niri

a nice insight i saw from another comment was that i love how as zuko tries to convince himself hes right its portrayed as if zuko is behind the bars and not iroh

Martina

I can't believe you didn't bring back the "he's constructing" joke 😂

Mark!

I’ve never heard tongue this much in an Avatar reaction. Haha

I think the main reason Iroh ignored Zuko in that moment story wise is because Iroh has given Zuko advice over and over and over again... Zuko has not appreciated the wisdom, guidance and support uncle has given him for years. Iroh probably feels like there is no point in wasting his breath, or that Zuko truly needs to learn on his own.

Hide is a piece of shit!

gee

the rare moment when azula actually gives zuko sincere advice

I agree she was actually looking out for him she knew he would go see him and she didn’t snitch on him

MattF315

I don’t see anyone pointing it out, but just a funny thing about Aang and Katara dancing together in this episode: any kid there who saw him go to or leave his parent-teacher conference would then be seeing him dance with/rizz up who they think is his mom

MattF315

Also, you’re correct, the behind the scenes reason for Iroh not speaking in this episode was out of respect for the old voice actor and to give the new one some time

MattF315

Also also, in case you never read the comics: Sokka’s character in this episode “Wang Fire” takes on a life of his own. People become convinced they’ve met him in the Fire Nation military and when he can’t be found they hold a funeral for him in which his commanding officer is visibly moved and gives a speech about him

Honestly, theres proabably a small # of kids who would think that but to be fair Katara has some extra clothes on making her look much bigger in the parent-teacher conference scene. I've always taken it as her looking pregnant, personally. But yeah, so reasonable for the kids to not really connect the two as both being Katara.

Actually Mai gave Azula a secret look. Sort of like a side eye. If you go back to “Zuko alone” Mai had a crush on Zuko back when they were little kids. Azula knew this and loved to tease/bully Mai about that.
