I agree with what Carlie said about flashbacks in general at around 28 mins in the video. I didn't read the manga that much, but I believe they didn't do that in the manga and most flashbacks are added in by Toei Animation themselves to extend the length of some episodes therefore making them feel longer than they're supposed to. Hopefully these things are resolved once "The One Piece" is released by Wit Studio.

One Piece is special to me because the length of the story makes it feel like I’ve gone on a journey alongside the Straw Hats. Watching their story unfold over time, I’ve grown with the characters and felt part of their world.

The show is special to me because regardless of the fantastical elements and powers, the characters are very human. The emotions are real, and I feel like there are plenty of valuable life lessons to get from one piece. a lot of people grew up isolated from their family, like robin did, or had to grow up too fast like nami, etc And I love that this isn't just for the main characters. Anyways, there's a lot more to go, so, looking forward to the next arcs!

MrC4_Eyes

yall should react to gachiakuta

greyxwaren

my honest surprised reaction to ange's answer to taking chopper and robin to thriller bark: 😑😴 lol

So the first two cover stories (buggy/koby & helmeppo) was animated and slightly shortened for time but after they stopped doing strict adaptations of them. Jangos dance paradise was loosely adapted but had a slightly different plot and did not involve ussopps pirate. It was… a choice but pretty fun quick adaptation.

Wow interesting can't wait to watch. This week is gonna be stacked with MHA. Trust when we say 4x8 will leave you in awe. Watching 4x5 to 4x8 has you ending in a good spot.

Does anyone know What is their schedule for one piece? Is it from friday to sunday?

One Piece is my favorite series if you include manga + other mediums. In terms of anime, 2nd place after Hunter x Hunter. I watched during Covid while in college. So I mean its just has the place for me. Plus my roommate watched it after me and we love discussing it. So there is that too. I also like that arc quality are p inconsistent imo. Some arcs are the best thing ever, some are ok, there is one that I think p shit. Its real journey to watch One Piece for better or worse. I feel like Ange's favorite anime lowkey might be Bleach or Naruto. One Piece has great music, but since music is such a big part of his life, I feel like Bleach/Naruto's OST and openings will def get Ange super hyped up. Everyone I talk to praise their music, I dont see that much praise for OP and I think its p good. Tho Demon Slayer's music for me makes Demon slayer from a good anime with excellent animation to top tier anime. Music is really important imo. AoT is another show where music really elevates the show. Love the cover stories since they dont really involve the straw hat and if you take the time to read it makes the world feel really big.

I love these. super fun to see your guys opinon on stuff. tho its very time-consuming, so thanks for taking your time!

sumi

I think compared to Brook's, robin's backstory is sadder coz she also lost her people. Yes Brook was alone for long but so was robin in a way and she was a child which is sadder, how she went on living by herself after the tragedy with a bounty on her head at such a young age. Brook did have some good memories atleast with his crew and life, but robin only started enjoying life after she found strawhats.

Hakan Bakan

love it, absolute cinema

Q&A discussion was fun

Seeeyog

Loved the video, looking forward for future wrap up videos as well!🫡

I hope Ange is a great swimmer because he'd have to save Chopper and Robin if they fall into the water 😅. I'd personally take Sanji because he cooks and Franky since he could build us a boat and get outta there and they can both fight.

Burezu

Really glad you did this video. I always loved the SBS segments at the end of the videos and the longer discussions. Always happy for nearly an hour of One Piece content

Glad that I was right about the afro ! I will consider myself a wingman for this even though you're already married

In terms of what One Piece means to me: I've been watching the anime for 10 years now. I finally caught up to the anime 1.5 years ago and caught up to the manga the same night. I don't think that a single day goes by that I don't think about One Piece. Through rewatching it with you, reading new chapters and watching the new episodes. With a story that runs so deep and characters that are so interconnected in so many different ways, I really don't think anything else will ever come close to how One Piece makes me feel every single day. I may be a *little* in too deep, but I just really love this series. I could talk about One Piece for hours and still never run out of things to talk about. I've cried at more moments in this series than I have in any other piece of media. I've cried, laughed and just felt like life is worth living because I need to make it to see our pirate king reach his final dream. :)

Chop Chop Chopper

yes, Oda has got a type. He married a Nami cosplayer btw

kyllian

I had so much fun watching this video. Keep up the good work!

Shinya

Feeling ancient but: I grew up with One Piece (when it started in 1997), so I really didn’t expect it to continue that long or affect me as much as it did. As you said, Oda is a master of making you both laugh and cry with the story, so that makes it very unique. I was out of touch with following the story but caught up with it recently and I enjoy following your OP journey now😊 Enjoying the cover stories and Q&A!

I said I would never watch One Piece because it’s too long and the art style was not for me. But after I went through a pretty tough mourning period I needed something to distract myself, started watching the live action, and Luffy filled me with so much joy I couldn’t stop watching his family grow even more each episode, he found so much love I felt embraced by them and it really helped to remind myself not to lose hope when times were hard. Now I can look back and I feel like Luffy saved me, like he did with the rest of his crew, and every island he arrives to free from evil ✨

Jeff

one piece just dropped a top 5 episode of all time today and ripped us all to shreds.. keep that top spot open for your flashbacks list

I'm your Hotspot

Ange picking Chopper and Robin as crewmates is absolutely based 🙌

Khoi Pham

Really enjoy this video. It's just my taste but I love seeing you guys discuss deeper into the story/character/predictions.

