Novneal kumar

Ciaphas Cain

Finally :D Shredded is back.

Paris Hardy

How did the threat go over their heads? How?

Allison Cornell

So yeah, Eren just killed a bunch of children so that happened lol and that was willy tybur btw if you pause and see

Georgie Acero

That was Willy! (The guy in the air)

Josh Knoebel

Ah, Eren's new titan form! The War Crime titan!

Paris Hardy
>>86693455

Right! The whole time the reaction was like 😀 🥴 What?!! How did they not notice?

AyBe

When Eren showed his cut hand, he was threatening to transform at any moment and kill the residents above them which he ultimately did. Eren gives no fucks lmao

gabriel popp

Whats the difference between what Erin is doing and what Reiner did? Reiner was ignorant to what he was doing at first, Erin knows and it isn't going to stop him.

DJ

Right on time with this one

Carlie & Ange
>>86694025

Everything/Everyone that Eren cares about is being threatened and has been for years up until this point. Eren can either lay down and surrender and lose everything, or he can fight back. Its an unfortunate circumstance for everyone involved to be honest.

Shinei

Ange is on to something, but it's even more in depth then you think. I can't say too much to avoid any spoilers but you guys should go back and listen to the majority of Reiner and Eren's conversation again. They're the same. Think hard about what he says you're going to need that knowledge for the future. Also, you guys are correct Eren choose not to heal his leg from whatever happened, just like Reiner when he was attacked in season 2

Mr Joker

Marley was taught that Helos and the Tyburs were the ones who defeated the king. But in reality it was the king who made a deal with the Tyburs to stop the war and create a fake hero. That while the king took some of his people to the island. He said that despite having lots of titans in the wall if Marley decided to attack he wouldn't do anything about it because he believed they deserved it. That's why when the Reiss family tried to stop the titans they were unable to because the will of the first king takes over. Willy then explained that the situation is now different because the Founding titan is no longer in possession of the royal family. Since Eren now has the founding then it is now a threat because if he finds a way to use the power then he could unleash all those titans in the wall. Also, notice how Eren was waiting for Willy to declare war, as soon as he said "... a declaration of war!" Eren transforms

Henriette

Shredded!! Great reaction, cant wait to watch the next episode!

Allen Valdes

Can’t believe y’all actually managed to post this today. Y’all are too clutch. Thank you🙏

NissanZaxima

The Final Season really isn’t about choosing sides anymore, as you can sympathize with most characters. It’s all about perspective.

Sean Carroll

i dont think eren thinks hes validated to kill these people because of marleys actions against the island. He explains that to reiner in the conversation that he understands him and doesnt harbour any ill will towards him, but he also knows that the world wants to kill everyone on the island so his only choice is to fight back even if its horrible to kill people. Also in a way reiner is the hero trying to save the world from the rumbling whilst eren might be willing to use the rumbling to wipe out billions of lives. The writer isnt trying to force you into thinking differently or abandoning eren but hes trying to show you that the main "heroes" are not perfect and have their own vendettas too. Reiner said in the season 2 finale "of all the people in the world i wouldnt want to have that power, it is you Eren" Makes a lot of sense now

Nilexinator

eren scratched himself so he can transform at will. at this point he can controll how fast he heals. so he keeps a wound to trigger the transformation when he pleases and he can hold reiner hostage it wasnt erens step mom. it was his real mom and dead. zeke is just his step brother

Sean Carroll

also eren doesnt care about killing the titans anymore, you may have missed the parts where he understands that titans are just people trapped in a never ending nightmare, if anything wouldnt he want to remove the curse of titans forever to free eldians from that, the show has drastically changed since hot headed eren in season 1

Jumod Jones

Ange putting his head in his hand when the realization of what “tens of millions” of colossal titans would be like is my same reaction. Bert was a “God of Destruction” by himself, imagining is MILLIONS of Bert’s is almost incomprehensible. Great reaction guys!!

Josh Knoebel

I like to call back to season 1 when Erwin asks "Who is the real enemy?" We go from "titans, duh" to "oh crap, there are humans in the walls that are titan sympathizers!" to "Oh, obviously it's the government and the Reis family!" to "Marley is racist and oppressive to the poor downtrodden Eldians!" When really all along the only enemy has been ignorance.

