The degeneracy commences 😆 But the lore. world building and story telling is looking really good

Comments

Silver

Believe or not. That last 5 seconds is one of the most important 5 seconds of the show so far

zzip711

"Foxy" lmao please

Zonbi

They're gonna quit within the next 4 or 5 episodes, but at least the first few episodes still have some cool moments lol

alexander rios

I'm pretty sure it was his parents funeral and he wasn't there because he was up in his room being a bum and the people in suits that came and kicked him out where his younger brothers/family

FTN Chicken

Oh dear, if Carlie hits her limit 1.5 episodes in, there's really no hope XD

Ehlek70

The 7 ranks of magic: 1. Beginner 2. Intermediate 3. Advanced 4. Sacred 5. Royal/King 6. Imperial/Emperor 7. Divine Also it's "Roxy" not "Foxy" ;D

Evan Valenti

Personally dropped it after this episode. If they do drop it, I hope it is because they want to drop it. Not from controversy.

FTN Chicken

MT was one of the first couple anime I’d ever seen and that shot of Roxy and Rudy casting the saint-level water spell not only convinced me about this show but also made me a fan of anime full stop. (Sucks though because there’s literally no way I would be able recommend this show to anyone I know 😅)

shamel black
>>167868069

It sounds hilarious when you consider that, but it's true those 5 seconds are monumental to the show moving forward.

Paperbeef

Basically he didnt go to his parents funeral and his brothers after that decided to kick him out, and saint is the fourth of the seventh tiers, and while despite the similarities i dont think frieren is much inspired by mushoku, the novel was one of the first isekais so a lot of others of this genre are

Vojee

You guys should react to Goblin Slayer, Mushoku reminds me of that anime for some reason

DemoniCross

Glad you're giving this a shot <3

TheAnimeJunkie
>>167869675

As far as I remember, there is really only one blatantly bad scene left and the rest is just comments in his head every now and then. After the first half of season 1 though it basically disappears

Joshua Lopez

Eh, I wouldn't say Frieren is at all like Mushoku Tensei. I think they're just much more traditionally rooted fantasy worlds, which all have a lot of similarities. Generally, anything that you see like this are more Dungeons and Dragons/Dragon Quest styled worlds with dungeons and stuff. More of your Record of the Lodoss War, Grimgar, Mahoujin Guruguru type anime.

DemoniCross

Things you talked about in the discussion: (not spoiler, just cut from the LN) 1- The funeral was his parents' funeral, they died in an accident together. The people who beat him up were his brothers. He didn't attend the funeral and instead was.. umm.. you know.., that was a line crossed for them so they kicked him out. 2- About Frieren being inspired, I'm not sure specifically, but almost all isekai stories, especially Light Novels, draw heavy inspiration from MT. It was one of the first who popularized the genre in the LN space and setup the tropes and explored isekai story telling. It's also a big series with (24?) volumes. 3- Its "Roxy" not "Foxy" lmao. Picturing Foxy from Long Ring Long Land teaching magic was funny

Jeff

You will get more of the backstory throughout, and without going into any spoilers but to give you some outlook on the degeneracy, think how people who grow up in an abusive household have a decent chance at becoming abusers themselves. Same thing with drugs, you grow up with parents on drugs, you either get on them yourself or break the cycle. Terrible experiences can create terrible people. As others have said, Rudy is written to so you are disgusted by him at first, but now he's been reincarnated he has a second chance. An opportunity to heal and change.

Racc

Are they calling Roxy "Foxy" on purpouse? 😂😂😂

Gabriel Barott
>>167871420

I almost dropped it after this ep, but I kept going and it got better. The degeneracy mostly continues, but it seems lighter imo (i haven't finished S1).

Melody

When it comes to reincarnation, the closer comparison would be Aqua from Oshi no Ko. But yeah we don’t and won’t know how reincarnation really works or how it affects a person’s interests and senses and everything. It’s up to our own imaginations

Matthias

this show is glorifying pedophilia btw, sad and weird that so many poeple are into it.

Seth Leloup

I hope you guys stick with it. Some people are way too over sensitive about stuff. Japan is a different culture and there are infinite amounts of anime way more over the line than Mushoku. This anime is actually very heartfelt and instropective over even those negative aspects.

