I think what Ego's strategy is this: 4-5-1 is their formation when they are on defense, and 3-6-1 is their formation when they are on attack. That's what he meant by 4-5-1 being the "defensive" formation. It's still an aggressive formation, but it's the formation they will adopt when they are playing defense, so it's the "defensive" formation for them in this match. Since both formations are super aggressive, they are essentially not really playing defense, at all.

Yep! True true. I think the formation is actually pretty flexible for both styles. I was just saying it was attacking in the case that you have the front trio of attackers as well as the 2 wide players. There’s only the 1 deep lying midfielder
