The romance is not even that bad yes its annoying but its not even bad it don't even ruin the show at all it's makes perfect sense for Korra to not be good with relationships she's been locked up in a place for 16 years of her life asami is not fine with it mako is a young kid who has always been a ladys men who gets into trouble with not expressing himself with women

ah yes, the episode where Mako becomes the worst character through virtue of a single action. korra and asami need to form a union at this point smh...

Yeah none of the three are blameless but Mako is definitely the one in this ep who has the ability to shut things down and BE HONEST i.e. tell Korra that she doesn't remember that they broke up and he's with Asami now. Korra has amnesia and Asami is just done with it, based on her face

Asami is definitely angry, from the expression she gave there, but they dont really focus on her feelings about it here, and thats definitely a shame. Also I do think that she realized the bigger issues at play at this moments and decides not to confront Mako right when they're supposed to be saving the world

I believe the authors were trying their best to undermine Mako in order to make other characters seem better in comparison, which is a poor writing decision. Though he wasn't a perfect person, it's logically inconsistent for him to lie to Korra in front of not only Asami but also Lin and others who witnessed their breakup.