Noctis

im really looking forward to the rest of the shows reactions! it can be a little rough i wont deny it but the scenes in-between those are so worth it this show is so good and worth its praises

Seth Leloup
>>167883066

If you can point to a single time where it is put out through a positive lens, I'll accept your point. Rudeus behavior is never portrayed as a good thing or as positive. But I get it, you can't deal with a story full of fictious drawings.

Seth Leloup

For clarity about the funeral. You guys might not know about hikikomori or NEETs. Basically people that give up on society and become shut-ins, similar to subaru in Re:zero for example. In the context of Mushoku, without spoiling anything ahead. That was the funeral of someone from his family, which is implied at this point are who is tending to him (giving him food when he bangs around and demands for it, etc). And even then, once the person died, he kept holed inside his room masturbating instead of attending, so the other family members kicked him out.

Matthias
>>167883066

dude rudeus is rewarded for having sex with chidlren. he never question is action or anything and never get punished for what he did. He has sex with multiple minors and everyone fcking celebrating it, every fan of this trash always try to defend him btw, it's insane. Some guy in the poll even said 'you have to look at it from a very realistic perspective rudeus actions are similar to what a real person would do" ????? WTF, this guys basicly self reported has a pdf saying that to him it would be normal to seek sexual relationship with children if he was in that situation. All of you mt fan are actually super messed up.

Brian Meza
>>167877840

MT has 26 volumes, actually the anime is in vol 12 i guess or maybe mid 13

DemoniCross
>>167883066

The guy asked for something to back up your claim, and you just spewed some bullshit back. Saying that people are something for watching a show that has that something in it is beyond stupid. Watching a piece of fiction is NOT endorsing the actions or topics discussed in it. Playing and enjoying GTA does not make you a gangster and a murderer. Look, I get it, Mushoku Tensei has some controversial elements, and not everyone is going to be comfortable with them. That’s fair. But the series isn’t trying to glorify those things; it’s about exploring a flawed character and his journey to grow as a person. Rudeus starts as a messed-up individual, and the story doesn’t shy away from showing how his actions have consequences. And let’s be real, just because someone enjoys a story with problematic themes doesn’t mean they support those themes in real life. Fiction is a space to explore complex, uncomfortable, and even dark ideas—it doesn’t mean the audience condones them. If you can’t separate fiction from reality, that’s on you, not the fans. (SPOILERS BEWARE) The only time he had the seggs with a young girl, he faced years of trauma and ED. How is that a reward? The show again and again portrays Rudeus's perverted actions as a weakness of his, and most of the time he immediately reaps the consequences.

Arshes Nei
>>167883066

Then don't watch it easy, remember its just a show if you think it realistically then you are the one who is disturbed, personally I enjoyed mushoku tensei because of the world building and the story, sure the disturbed elements was bad but the story doesn't revolves on that and in addition it won the poll so I don't think it was a trash anime, you just called it trash because you personally don't like the morals.

Matthias
>>167883066

LMAO and how did he fix his ED ?? by having sex with that other elf kid he lowkey groomed and that was like a whole fcking arc. Also it's insane how mt fans clearly don't read a lot of other manga, I love how you always try to talk about it like it's somehow the most complexed andadvanced piece of writing while it's completly in line with his isekai trope and is basicly an incel fantasy. I've been reading manga and watching anime for 20 years, I've explored all genres, all era, pushed myself to read and watch stuff that didn't interested me at first glance etc... Mushoku tensei is a basicly the solo leveling of isekai anime, every one and their mother gonna tell you it's insane but the truth is they just don't watch or read much of anything and it's actually kinda bad. But atleast solo leveling doesn't have a fcking main character seeking out sexual intercourse with goddamn children.

Melody

According to haters’ logic, people who enjoy Daemon Targaryen’s character are pedo and perv. Daemon didn’t get reincarnated btw so he really is into his niece in his adult's body. He also watched her grow. People just need to keep an open mind with MT like when they're watching other shows. If they still don't like it, it's fine but don't ruin other people's viewing experience

Urami-Chan

I don't know if you guys have mods in the comments but I would recommend it. A lot of the same individuals saying nasty stuff from the polls are still here saying nasty comments and misinformation.

xOkami

If you guys can BARE or ignore the perversion in anyway possible, you'll have a good time with the shows story and world building. That being said, the perversion is part of the show... but if you guys can make past a certain couple of scenes in the next couple of episodes... and after THAT ONE SCENE you'll make it through the rest of the show just fine.

