The last lines between Kaneki and Rize…. I’ve found it so thought-provoking 🙏🏼 ****** SPOILER alert for Patreon supporters who are watching TG for the first time and have yet to watch this reaction vid ****** The line “You think after everything else, something like that hurts?” 😭 it’s such a glow, considering the sadness behind it. So grateful for the dialogue in these episodes/this series

Alejandro Garcia

This episodes were great , I am so happy you guys listened and watched the uncensored version. As uncomfortable as it is , is the only way to watch it. I am one of those people who thinks you should watch season 2 at least , because it gives a closure to the chapter season one leaves open . So it’s at least some sort of closure for you guys as well. I do however understand there are other patrons waiting for other shows so either way I’ll be happy to watch more shows with you guys 😁

idk

A really sad detail I like about this episode was the fact that his hair turned white purely from the stress of being tortured for 10 days straight and it’s not just a design choice. :( I love Kaneki so much. Episode 12 hurts me so BAD

Caraxes🐐DT

Well his hair turned white from all the stress from the torture…hope you guys give season 2 a chance to see more of him and the other characters stories. Also happy thanksgiving hope you guys enjoy 🙏🏾🙌🏾

I watched the first 2 seasons > then read the manga > then watched season 3 and 4 I watched season 2 right after season 1 and thought it was great. A bit fast paced but great I thought... Then I read the manga and understood how bad they made the anime. The first season is the best out of the 4 seasons but still misses important details that become important later on. If you still want to enjoy Season 2 then don't read below SPOILER MINOR SPOILER Season 2 is, I would say, compressed into a summary of fights, no real connection between events and got an anime original ending

Tortoise Of Legends

The music in this show is absolutely fantastic, and that last episode especially uses it amazingly. Loved watching through this again with you guys.

Tristan Scholtens

Man I forgot we didn't get the payoff with the CCG vs One Eyed fight in this season, lots of what I remembered from this series apparently happened in its second season, though completely understand that you guys won't watch it, lots of awesome shows still out there. Loved these last couple of episodes and your thoughts on it. Hope you give the manga a shot Ange! (maybe you can convince Carlie after ;))

Haz

It's mostly manga readers who hate on the show tbh. I never read the manga and it was years ago when I watched it but I remember enjoying the rest of the show. Because you guys haven't read the manga I would recommend watching the rest of it just to get closure with the story. I've said before there some people who are very vocal who love to hate on shows and put people off watching them.

AintOP

Please please watch at least the next season. Manga readers are gonna trash talk it but as anime only it's a really good watch.

cheekyramen

If you're planning to continue with the manga, read starting from Chapter 66. It's where the conclusion to the Kaneki vs Jason fight happens. A lot of crazy stuff happens after so if you're already invested in the story you don't want to miss it.

Ryu

Great reaction! Please react to Season 2. :)

cheekyramen

Ah yes, Rize and Jason becoming Ghoul Kaneki's metaphoric parents. A legend is born but at what cost... One of the main themes of the manga is keeping one's humanity so I'd say your theories at the end about what will become of Kaneki after are very fitting. Remember that while Rize and Jason influenced him in a life-changing way, so did the people at Anteiku including Touka, Hinami and the rest of them.

원 지

i feel bad for carlie T.T lmao

MooBong

I think it'd be great if while you're reading the manga you upload a small video every couple of Volumes and discuss your thoughts. Maybe even choosing a favourite panel/page from each Volume. Just a thought.

Moody

I hope you two enjoyed! Just adding that like the others said, s2 is still really worth it and would give you a good way to exit the series too

Mrhalloween

Season 2 has some cool stuff in it, I don't think anyone would really realize it's true inadequacy unless they read the whole manga, I'd say it's worth watching and then you can always read later if you want to.

Moody

I wanna point out btw that in chapter 1 of the manga, Kaneki says "If you were to write a story with me in the lead role, it would certainly be a tragedy."

David

Hoping yall do season 2, id say that’s the last good season

Jeff

Please watch the ova with hisoka here i think its Tokyo Ghoul: "Pinto" only one episode

Xaniss
>>156733224

it's the WORST one... it's almost entirely anime original lmao, they caught up to th manga.

Xaniss

Aaaaand... now the rest of the anime sucks... it's all anime original or rushed as hell from here.

AngelFr0m Sky

Dang, ive forgot how good was season 1 was. I need a remake of the anime, cuz the history and characters in this anime, Its just so good. The piano and the opening following the pain in kanekis voice, the crazy jason personality and, the tentative and soft but kinda sad voice of rize. Hits so hard. I dont remember that much about season 2 but i remember kinda liking. I think the anime get a rly bad downgrade is in season 3.

angelalala

Carlie's so relatable xD "0 rewatchability" is how I felt for the manga as well xD If it weren't for you guys reacting to it, I don't think I would've considered watching the anime. It was fun to remember some details I'd forgotten, since I read the manga ages ago. Kaneki's transformation definitely stayed with me, because it represented the death of Kaneki ver.1. As a manga reader, I thought it was an interesting way to end the season. Definitely felt like they were rushing the story along in the last few episodes, cutting things off so as to leave enough relevant information about the CCG vs Aogiri clash, but they did the fight with Jason pretty well. Loved the piano-only soundtrack that transitioned into "Unravel". Thanks for the reactions and hope you guys have a good holiday season!

Jeff

damn made in abyss might be too much for carlie lmao

As an anime-only watcher, I thought S2 was just as good as S1. It did some things better, and it did some things worse. Honestly, I think you shouldn't watch Tokyo Ghoul if you're only going to watch S1 because S1 ends on such an interesting point. For me S3 was the absolute worst, like by far, not even close. I gave S1 and S2 an 8/10 and then S3 a 5/10.

