When he was introduced in the final episode of season 1, Shidou did immediately try to kick Isagi in the head, but it is understandable that you guys don't remember it since it has been over 1 year since season 1 aired. There is also a scene of Shidou and Rin attempting to punch each other that happens earlier in the manga that wasn't animated. So you are not totally off base for thinking Shidou's violent tendencies come out of nowhere in this episode.

Of course. Never said it's not understandable. Ange usually remembers stuff and honestly with animation issues etc everyone is focusing on, people kinda forget about the insanely awesome story and details blue lock is brilliant for. So just reminding a nice detail hehe :)
