Yup there is a 4 year time skip from season 3 !!!(this isnt a spoiler just little info) So most of our characters are now 19 years old, Reiner is around 21 and Zeke is 29. Dont worry if you get confused with some things everyone was im not gonna lie it took me a while to understand what i was watching lol. I hope you enjoy this amazing season !!!!

To put the time skip into perspective, the series began in 845, much of it happens during 850, and now we’re in the year 854.

Asylum

Season 1 started in the year 845 (the first appearance of the Colossal in Shinganshina), Trost and the remaining Season 1-3, was 850-1. The Scouts made it to the Sea in 851 (one year following their victory in Trost). This is 4 years (as was said in the episode), after their failure (after the big showdown in s3 p2), so looking roughly at the year 854-5 (making it 9-10 years roughly after the first appearance of the Colossal and Armoured titans from S1 E1-2). Just in case you wanted a timeline of things to keep track.

Don't get me wrong. Earlier seasons' animation is good, and got better and better, but season 4 it reaches its apex for the show. Mappa got it right.

The intro is siiiick 😍 I have never questioned your authenticity as you've always been very honest with us. I've noticed since the first season that Carlie has some very good theories despite not being exactly accurate 100% but she understood the bigger picture of the story. You guys seem genuine and that's why I'm addicted to your channel. You're not only reacting for the sake of reacting but you're also having fun with it while discussing and diving deeper into the story, and that's one of the things I appreciate about you. Tbh I've seen reactors who already watched the show/and other shows and pretended it was their first time but it's so obvious when someone fakes a reaction. Keep it up guys!

Just wanted to say: Respect for not cheering on the Marleyans visibly. I see a lot of reactors who find themselves rooting for them because they're the focus on the episode, but forget /why/ and /what/ is actually happening.

Basically because in the 3rd and 1st season, they lost the colossal titan (arguably the strongest one. it's basically a walking A-bomb) and female titan, Marley's military power reduced drastically so the 'mid-east allied forces' started a war to take advantage of that fact. So ya, the war probably started shortly after season 3. The different characters and time jump does throw most people off lmao

If that's the intent, all it did was piss me off. When I watched this episode, I was cheering for the people in the fort for fighting Marley. Had to stop the show for a few minutes once I realized what they were 'dropping' from the plane because I was raging, and hoped someone would die to the train or the fleet. I only occurred to me some people might be conflicted about it after I watched some of the more 'in the moment' reactors watch this part of the season. Far too many get sympathetic when they're the ones who attacked first.

yeah just to clarify: Marley is weakened because they lost the female and colossal titans to Paradis. Because they're weakened, the neighboring allied countries have taken the chance to fight back, which is what this 4 year war was :)

To be fair it is an extreme prediction and I for one have never seen another reactor guess it just by looking at the photo. Some have guessed it when we first see her in ep 20. I believe carlie wasn’t spoiled though, I was just shocked to hear her guess that so accurately and easily

idk if you mentioned it and I just missed it, but season 4 was done by a different studio, so some of the characters/ style looks a bit different. it threw me off at 1st but I think you'll be okay lol

TDK Joker: "And here we go" into the actual AOT season 1. Btw get well soon you two, hope you two kick the bug soon and you don't have to apologize for getting some things right because you were smart enough to realize it. There was the Viktor scene in Arcane Ep 8 where I immediately realized the boat parallel with his backstory. This also clicked while watching Arcane for the very first time. During the second Vi vs Sevika fight, there is a supposed Deus Ex Machina scene where unbeknownst to Vi a shield suddenly pops up from her Atlas Gauntlets and she is able to take down Sevika because of that. Upon introspection, you realize that those gauntlets fired up the shield because of the trajectory of Sevika's attack. Jumping way up in the air and coming down at Vi. The Atlas Gauntlets were designed for the mining colonies and the shield is put in place to protect miners from sudden falling rubble from above to prevent any damage to the gauntlet user. So not all theories are based on spoilers, sometimes it just clicks out of the blue.

Hey guys I’m so happy you started this season early 😍 , I just wanted to advice you to be very carful of the things said in every episode from every one because this season needs A LOT of concentration tbh 🫢 , and also I don’t think that you saw it but in the first few minutes of the episode Falco was talking to Gabi and the rest and said something very odd! He said something like I saw myself flying and killing titans!! Like if he was in Paradise with our scout
