YAY Korra time!

Danny C

Perfect timing

Maya Coleman

Can't wait to watch these episodes ❤️

Simone

let's goooo, one step closer to PEAK tlok

Neys

I can't wait for you to see book 3, it's my favorite of the 4 :3

TetraLuna

yeah we just ignore the romance stuff in the first two seasons LOL and that song at the end when Korra becomes Avatar Korra is by far my favorite song from this series' OST. It's called Greatest Change and it uses both Korra's and Aang's themes :) book 3 of Korra is probably my favorite, has the coolest villains for sure

Zel

Wind breaker please...🥺 I will always comment "wind breaker" until you guys watch it😭

Simone

one thing i did like with that convo between korra and mako at the end of s1, is when he said "i don't care if you're the avatar or not" because she needs to hear that people care about her as Korra and as a human being, and not just for "clout" bcz of the avatar title, she needed to hear it even more at that moment since she believed she wasn't "worthy" anymore. but yea other than that the "romance" part of it is still meh, i don't really ship them either

Hailey “Beloved” Robeson

Yeah... S2 is the season a lot of fans regard as the worst, but dw it still has some peak episodes in it

Mr Krabs

book 3 is widely regarded as the best by far. book 2 is widely regarded as the worst by far

Fumi フミ

thanks for the reactions! for me, book 2 is definitely the weakest except for a few very particular parts. Books 3 and 4 are among my favorite of all avatar. I loved Atla and still do very much but Ozai is such a cartoonishly evil villain that is fun to watch sometimes but the villains in LoK have so much depth and I find much more interesting and exciting to watch

Daniel Molina

Easiest way to describe TLOK Extreme highs, extreme lows 😂 Book 2 is deff the weakest Book 3 is soooo good its jarring lol Book 4 suffered a lot because Nick basically abandoned the show mid run, its a miracle it even got finished and is as decent as it is

Simone

Sorry i keep commenting lol, but what ya'll said about good and bad seasons, and people here in the comments saying s2 is the worst... if ranked then yes season 2 would be last, but by no means is it actually BAD imo. Some choices that the characters make is frustrating this season along with one big plot decision by the writers, but honestly from episode 7 onward the season is pretty damn good. if i had to rank the show from best to "worst": 1. Season 3 (arguably the best in all of atla and lok combined) 2. Season 2 Ep 7 - 14 3. Season 1 and season 4 is tied 4. Season 2 Ep 1 - 6

Cyr

Im surprised you didnt like the scene between the brothers. It makes sense to want more from them, but its 2 brothers born from tragedy, pitted against each other, and destined to repeat history. Sure theres argument for them starting over, but theyre essentially world class criminals who will probably hide and lie the rest of their lives, like their father. I think they were both ready to accept their fate, Im sure Amon felt exactly what his brother was doing... he accepted it, hence those tears. so to finally put an end to that sad story, is to end Yakons bloodline.

Gabriel Barott

Now I don't want to rain on the parade, because I genuinely think this is a good conclusion to the season. I just want to provide my perspective on why it wasn't great. To characterize the way I see this, I think that Noatok was a very interesting villain for the show and I think he brings a really compelling component to the table. With what we learn from Tarrlok, Noatok likely believes that bending is the source of evil in the world (due to their traumatic childhood). Noatok uses this mindset to create a movement/cause that people would believe in. The idea that there is inequality between benders and non-benders is actually a really thought provoking view. However, in the end he used this movement for more evil and ultimately was just reduced to being another bad guy. In my opinion, this fell flat for me, because I really thought his ideas were rooted in something realistic and good. His methodology was where he went wrong. As for Korra by the end of the season, I didn't like that she lost her bending (Earth, Fire and Water) and got it back in the same episode, the pacing felt weird. It would have been more interesting, in my opinion, if she had to go into the next season without her bending returned and then had to learn how to attain it again. Also, I think her being able to Airbend at the most perfect moment was a leaning a tad too far on the convenient side. I'll explain a bit more later on as to why I didn't like this conclusion to the season, but for now I'll leave it here. Overall S1 is good, but between the love triangle/square and the ending, I think it could have been better. This could also likely be due to the nature of the showrunners not knowing if they would get another season. These are mostly just my nitpicks/gripes, and it's just a TV show, don't attack me pls. 😅