AngelFr0m Sky

There is a lot of wholesome moments and well written in the show. I hope you guys enjoy the road and bear the uncomfortable ones. And be patient with rudy, hes gonna grow on you guys slowly. Love your reaction guys and please stop saying foxy to roxy, its kinda fun but gives me ocd xd.

Gagan

People expect you to ignore all the terrible qualities this main character has even though it keeps throwing it to our faces almost every episode, being bullied doesn't give an excuse to be a pervert honestly this show would have been great without all that stuff.

Matthias
>>167883066

Once again, they were literaly people in the poll saying that rudeus action where realist and that what a "normal real person" would do in his situation. You're on the side of Pedophilia that's as simple as that.

Matthias
>>167883066

How do I report mushoku tensei fans for celebrating adult having sex with childrens ?

지원

Great

Zarathos Daimaoh
>>167897606

The main character himself knows he was a bad person and can still be. Like someone said below as an example , it's also not as if knowing that Daemon Targaryen is a bad person, prevents people from enjoying the character and story. Both things can easily happen and coexist

Daaylen Watson

It think the best thing about this show is that Rudy is a sucky person, But even bad people can have good qualities. It’s not black and white, People are complex. What I like about this show is it is an organic world with bad things happening along the good. This show doesn’t hide it from you and instead leans into it. He is someone who has not lived among society and it really shows.

Evan Valenti

The men in the suits were his brothers. They caught him masturbating to his child niece with a camera in the bathroom. Some people deserve to be ostracized.

Voers
>>167901417

Pretty sure the author omitted that niece detail in the official LN, Rudy was still watching some degen shit, but he didn't go that far. Rudy is pretty much a scumbag already its not necessary for the comments to add stuff that was removed.

Vilicity
>>167901417

You can see the rubber ducky and bathtub in the anime, so its in the anime.

Aaron Wright

Stick with it, Rudy is a complex, real character. Its not like he's a good person at first, made for us to like, more like we've stuck a camera into the mind of some weirdo. Once you hit an episode called Turning point, its all smooth sailing from there

지원

Carlie's reaction is so funny i feel you

SlippinGymy
>>167897606

Show is great, idk anyone that actually thinks Rudy is a good person in season 1 and if you do you probably got issues

SlippinGymy
>>167894719

But you have to understand, Daemon Targaryen was attractive, so that made it okay s/

Mobi_fiufiu

The best thing about Mt is character development, breaking trauma is the begining

RS

Here's what I would suggest to anyone who wants to watch this show, treat this as an adult tv show/ movie and you'll be fine. Often times when there are explicit scenes in that kind of media, nobody bats an eye. Just because this is an anime, everyone seems to be on edge and hypocritical.

Mobi_fiufiu
>>167897606

This is not meant to be a excuse, it show what leaded him to the point he is in now, peoples are not born being trash like that. And no you dont have to treat him like an Angel because of that, knowing the reason doesn't excuse him, it let the peoples watching understand him as a character

Ryuuji Gremory
>>167883066

Found the chronically online twittertard with no media literacy that uses lies and half truths as arguments.

hsyer

IIRC, the people in the suits are his younger brothers, and he missed either his mother or father's funeral. And it's Roxy, not Foxy. TT

Nethzil
>>167914370

Perfect example that shouldn`t need any explanation but sometimes we all can miss something this obvious.

Seth Leloup
>>167883066

Not a single person here celebrated anything. You're the only one fixated on the topic. And I get it, maybe you have something inside you and you have to do your best virtue signaling, since you're afraid people might realize it. But don't worry. No one knows you here, no one gives a fuck. You can moan and cry all you want, it'll still be a fictional show. The fact you go out of your way to say outrageous shit like this, but you don't do the same when people are watching shows about murder, torture, etc, says only about you, not about anyone else.

ImZeaT
>>167901417

That was only in the web novel, in any other adaptation (light novel, anime, manga, etc.) it's l*li h*nt*i. Still degenerate but at least it's not his niece.

