and tolerated zero excuses.

Julien

Avatar creators were cooking when the created Azula as a character. To this day one of the most complex and interesting antagonists i’ve ever watched imo. Hope you guys dissect her character more after finishing the series. She has layers. Azula, Toph and Aang/Zuko (can’t separate) are my top 3🐐

kyngqueer

say what you will about Azula, but she fought all of them alone and came out of it unscathed. she's insanely smart and powerful.

ndbrady2288

Love that you guys give Aang his flowers. He is a great character. Love your Avatar reactions.

Chelly

You will see how the main characters (not just Aang) adapt their fighting styles by using bending techniques that are not traditionally taught for their specific elements. It’s really cool. They put a lot of thought into the fighting styles of this show, especially considering it’s meant to be for kids lol. Iroh explaining the value of drawing wisdom from different places by looking at different cultures as an example is such a great way to introduce this concept.

Appa is our King!

I live for the Iroh gems dude. In 2x8, it's so heartwarming that Iroh decides to follow Zuko, just so that if Zuko is in trouble or needs someone again, he'll be able to be there for him. Zuko is incredibly fortunate to have someone like that in his life, even if he hadn't recognized that just yet. I also really liked Toph's line at the end of the conversation, "About your nephew, maybe you should tell him that you need him too". Iroh has no response to this, which leads me to believe that it resonated with him.

Danny C

I always found the Zuko storm scene to be extra sad because over the past couple episode we see him get humbled a lot and basically being told he isn’t good enough. Even with Iroh, Zuko learned the technique to redirect lightning and got praise, but he still wouldn’t hit him with lightning, almost like he didn’t believe he could redirect it. So the storm not striking him was basically the universe adding on to this inadequacy, which is so depressing lol. Loved these past couple episodes, and loved the reaction/discussion 😁

LookingForOwls

You guys absolutely picked up that Iroh bends in a fundamentally different way than benders like Zhao and most fire nation soldiers. We'll get more on that later, but as he said in this episode, most firebending is done by channeling rage, and clearly Iroh doesn't power his that way.

Nate Terry

I've watched several reactors watch ATLA for the first time....you guys were the first ones to comment about wanting to know what Sokka was going to say after being stuck in that hole.....lol

beannie

azula is one of my favorite representations of insanity in media, i love her lol😭. i wish i could hug uncle iroh too😭 that man looks like the fluffiest being out there the last bit of ep 9 never fails to make me cry "you've always thrown everything you could at me, well i can take it, and now i can give it back!" up until this point, zuko has seen power as an instrument to prove his value, he doesn't want to learn how to redirect lightning because it's helpful and that could save his life, he wants to learn because by doing it he's proving to people around him that he's strong and reliable. he finds purpose in his "identity", and he unfortunately thinks his identity relies on his position. no matter how much uncle iroh tries to bathe him in love and acceptance, zuko will always be fixated in this way of thinking, since in his mind he's worth something by following the destiny his father assigned to him, so far, his journey is the saddest one, at least to me

Maya Coleman

I love you guys reaction to avatar they are my favorites 😍

Alyssa

My soup sense went off so naturally I’m here🐺 my fav is loaded baked potato soup or the chicken gnocchi from Olive Garden (you can buy a gallon of it there 👹👹)

Martina

damn Carlie was rattled about Iroh! but I can totally understand, he’s my favorite character, too

Martina

potato leek is elite 🔥 my favorite is spiced butternut squash soup!

CornCobBob

well mostly rage. Or that's how most firebenders do it. I think it's any strong emotions are the key to bending fire, like ambition, love, pride, anger, sorrow, desire, greed, purpose etc. If you look at Johng Johng and Iroh it's definitely not rage fueling their bending.

CornCobBob

She's a straight up sociopath and psychopath. She knows exactly what to say and do to get what she wants from people, and if that doesn't work she is confident enough to resort to force as the first option. She looks down everyone else as either tools to be used, insects to crush, or obstacles to be removed.

Carlie & Ange

Hahaha no sometimes when the audio is loud, the audio desyncs with the visuals. We’ve noticed it recently coz the mic is getting old. You’ll likely see some new mics soon!

AttackRunRepeat

When I tell you I cried watching Iroh play with Lu Ten as a kid. OMG. Avatar should not be so emotionally charged and yet here we are.

Jeff

carlie is soooo invested i love it

JN

Loving these reaction and discussions. I'm really enjoying this rewatch of Avatar with you two. Actually, one of the biggest things I was looking forward to when re-watching Avatar is to experience Uncle Iroh's presence and wisdom again. Not disappointed at all. Great pick-up on how the writers must've intended and wrote Iroh in to be a great role model and mentor for the young audience watching. Makes perfect sense but I never considered that before.

Meg

I love how while Ozai is the big bad villain of ATLA, Azula is the villain who really gets us rattled lmao.

BornUnMotivated

"Sokka went limp" is that why his girlfriend left him?

Nate Terry

least we not forget the series premier episode.....Katara channeled strong negative emotions against Sokka that resulted in her freeing Aang from the iceberg....and that was waterbending..