Thank you so much for your video! I truly love your One Piece reactions— they’re always so wholesome and fun to watch. One Piece holds a very special place in my heart. Maybe it's similar to how Ange feels about Dragon Ball Z — it’s deeply tied to my childhood. I’ve been watching it for over 20 years now, which is about 4/5 of my life. So many of my values and even my view of life have been shaped by this series. For example, Luffy’s attitude of “just keep going and the bridge will appear” (船到橋頭自然直 in Mandarin), and how much he values his friends and crewmates. Or when Vivi failed in battle and Karoo was seriously injured, and she said: “What I’ve learned on this ship is to never give up.” That line had such a big impact on me. But if I had to name one moment that left the deepest impression on me, it would be Usopp at Enies Lobby. When Luffy was close to defeat, Usopp took off his Sogeking mask and shouted to him: “You can still see the ocean and the sky from here. This isn’t hell, so don’t act like you’re about to die!” That line gave me immense strength during the most hopeless time of my life. I was in university, far from home, facing isolation and betrayal from people I thought were friends. But that scene reminded me: ”This isn’t hell. I don’t have to give up yet.” And that gave me the courage to carry on. Anyway, as always, I love watching your reactions, and I really hope you keep enjoying the show! 😆💕

Aizensalami

Love this kind of videos! My favorite Luffy is 2nd Gear Luffy. Saddest back story is Robin's and Brook's, but Robin's touched me more :(

Bright Son

If possible please react to dub version on bink booze . I think it's worth reacting to english dub version of Bink's Booze and also blind guessing of characters dub voices.

its Juju & Mor

I think this is the first wrap up video that I get to watch immediately 🥹

One Piece is truly special to me. It’s been with me since I was a kid, and I’ve always appreciated it for its incredible world-building, character development, and emotional storytelling. I’ve really enjoyed hearing you respond to questions and share your perspectives. There’s a genuine effort to understand the characters, their motivations, and the reasons behind their actions. One thing I’ve never really liked about a certain part of the fandom is the obsession with powerscaling or ranking something as deeply personal as “who has the saddest backstory”, especially when those rankings are used to tear down some characters in favor of others. But that’s not what One Piece is about.

kunal kashyap

Keep doing this it's interesting

?Kangaroo

This was awesome keep doing these pls

shion333

hii im new around here, anybody knows if they reacted to the One Piece openings (the saga's they already watched)? or is it on the long version of the reaction?

LeeJay

I think people tend to underestimate Moria because of his goofier design and his arc not being as serious as other arcs. But to this point he's one of the few villains to push the whole crew to their limits. Luffy only beat Moira at the very last second as the sun was coming up. And he immediately passed out afterwards and began disintegrating. If Moria had held out for maybe a minute more he would have killed Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, and Robin as they were already beginning to burn up. He also had a smaller main crew compared to previous groups like CP9 and Baroque Works. You can still tell he's fallen a lot since his glory days, but the fact he was able to face Kaido at all is more of a testament of his own (former) strength than anything. He almost won in this arc, and if he were in his prime I think it would have been a wash. Great discussion! I loved your reactions to the cover stories and I'm excited to see what you think of the others!

DevilWearsAdidas

It might be kind of spoilery to say this, but I dont think it's like bad spoilery, but the reason I love this show is because it really covers every kind of negative thing and shows an unfaltering group of friends succeeding through the odds. I just can't think of something the show doesn't really cover in a real life situation. It feels very real and down to earth where a lot of shows have one single point of focus like dragon ball z is protect the earth and people, naruto is about a journey to become hokage with some random issues, but mostly focused on ninja stuff. One piece is more in line with slice of life and dealing with issues that actually exist. I guess you can kind of do that though when your story is so damn long. Another big part of One Piece is the voice acting. It's so goddamn good. They stumbled on gold for their characters because everyone is super unique and has their own really addicting personalities that fit right in to the show in a big way (zoro tarzan xD). It's just amazing what a great voice actor is capable of doing. I'll start fights here, the english dub makes me so damn mad because the voice acting is so tragically bad. Even Chris Sabat says all he does for zoro is just talk. Its just his normal voice with zero acting. One piece is just a very special story that you don't watch to catch up, you watch to enjoy and HOPE there's more to it when you do catch up. You'll see when you get to the end that it's not about watching to watch it, it's about watching to experience it. It truly is exactly what the show is about, a pirate adventure that you hope never ends.

I'm still sad the anime decided to not anime the cover stories anymore, could literally be canon filler, they could expand on it, could easily get 5-10 episodes on each, and not create random filler

Marvin Varnhorn

The saddest for ne is Always brook just because of the time.. 50 years totally alone with no positive hope

Rabidsu 69

I got to say, Carlie with glasses has me like Nami has Sanji

YanuE X

for me, this is the only reaction channel getting this deep in the community and i love it as an OP fan... from those bounties, the end of the arc quiz, and this... i dont know other channel this deep in the OP community so I can tell you will love the next arcs..

TriplT

I am too late, and maybe you already know and probably you'll never see this message BUT, Calie's point with all the flashbacks being played over and over again is ENTIRELY a Toei issue. Toei is not creative enough to add their own anime filler or they simply don't want to spend more budget and therefore reuse already animated scenes. Fact is, they animate a single chapter, find out they need to stretch out the episode by x amount of minutes and simply add flashback scenes to extend the episodes. Watching the anime is actually so frustrating when you've read the 'clean' manga original and know that the stuff people are complaining about, never even happened in the manga. All I can say is to just watch One Pace. Exactly these flashback scenes, all these baked in filler scenes, scenes that are frustrating to watch because they undermine these heavy moments, waste your time, and make you feel like you've got hard dementia are NOT present in One Pace. On top of getting a more canon experience, it's the intended experience, the simply better experience, and on top of that you also save yourself time. There's literally NO reason to NOT watch on One Pace instead of the "original" anime. actually One Pace is THE ORIGINAL One Piece version. It's the by animators and directors intended version that wasn't in post production extended to fit the 24 minute mark.