TheAnimeJunkie
>>167878000

Who was underage at that point in the story? If I recall, you are trying to spoil something that happens YEARS later when they are very much grown adults in this series. But go off king, keep up the agenda

Cola

When I first watched this show I thought to myself why would they give us the weirdest unrealistic person around as a protagonist. Since then I came across the concept of "hikikomori" that is quite famous in Japan. Apparently, there are a lot of stay in home people in Japan that hate going out and their numbers are continuing to increase, a real problem in Japan. This show I'd say is very related to an issue Japan is facing. Wonderful world, but I still dropped this show.

Matthias
>>167897606

thank you for telling the truth sad there are so many crazu weird people around here.

Matthias
>>167894719

ho I both hate deamon and rudeus equally along with each and everyone of MT PDF fans gloryfying and defending Rudeus. Both MT and that got spin off are trash.

Matthias
>>167883066

and yet you all try to defend a pdf like it's your fkcing mother. The hill i'm standing on is nice, it gots emerald grass and pretty colorful flower while you out there on the danm mountain of destiny. I hope you get what's coming for you pdf.

Matthias
>>167883066

lmao sorry boy I don't have time to be on social media and keep up with your brain rot, all I know is you enjoy watching a show where the adult mc has sex with children and thinks it's normal for him to do that. Karma will get you eventually.

Melody
>>167894719

1. You’re in your own world — ignoring / misunderstanding the key points of what other fans and I are trying to say in the comment section of the reaction videos and poll 2. I saw you twist what I said in a previous post into something else under someone’s comment I didn’t want to reply to you in spite of 1-2, but here you are again, so I just wanted to say that I hope you can stop being an irrational hater, live a good life, respect others and please let C&A figure things out on their own

smiv
>>167871420

I'd disagree with that; i stuck with mt for a while because I heard that rudy gets better, but he never really did.

Tyler Owens

I uhhh have a feeling y’all won’t like this show. The hypersexualization of women and questionable MC honestly made me uncomfortable enough to drop it

greyxwaren

ngl i am pretty sick of defenders of this show praising it every drop but im gonna hold my tongue and i implore others who also dislike this show to do the same and not spoil or ruin the show for C&A out of spite. it won the polls, they decided to watch. there’s that. either two things will happen, they either drop the show early, like i did. or stick with it to the end to see the promised “character development” and end up being disappointed like my brother. he insisted on watching till the end and was like “why tf did i even waste my time” just don’t spoil it on them, they can judge for themselves like they always have. if they like it they like it, if they don’t they don’t

DemoniCross
>>167883066

(MORE SPOILERS) You’re conflating character flaws with narrative endorsement. Rudeus “fixing” his ED through a relationship clouded by his own baggage isn’t framed as a triumph, it’s part of his messy, ongoing struggle to grow. The story doesn’t shy away from showing how his actions harm others (including himself), even if consequences aren’t always immediate. Calling it “incel fantasy” ignores the entire point of his arc: he starts as a garbage human being and spends the story trying (and often failing) to be better. If you think that’s glorification, you’re missing the subtext. As for complexity, nobody’s claiming it’s Shakespeare. But reducing it to “Solo Leveling with pedophilia” is lazy. It’s a character-driven story in a genre dominated by power fantasies. You don’t have to like it, but dismissing fans as media-illiterate says more about your gatekeeping than their taste. Bottom line: Criticize the show all you want, but equating fiction with real-world morality just makes you look like you can’t engage with art beyond surface-level outrage.

Graham
>>167960691

For sure, I like the show a lot but I’ve got nothing but understanding for people who aren’t willing to put up with Rudy’s numerous irredeemable actions. If they decide to drop it that’s totally fair, and I hope people don’t spoil it out of spite.

Graham
>>167936933

There are guys like Rudy in every country in the world, unfortunately.

Graham
>>167897606

What? No! You definitely *should not* ignore how gross Rudy is. That’s like, the entire point of the show right now. Who are these people who are expecting Carlie and Ange to ignore that? Where are they? I need to talk shit to them for making excuses for Rudy. Edit: I found one, like three comments under yours. People have no media literacy. Acting like you’re supposed to ignore the gross shit to just enjoy the “wholesome” stuff and action, it’s like they turn their brain off for half the show.

