I agree that the circumstances and the way they play out is not really how it happens, even in the US. I think the great thing about this anime, and this is just my interpretation, is it's showing us how honesty and respect are important, even when you don't know if things will work in your favor. I think that's what I really love about this anime. The characters try to be open and genuine with one another, and that's something you rarely see in high school. It's something where even as adults it can sometimes be hard to stay true to yourself with how much we can be influenced by societal norms. This show is such a gem!

Quick Note : Tatoos and Piercings are shunned in japan. They are mostly seen as gang and criminal markings. Of course this is very slowly starting to change in younger generations but even now there are a lot of places where you are not allowed to bath if you are tatooed (because of their relevance to the yakuza).

In case you didn't realize (pretty difficult considering the enormous difference between the 2 characters), Sengoku, the red haired guy president of the student council, has the same voice actor as Bakugo from MHA!

Read this more than 10 years ago as a manga and it's more of a slow burn. The anime really sped up the timeline and cut out a lot of moments.

Season 2 is a must watch. This first season is obviously a 24 episode show they crammed into 13 episodes. You will understand that more towards the end.

I like horimiya more, Dangers in my heart just felt edgy and cringy a lot. But I can understand and respect the opinion, Definitely not bad just kinda niche in terms of Rom-Coms. Would always recommend Wotokai, SNAFU, Toradora, Hell I would even put Quintessential Quintuplets. Ok that was a bit much lmao but I know a lot of people like Danger in my heart, So it’s a fair opinion for sure.

Edgy? It was edgy in episode 1 maybe but after that it was not edgy. Idk how much if it is cringe, love is war is far more cringe and they loved it so I think the dangers in my heart would be a great watch for them. Roshii and sheera love it and I know Carlie and Ange would as well so I hope they watch it in the near future. I can respect your recommendations except the last one, I didn’t even watch that one.

This is a show that’s more about relationships of various kinds than the whole “will they, won’t they?” thing so common to rom-com anime. And that’s actually kinda rare, there’s probably thousands of animes that end on a kiss after seasons of buildup, but I like the kind where you get to stay with the characters and see where that leads for awhile.

I am so happy you guys are watching this. It's definitely one of my go-to comfort animes, and I love the pacing of it, it's so refreshing compared to the average romance anime. Now you guys just need to watch Bunny Girl Senpai and then you've checked off all of my main romance anime favs. Please Carlie. Please Ange. Trust me the name is misleading its literally so good.

Not a kock on Dangers, I enjoyed it just fine and will watch if they bring S3 to the table. But for me I prefer a balanced male/female perspective like Horimiya over a male perspective like Dangers or a female perspective A Condition Called Love.

Yall definitely have to watch season 2. almost EVERYONE loves season 2 almost as much as S1. and like u said, it’s the missing pieces. it shows more of what was left out in season 1 so you get more understanding of characters