A small detail that many may miss is that in season two we learn that korra is actually from the northern water Tribe , and her uncle is the head which means that korra is a member of the "royal family" in the north. Who else do we know from the "royal family" of the north…. Princess Yue from avatar so korra and yue are related A small detail I noticed the first time I checked korra

The back half of season 2 is the bad part - I won't go into specifics but that final fight looks like an early 2000's movie with way too much CGI budget

LookingForOwls

At some point Ange you just need to accept that the scenes with Amon are telling the truth - you thought they were tricking you in literally every scene he was in. He died at the end - Tarlok applied a spark to the gas tank of the boat. Also season 2 is going to be a really mixed bag - the least liked among fans, but with some REALLY good episodes, including a 2-part that rank among the best episodes in the series.

Laloë Sarah

Very true, season 3 and 4 are the most entertaining to watch, they're on a whole other league!

Nethzil

I absolutely loved the tragic ending for the brothers. The Deus Ex Machina with Korra and Aang was acceptable because they thought they only had one Season. The Mako and Korra Romance was by far the worst.

poisonivybag

People have a lot of opinions about what book is best or worst but I just hope Carlie and Ange approach each season with an open mind, form their own opinions and enjoy the ride ☺️

Simone
>>151288436

Yeah that part seemed a bit far fetched like it didn't belong in the world of avatar.. but at the same time I didn't really mind it either

TrixieTurner
>>151290109

I think not focusing on getting her other bending back was the right call for season two, would have been too much of a retread of old avatar.

TrixieTurner

Fun looks like at the end there korra was considering jumping and killing herself when she thought she couldn’t be the avatar the world needed since she only had air bending.

LookingForOwls
>>151291355

We have learned that her dad is brothers with the chief of the Northern Tribe - I think that alone is all you'd need to figure that out. Besides it's not a spoiler because it's not a direction that the show ever moves in - it's technically true but never expanded upon. Also, we don't know that Yue and Korra are related. Yue's father was not shown to have more children, and we have no idea how the succession worked out after the 100 year war.

beannieswife

can ya'll let them watch season 2 before you come here and review it as if this comment section is imdb or something😭jesus

Yashu

Is it just me or is Korra using airbending as if she's using firebending? Punching always gives me firebending vibes, I don't think Aang ever used airbending so aggressively

Gabriel Barott
>>151290109

Agree to disagree I guess. Since the method in which she would acquire that bending again wouldn't be through the same means as Aang. Actually S2 would provide a perfect platform for her to get her bending back, since the spiritual connection isn't something she's invested a lot of time into.

Erwin Prado
>>151311740

Good catch, that's why Tenzin says she hasn't "mastered airbending" She's manipulating air by punching.

Shivam Rai
>>151286922

Agreed, season 2 wasn’t my favorite but there were a lot of S tier moments

Shivam Rai

I remember watching this when Korra came out back in 2012. When I saw what Tarlok did in the end, my jaw dropped then my eyes suddenly started tearing up. It was such a tragic story about 2 innocent brothers being corrupted by an evil father

K

When you name your kid Bumi, you know what you’re getting.

LookingForOwls
>>151290109

It wasn't that the showrunners just didn't know if they were getting another season - they were fairly sure they weren't, they were told this was only ever going to be a 1 season thing. This was supposed to just be a cute little story added on for fans of ATLA.

ab

Carlie's "they really thought they did something there didn't they" for the korra/mako scene while still crying from the avatar state scene is KILLING MEE lmaoo. the way these two can be so simultaneously serious and unserious is so funnyyy

K

Also, because your episode pairings are off as far as evens and odds go, episodes 7 and 8 of this season are one story and meant to be watched together. If ever you were to double up, it’s these two episodes. You’ll be glad you did.

