In the scene where Robin tells everyone that she wants to live Zoro pulls out his sword a bit, and then puts it back into the sheathe. This is actually an old practice called "kincho" which was used by Samurai. The drawing and sheathing of the sword in order to make the metals hit each other signifies a vow that has been made and cannot be broken.

Ive seen this ep also read the manga around 50 times or so? Idk it always gets me i will never not cry when robin finally screamed out loud her will to live... as someone with severe depression who always fought against these demons I feel her so much and her whole jouney gave and still gives me so much 😭

Absolutely agree with the bounty robin got. Tho I would def give 500k to Luffy/Usopp. Luffy basically saying WHO CARES, DIE WITH Us then told usopp to shoot the flag. Gives me chills everytime. Usopp (usually gagging around) no-nonsense just shot the flag no question asked is pretty big considering who he is. Tho i can understand since Robin’s stuff overshadowed that stuff. But i gotta give credit to those 2.

i think its important to remember with marines like garp kuzan and coby that their side is not inherently bad because they also protect the citizens from evil pirates. not everyone is as nice as the strawhats

There are a lot of absolutely amazing moments in One Piece. These moment's speak to us as viewers in such different ways, and everyone has different views on which moment is the best. Out of all the moments in One Piece, the "I want to Live!" moment is a majority favorite and I think that has to do with how Oda was able to capture the essence of the fundamental human needs of safety, love, and belonging. Both physiological and psychological needs that we as humans, consciously or unconsciously, seek. It's masterclass writing.

How do ussop and luffy always get screwed over. Luffy challenges the world government and ussop with not a single fear in his heart reveals his new weapon and attack and struck the flag. The character moments for both luffy and ussop never get praised.

Feels a little wrong for Usopp and Luffy especially to not get any bounty. Luffy is the one who inspired Robin to say her wish.

Fun fact: I don't remember the term but when Zoro pulls his blade out of its sheathe slightly, it's from a real life samurai custom that essentially means, "I promise with my life." It's a big early insight into Zoro's character and what is important to him.

Kinda agree that this was the best built-up character moments. There are other moments really big, but they comes very sudden. We thought when Iceburg reveal that Robin wanted to save Straw Hats from Buster Call was already big for her. Turns out the biggest moment was how she realize her true Nakama would declare war with most dangerous organization in the world to take on that burden together with her. Also, I love how Luffy is not saving Robin the same way he did back in Alabasta. This time he needs her to say out loud that she wants to live. It is no use just to save her life, he want to save her from the fear and broken heart as well

Anzu Nagai was the voice of young Robin and I think she was indeed around 12-13 at the time of voicing her (she's in her early thirties now)

I've seen this part of the show dozens of times and it still makes me cry every time (especially as an older person imagining poor Robin from age 8 just being wary of every single person being out to turn her in for a bounty) and her being scared that the straw hats will get tired of her and betray her and that's her real fear T_T

Randomly, I love that Luffy knows when to wait for someone to ask for help. Nami and Robin were similar in caring for the straw hates but pushing them away due to their own issues before finally caving and admitting they want help, which is when Luffy is ready willing and able to step in for his nakama, no matter what it takes

something a lot of reactors missed, Robin has never called a crewmember by their own name, only by job description, so she doesn't get attached to them. She calls Zoro swordsman, Luffy captain, Chopper doctor, Nami navigator but never their real names

the line that always makes me cry is when saul tells robin while she's crying to be proud and that she is honourable and her ppl are honourable. they're martyrs and robin carries their will, she's always thought the weight was a burden but she realizes her existence brings honor and pride to her people. it will always resonate with real world genocides too where ppl are killed for just existing, oda's storytelling is always inspiring and immaculate also want to add i agree with robin getting 10 mil minimum, "i want to live' is considered one of the top one piece moments in general not just bc of her past but bc of the themes her character arc brings to life. also agree with many others that luffy and usopp deserved bounty here. luffy who usually pinpoints one enemy and takes them down, realizes that robin's enemy is a whole system that has oppressed not only her but her ppl, it's a whole act of rebellion and usopp is the messenger of that like it's such a big moment in one piece and creates a shift in the intensity of the relationship between pirates and the wg. before it was pirates running away from the wg but now it's a stand from luffy that declares a war on everything the wg stands for, which is their ideologies and their practices it's absolutely epic

About Koby, the main storyline will be focused on the Strawhats but every so often there are times where you get glimpses of what is happening outside of the MC’s circle like what happened in Jaya with the warlord meeting. Things are always changing in the background of the OP world and Koby’s journey is one of them. 😉😉

I can’t believe usopp didn’t get any bounty for shooting through the flag, the guy is the most cowardly but when asked to declare war on the whole world he didn’t hesitate for a single second. It’s probably one of usopps greatest moment in the whole series.

Personally, I'd have given Robin the entire chest + 2M, Luffy the 3M and Sogesopp the 1M. Luffy and Usopp's gesture definitely should not be understated - they did NOT hesitate in the least, even Usopp, who's usually something of a Scooby Doo. I totally agree with giving Robin as much as possible, definitely.

Talking about the moment when Luffy first time met Miss All Sunday, the dramatic music was played as a backsound. I did not know why they chose that kind of music back then, but now that I think about it again, that was "a very beautiful moment". Being betrayed by people all of her life, Robin must had never thought even for once, that a fool-looking rubbery guy with a strawhat would turn her life forever. Dang it I am crying. Sorry for bad english.

Just had a thought when I saw the medals: maybe you could retroactively award medals to the strawhats for previous arcs (or sagas, like the entire East Blue one). Awarding bounties is excessive, but if assigning 1st, 2nd and 3rd place doesn't feel as too much work, thought it might be a good idea

10M to robin, 2M to luffy for the easy decision he made of shooting the world govt's flag, 1M for sogeking for instantly shooting that flag despite him being the most sensible straw hats that actually has a sense of danger (that's courage). Just my opinion though. 🥹
