worst cliffhanger !!! noo

FTN Chicken

The Taro and Hana theme is probably the most over-the-top love theme I have ever heard, but I can't lie it really gets you hyped. Also, brutal dig at Blue Lock, Carlie. That was tough to hear, but accurate :(

Looks like it’ll be back in July 2025! They probably confirmed it that quickly because of the cliffhanger lmao. Btw I looked up what the songs Okarun & Jiji were singing at the beginning were (they sounded like an OP but I couldn’t place it) and turns out they’re the OP & ED of Slam Dunk.

The cliffhanger was disrespectful 😂

The "talisman" papers can also be curses. To me it looked like someone/something is cursing jijis house and in turn his family. I really liked this anime. The cliffhanger was brutal but it'll keep me hyped until the next season! I think it could be a top 3 anime for me if it continues the way it's been going into the next season.

The song Okarun and Jiji started singing was the opening and ending song for Slam Dunk. Slam Dunk is the most popular sports manga/anime from the 90s. I would say, Slam Dunk is kind of like the Dragonball Z of sports anime. It’s about basketball and it skyrocketed the popularity of the sport in Japan in the 90s. I actually think you guys would love SlamDunk. From what I remember there is also a love triangle in slamdunk with two guys and a girl, so that’s probably why they referenced the songs this episode. Okarun was singing the ending song, and Jiji sang the opening song. I think it also shows these two love the same things and will be great friends.

Better soccer animation than Blue Lock is so cold……… and so TRUUUUUUUUUEEEEEEEEEE 💀💀💀

Un perro!

Had to go and read the manga chapter that comes after this ep cause that cliffhanger made me feel so uneasy, there was no need to end it there

Wish they would react to it. I'd love an excuse to rewatch. It shaped my childhood and goddamn Sakuragi was an awesome protagonist. He's like Jiji with the over-the-topness. LMAO.

Jay rellim

jiji is so freaking funny and i love how they animate him 😭

Waver

"Carlie you can't say that. It is, it is. But you can't say that." LMAO she killed Blue Lock

July couldn’t come fast enough tbh! Neither of us have seen Slam Dunk unfortunately, but that must’ve been cool for the fans!

Top 3 is amazing! It’ll definitely rank extremely high for us if it can keep up the quality. What are your other top shows?

Hahaha that’s such a cute tie in, I can’t wait for those two to be best friends 🤞🏼 Also ‘dragon ball z of sports anime’ sounds very promising 👀

So it looks like they already have the next set of episodes in hand, trailer for season 2 just dropped - it was just an arbitrary decision to have a 7 month break in between the cours -_- Guess the awful cliffhanger was really just to get people to buy the manga are you guys going to react to the trailer?

Heavenly Delusions and Frieren at this point! There are others but I think those are my favorite. Which is saying a lot cause those all came out recently. Anime is on a rise!

!! Oh they just dropped the Season 2 trailer!! Guess they really, *really* felt bad after that cliffhanger haha

Mesha

That shot at blue lock came outta nowhere 😭😂😂

Yep it was the big sports anime hit of the 90s and basically made the genre popular. I would recommend to at least watch the opening and ending songs in your spare time. It's a 90s anime so I don't know how much demand is there for a reaction to it, but I would be glad to watch it.

That was funny on so many levels: the ED lyrics Okarun sings are directed at Momo, while he does basketball defensive moves on Jiji. Jiji misinterprets this as some sort of Slam Dunk song game and sings the OP (also a love song lol) while doing the same moves xD, but it fits because he seems to have feelings for Momo as well? These songs are classic for the Japanese audience (I believe even most non-anime watchers in Japan would know them). Slam Dunk was to basketball in Japan back in the day what Haikyuu!! was to Volleyball. Directly influenced the popularity of the sport within the nation.