Z

Im dying at every time they see korra and mako

Z

Personally I liked the tragic ending for the brothers, it made sense to me but I wish they showed Tarlok more before he made that decision

Laureano Oliva

I didn't like the brother ending. It feels wrong. I would have them just leave in the boat and that would have been enough imo. The problem is not that it is a bad conclusion to the story but that it's is to strong for a show that usually only implies people dying.

Danny Ramirez

Season 2 is kind of slow in the beginning but it picks up half way through. So just make it through the first half guys lol. Also season 3 personally and mostly is everyone's favorite. Also make sure you guys watch ep 7-8 together on season 2. IT is VERY essential.

Angelo Burton

Book 3 is lit! Book 2 has some strong moments but is weak overall. Book 4 isn’t too memorable for me - but I’ll take it over book 2.

Chimpman
>>151328630

Nah, almost all of season 2 is bad. Literally only 2 episodes, and you know the 2 I'm referring to, are any good.

beannieswife

this is unrelated but, I’m so serious when I say this… PLSSS WATCH DANDADAN, the first ep came out today and oh my god😭😭 you’re gonna lose your minds

Alex Ocean
>>151309751

SERIOUSLY, what good is it to tell them season 2 sucks? They expect them to skip it? Or just have to sit miserably through it? So annoying.

Edmon

I like the idea of Aang playing with his grandchildren whenever Korra uses her Avatar state

Edmon
>>151368181

Also I absolutely love season 2, some of my favorites moments in the franchise

poisonivybag
>>151319138

I also think it distinguished LOK from ATLA in a way, the themes in LOK are very mature and complex and they do actually off people.

Kolton Nay

In my opinion, the best Book in Korra is Book 3, followed closely by book 4, then book 1, and in last place, the book you're about to watch xD

Nate Terry

Remember in Book2 of ATLA the "The Guru" episode. The guru explained that there were 7 chakras throughout the body in a vertical line from the base of the spine all the way to the forehead. blocking any one of the chakras prevented Aang from going into the Avatar state. Azula shot him with lightning in the center of his back. He later in book3 revealed that this blocked a chakra preventing him from going into the state. he went into his climatic battle with Ozai without the avatar state. Ozai pushed Aang into a rock wall that slammed Aang's center back hard unblocking the chakra and allowing the avatar state to kick on. similarly Amon somehow caused a physical block in the forehead chakra that blocked a person's access to their bending. There is a bit more to this explanation, but more story is required...lol

>>151314236

Yeah I like the ending. It's tragic, their backstory is heartbreaking, and it resolves in both of their failures and deaths. It really solidifies the more serious tone of korra. It's not just bad guys vs good guys anymore.

struggler sk
>>151294842

They always do, that's one of my favorite parts about them. They really experience each show fully and have their own opinions on it, kaiju no 8 showed that really well.

poisonivybag
>>151309751

It was the same when they announced they were going to watch LOK after ATLA. There were people under several posts just moaning about how much they dislike LOK, like okay do you want them to cancel it or watch it with the expectation that it's bad? 🙄

Mathies

Carlie Iroh II is like 30 already, i wouldnt ship him with any of the avatar gang lol

Paden Snell

Lotta season 2 hate. Not my favorite season but personally I liked it way more than season 1 Been years since I've watched fully but I'd say 3>4>2>1 with 3 and 4 being a fair step up from 1-2.

Dune

Season 3 without a doubt has my favorite villain and probably my favorite story of all the books. 2 would be next for me just because of the events that happen and what it means for the rest of the show. 4 is also a big fav but doesnt beat out 2 or 3 personally and 1 is just ass in my opinion. The introduction of pro bending is nice and just seeing how much the world has change since the era of aang. I even enjoyed the whole amon/equalists plot but the romance ruined it for me. I just couldn't be bothered to care about it at all. Mako was shitty at handling it and bolin and asami just ended up being casualties. I think korra is fine as an avatar but aang is still my favorite.

Jood

For me I enjoyed all seasons, but season three the most!

SpaceCadet

for me 3<4=1<2, I dont necessarily hate season 2 but, it for me is the weakest. aside from good moments and character building and two certain episodes it didn’t do Lin justice & Korra became annoying as a person. season 3 I feel really makes a turn around because the writing got stronger