Magic Wuf
>>156733224

S2 story is absolute trash and makes 0 sense. It butchers the story with 0 logic behind any decision made by Kaneki.

Fauzan Alamsyah

Season2 has some cool stuffs but I still think it isn't worth it to be on this channel. If you want to know what happens after kaneki "eating" jason and all the details that might have left behind in season1, just try reading the manga. Better move on to other interesting shows.

CK C

The good old days: Tokyo Ghoul, Attack on Titan. You guys should also watch Noragami, Parasyte , Psycho Pass S1.

CK C
>>156867052

Yeah, especially AOT and parasyte, these anime ended so good. I just realized that most of the anime I like and ended well are from the 2010s😭😭😭 2020s still got some like chainsaw man. But not that much compared to the 2010s.

Season 2 was as good visually and production wise as season 1 unlike later seasons but plot wise and character motivation and their choices made 0 sense. The fact that it completely deviates from manga instead of just doing the same thing in a different way doesn't help in making it extra confusing if you want to pick up manga or season 3 after that, but the writing simply isn't good even without that.

heileen

season 2 was good, i hope you guys do react to it! yes, it doesnt follow the manga (which it sounds like is the main reason some people are disagreeing). i agree season 3 & 4 arent worth reacting to but thats fine and personally, the ending of season 2 felt complete for me anime-wise (a bit similar to how i felt watching the hunter x hunter ending even though its not technically the end). if you did truly like this then i think you guys would find it enjoyable and id love to watch your reaction. but its up to you guys! also, i believe season 1 ends at around chapter 60 in the manga so if you end up wanting to experience the manga version, you can pick up from there or just read from the beginning

Mitch

Gotta watch Season 2 you can't just leave it on that cliff hanger, what's going to happen to Kaneki after his huge change? What about all his friends that came to save him? What about that big ghoul on the roof the CCG was freaking out over? You gotta watch it!

Nozlund
>>156733224

nah you are just blinded by manga. ive read the manga and season 2 is still great.

usopps nose

personally I had no clue what was going on in season 2. I watched it when I first started getting into anime, so maybe that's on me. I remember not enjoying it at all, even as someone who hasn't read the manga. I rewatched the first ep a few years ago and I still didn't like it. I recommend watching it in your own time to see whether or not you like it ! that way you won't feel obligated to post reactions.

Erick O

I personally enjoyed season 2. I understand it is nothing like the manga, but I thought it was still better than your average anime. Do I hope for a reboot? Of course. As it stands though I think all the seasons are still above average when compared to your normal anime.

Polo Ponaz

I know im kind of late to comment but i'll still do it, it's not just season 2 that is unfaithful, season 1 is too, it's just acceptable and nothing compared to what they did with season 2. Because it's not that season 2 is just bad or unfaithful, it's a kind of unfaithful that ruins the entire show and all of the events, so you should definitely go for the manga, as the art is considered one of the greats, and the story is amazing !

Sylisen E.

If Tsukiyama is not your goat Ange, he is surely mine XD

season 2 was good imo, obv not as good as the source material but in its own way, season 3 on the other hand was straight garbage.

Brandon

I became a member bc of Tokyo Ghoul so if you watch season 2 I’ll be here for that and even though season 2 is a little different from the manga I still enjoyed it very much. However season 3 is mostly bad.😔 Eto is the only reason I watched it lol☺️😏

AK raps

Guys please do s2 as well 🙏🙏🙏

S

Any chance we are getting season 2?

Arie

It's been a while for me but I read the entire manga (including re:) before watching the anime and don't recall ever being as upset about it as everyone seems to be. It was definitely not the same and a bunch was left out but I still don't get the hate 🥺 I honestly think it's worth continuing (even if it's on your own and not for the channel), especially if you plan to read the manga for the whole story. I've had plenty of ppl tell me stuff is good or bad and ended up feeling the opposite after, but you can't know for yourself if you don't watch. Just a personal opinion/trait ofc but I like experiencing the whole story even if I don't enjoy it 100% of the time. At the very least, I agree with the others who want s2 reactions, I think it ends in a way that is less of a cliffhanger if you plan to not watch more after it. P.S. manga still 100x better tho 👌 some of my favorite art Either way, you guys are great and your reactions for other shows are just as fun 🩵

Sabrina_In_Horrorland

Please please watch Season 2 if you liked the Characters =( It is still good and intense.

JiLuz

Hope you guys give a try to s2

Jorge

I dont know if you guys should watch season 2 but as someone who has seen all of the anime including TG Re and read the manga, without making spoilers this is what is wrong with the rest of the anime, season 2 is completely different aside for a few scenes almost all of it is anime original they tried to finish the story similar to how the manga ended but it didn't make any sense and its so confusing that you must read the manga to fill in the holes, now TG Re is the same the first part they stuck to the manga story and it so peak (even tho if you only watch the anime you are going to be so confused cause the beginning of TG Re only makes sense if you read the anime) but the second part even tho they stuck to the events and the story of the manga it is super rushed all of the main events of the manga where adapted to a lot of the dialogues that give depth to the characters were cut they adapted a story that could easily been 30-40 anime ep in 12 ep, so I think reading the manga is essential to understand what the writer wanted to accomplish with this tragic story and watching the anime is just enjoying the story thru a different medium where you have to fill in the holes with manga

Addison Tonks

in my opinion you guys should watch season 2 it may start as a bit confusing but it all ends up making sense and i think you guys would love it especially Ange because Kaneki becomes an absolute loose unit.

Addison Tonks
>>160093846

tbh its all personal preference season 1 and 3 were my favourites but the show is a let down from the manga.

R4IN

pls do season two its a little different from the manga but all the insane and good parts are in the second season

Bear

You guys gonna watch season 2

Makirella