Graham
>>167895382

Telling people to ignore Rudy’s perversion is wild. Passive media-consumer-ass take. You should be focusing on it, catching how uncomfortable he makes Lillia and Roxy by being a pre-pubescent child who’s predatorily horny. It’s literally the most thematically important content in the show right now.

Squall-2170
>>167960691

I agree with your initial point about not spoiling, but then you proceed to tell us about your brother's view of the main character's development or lack thereof. How about we wait and allow Carlie and Ange to make the decision. If they drop it then you get your wish. If they continue then I hope you and everyone else that isn't happy about them watching it, respects their decision to do so.

Zen Kiren

I hope you can take this show to the end🙏

Zen Kiren

The Funeral that has one empty seat which is for old rudy is actually Rudy's old Parents Funeral, and the people who kick him out of his house is his brother, that's all i can say for now, it's not a spoiler i believe

greyxwaren
>>167960691

"hold my tongue" about my own grievances about the show, i.e why i dont like it...in detail......my comment was targeted to those who are actively spoiling the show because they dont like it, have you even read my comment? MT fans keep proving they can't read lmao like what do u want? you want me to also join in and spoil or what?

greyxwaren
>>167960691

also squall, my comment is for those spoiling, expressing my own experience (literally only sat down for 4 episodes, or my brothers (which i dont know in detail) is not spoiling anything, you guys already done a great job of prepping C&A saying the beginning is rough and to put up with it, that's literally the same thing as omitting and being vague. also im not watching or stopping by any MT post i dont even interact, it just so happens to be the first thing i see on it was people spoiling which is why said something i don't understand why yall are STILL mad lol

Yam
>>167960691

The show is about a terrible person that do their best to improve in every single aspect of his life, you don't have to be mad, its a good show with good music, good animation, good plot about a terrible person that wants to change

Yam
>>167936933

I do think Rudy as a characters is pretty realistic, there are plenty of people like him, that would do the same if they had the chance, thats the world we living, but the point here is about rudy slowly changing to become a better person

Yam
>>167901417

Yeh this is a story of a terrible person that is trying to mature and stop being such a scumbag, that doesn't change all the sht he have done in the past tho but if you watch it till the end you understand his development

Raul Velazquez
>>167960691

Man you guys are so childish, let them develop their own opinion of the show stop throwing tantrums.

Raul Velazquez

Idk why people have such an issue with this show, there’s some questionable moments for sure but it’s definitely an anime meant for adults not anyone younger than that.

Synnel
>>167960691

I feel like you said you should hold your tongue but didnt hold your tongue at all lmao

Synnel

I'm new to patreon but I didn't think the comments would be more toxic than youtube lol some people really just need to not watch something that is going to make them mad

Jack Mullen

It wouldn't be Rudeus without the last 5 seconds 🤣 As much as this show has some questionable moments the whole thing is amazing and definitely one of my favourites from the story telling to the animation and the world building especially in season 1. You guys are in for a treat with this one

Alex

mushoku tensei is the father of isekai , it made the rules for isekai genre lolll

The Great Santini
>>167960691

Why even mention that bit about your brother? Why even comment on a show you're not watching along with?

Jason

A little note regarding Roxy being a demon: Translating "mazoku" (魔族) into "demon" is a little bit confusing, it's nothing to do with the demon we are familiar with, it's more like a race of people that have demonic roots. It's like elves in classic fantasy being half divine half mortal, "mazoku" (魔族) is half demonic half mortal. Edit: this is an explanation for the word "mazoku" (魔族) in general, not exclusively to this world setting.

Jason
>>167914370

You know in eastern cultural norms, violence/gore content are viewed just as bad as lewd/explicit content, I am actually kinda curious why in the west, anime shows with extreme violence are generally easier to accept or even celebrate, compare to fan services and similar stuff being off putting.

Navagram

People in the comments need to grow up. This is a show for a mature audience with a mature theme. If an anime or a Game of Thrones season has murder and heinous acts, it does not mean that now it is endorsing murder or normalizing it. Likewise, if someone committed a massacre in a crime movie you're **supposed** to hate him. Duh. We don't need to drop in the comments "UGH another murder, I can't stomach movies where they kill the working guy with a family and torture him" every episode, but this is exactly what people do to this show. It is extremely silly. Here you are supposed to hate and see this ugly part of Rudy. Yes he is the main character. That's the point. He's a bum and a degenerate. This later on will be exactly the feature that distinguishes it from other run-of-the-mill plots. No need to virtue signal to other people so you can feel like a self-righteous moral person. Just drop all anime and TV shows all together and never watch anything that has murder in it again then and spare us.

