We're not sure how we're going to tackle Season 2 at the moment because we are doing so many shows, but you'll see us slowly get through it here and there. No edited reactions just yet until we decide how we want to tackle youtube uploads because of the lack of interest people have in the show at the moment. Ikr?? The second I heard it I was so eagerly waiting to hear your cover version haha! Would love to see you guys' reaction to the Opening as well in case you haven't seen it already because the visuals are also just as stunning (of course whenever you have the time to film it) Also the ending is like a song that Jinshi sings to Maomao and it's just as beautiful. Maybe something you can add to your watch list as well for later. 😃

Well that's normal for shows like Apothecary Diaries. Just think back to the start of the second cour, with all those "incident of the week" like seemingly unconnected events that eventually all connected and culminated in a big ass conspiracy.

Maomao's name translates directly to the animal! That's what the Emperor and Jinshi were referring to when they were surprised considering her name. Māo means 'cat.' Whereas, like Carlie was thinking of the sound, Miāo would mean 'meow.'

I went back and rewatched the part of "the murder" Ange reminded us of at the end of the episode... the person who got attacked looks to be the same person that caught the cat for Maomao later? Idk, they look like the same character to me lol.

Maomao was trying to smuggle in the Kama Sutra where as the Emperor is getting them hooked on steamy Harlequin Romances. Our MC's name is (catcat) and the kitten is named (furfur) but the Chinese character for cat and fur are both pronounced Mao so we get MC Maomao and kitten Maomao. The Emperor has a sense of humor and probably puns.

I am just going to assume if people thought/knew who Jinshi really was he'd have a bunch of responsibilities thrust upon him and probably also forced to try to find a bride. Maybe even have his own concubines, none of them would be who he wants though but it's all politics and you can't really say no. Look at Lishu, the Emperor isn't interested in her but it's a political move so she's in the rear palace.