Renaud Nadeau
>>167870703

It was more so because he hasn't left his room in like 20 years but yeah, parents funeral and his siblings kicked him out right after.

SlippinGymy
>>168292200

Kinda right, any "demon" in this world is any race that sided with Laplace in the war

Renaud Nadeau
>>167878000

They are calling it underage because they are comparing that worlds moral values to their own modern day ones. Which is dumb to do with fiction.

Orion
>>167936933

It's almost like human beings aren't defined by a singular characteristic and consist of multitudes, created by their experience of life, the way they've been treated, their innate strengths and weaknesses, and can show both positive and negative behaviours depending on the situations they're presented with. The unfortunate thing is that society fails children that are systematically abused by their peers, ignored by their teachers and custodians, and are so deeply emotionally scarred that they feel like they have no recourse in life but to remain in a state of arrested development, living only to gratify their most base instincts.

Orion

The lack of interpretational nuance in this comments section is absolutely staggering.

Lou Sassle

I respect people being on the prude-ish side when it comes to sexual content but I think people need to realize MT is a show meant for a mature audience. Having a scene where a young woman masturbates to the sound of a passionate couple going at it isn't necessarily, like, "gross," IMO. It's kinda just like... something that could happen IRL. Rudy's behavior is cringey for SURE and I believe it's meant to be but that scene with Roxy never really struck me as an "Idk about this show" moment. It was more like, "Damn, they went there." That said, there will be at least one scene this season that will make you VERY uncomfortable. It's up to you at that point to decide if the rest of the show makes up for it.

The Great Santini
>>167901417

Why are you spreading lies about things that are NEVER even HINTED at in the anime/light novel? From my interpretation of it, his brothers got pissed at him because he was at home watching porn instead of attending his parents' funeral. It was a simple as that.

The Great Santini
>>167897606

Who is expecting anyone to ignore those facts? The show throws it in your face very clearly because you're NOT supposed to ignore it. You're supposed to cringe at it and judge the character based on their development.

The Great Santini
>>167869675

That would be disappointing because it gets so incredibly good after that one bad scene. I feel like they have the ABILITY to just talk their feelings out (a la Semblance of Sanity when they watched this show). They can say, "What Rudy did was '___' and he really crossed a line" or whatever they feel.

Lou Sassle

Let me just clear up that funeral bit: It was his parents' funeral. He did not attend because he was too busy jerking it to porn (and more importantly: he was a complete shut-in who never left his room for anything). His younger brothers come home from the funeral and beat his ass and then kick him out of the house because they'd had enough of his shit. That's really all there is to it.

Vilicity
>>167871420

He called Roxy a child, then sniffed her panties in his mid 30s. Also, what kinda werido writes a little girl masturbating to two parents having sex. What I said about the scene from his past is not misinformation. People like you just want to stay in denial that the MC is a incestual pedo. Lastly, researched manga spoilers after this episode that continued to disgust me like what is currently going on in it.

Shota Tsunamura

I’ll skip the funeral part I think the people took care of it for yu Glad yur picking up on Paul’s action keep doing that yu might understand Rudy better Mind the brain Not much for this episode of his baby brain overtaking the mind maybe his attachment to Roxy like little kids do but that’s a stretch to me, only Roxy picking up on how he acts his age at the most random of times is the big example this episode. Age counter start to end Ruddy is 3-5 years old this Episode. Letcher child.

Princely T

Ange's realization at the beginning was priceless hahaha

Daniel Griffiths

someone let me know, i just joined the patreon is there a playlist with no filters?

popers1328

I don't know how anyone can dislike this anime after this episode. That was so beautiful. It could end with this episode and be a masterpiece of it's own.

demonic-myst

Here some i fo on the bullying from the novel He used be a gifted kid in middle school but high school he strugled and had move to a school for deligiants and failuires , on his first day a kid pushed in line and he got in a argument with them That kid was actualy apart of a gang that even the teachers were scared of so when the gang began bully him the teachers didnt stop them