Based Hakari

Rational choice theory would suggest that Eren's actions are far beyond redeemable/far worse than the warriors'...given that the warriors were 10 yr old kids brainwashed and controlled by a militaristic bureaucracy. Not to justify Marley's ruling class whatsoever, they are a brutal regime. Eren's walked in there as a fully autonomous adult and just murdered hundreds of innocents. That being said, his people have been subject to genocide and suffering for generations.

Jaypee87
>>86694025

It's a difficult situation to be sure, but imo you can't justify terrible deeds you've done by the terrible deeds someone else has done to you. At some point, if no one thinks of a way to respond differently, the cycle of war and hate will just continue.

Carolina

I love listening to your conversations and questions! 💖 Pieck is lovely and Connie grew up a lot! 😎

Carolina

Oh, and I hope you are feeling better!

Sean Carroll

Ange is going to absolutely lose his shit next two episodes

Cory

Willie told them the truth about Helos and King Reiss because the situation changed. Now that the Founding titan is in possession of Eren, Marley and the world are at threat because Eren is a wildcard. They knew that the Reiss family would maintain the vow renouncing war, but Eren... not so much. They had to share that information to convince the world leaders to join them in war against Paradis/Eren.

Ivan Haji
>>86694025

Jaypee87 At his point in the story, Eren can 110% justify it though. Literally every nation on earth has just declared war on them. Eren will do what ever he can to protect his island. Sometimes civilians in war die, collateral damage is a thing. I'm sure if he had the infinity gauntlet, he would choose a more peaceful option.

Ivan Haji

And it was in this episode where Eren became both Levi & Erwin in one.

Ecilla

“I’m not gonna turn on Eren.” Famous last words. 🤣

Gigi

watch the blue ray for next episode i beg

bluerum

this is the episode where eren became heisenberg

Mihai Sarbu

When Calrie said that she wants Eren to go back home and say "Hello Mikasa" we all heard "Hello Mikasa, let's quickly have a baby"

Simon
>>86695941

Dina wasn't Eren's "real" mom. Carla was. Unless Grisha was pregnant when he went to the Island...

Simon

Eren was opening his mouth to eat Willy at the end, because he might have the War Hammer titan.

Beyonder

That wasn't Connie, that was Armin lol jk jk

M.N.

Yes Eren chose when to regenerate just like when reiner delayed his regenerating his hand after getting bit by a pure titan in Season 2

Jaypee87
>>86694025

Disagree. And are you implying there was a point in the story where Eren would not have been justified? The world declared war on Paradis during Tybur's speech where Tybur mentioned Eren as the main threat. He gave a full accounting of the truth behind Fritz and Helos, showed the Marleyans that Paradis had renounced war using the Founding Titan. With this knowledge, it is curious to see how Marley would have reacted if Paradis/Eren chose instead to not attack them and try a more diplomatic approach. Edited to remove what may have been considered a spoiler, though I think it was already heavily implied and deduced by Ange and Carlie.

M.N.

Also Eren would only have made a truce if Willy (in the background) had said "lets work with Paradis." If you follow Tybur's speech all the way to Eren's transformation, Tybur literally said nah we gonna pull up on Paradis

Martina

now that was has been declared, I can finally talk about my understanding of Attack on Titan. I believe the true message of AoT is that there are no winners in a war. both sides have good people, and soldiers on both sides get blinded by hate, going eye for an eye until the whole world goes blind. I also believe that titans (and especially the rumbling) are an allegory for nuclear weapons. unfortunately, this show couldn't be more relateble for the situation in Europe right now...

Cation

Fastest response to declaration of war ever.

Not Amused
>>86699245

@Burning Talons That was to locate the founding titan and gauge the kings reaction

Ivan Haji
>>86694025

1. Don’t post any spoilers, we are only talking about Eren up to this point! 2. The war between Marley & Paradis didn’t start just now, it started in Season 1, Episode 1. And it was Marley that started it. 3. Why is Eren going on the offensive even a problem? By that logic, the Allies going on the offensive against the Nazi’s (people who Isayama literally based Marley off) was also unjustifiable. Perhaps they should have resorted to talks instead too? 4. ” …it is curious to see how Marley would have reacted if Paradis/Eren chose instead to not attack them…” What are you talking about? Marley literally planned to attack the island AGAIN in season 4 anyway, just a couple episodes ago. This entire event was organised for that purpose, so this time the rest of the world could support them. 5. The fact is, war was declared physically by Marley in Ep 1, & verbally by Tyber in this ep, Eren just responded. & Eren is 110% justified in attacking back at the child killers who attacked Paradis, and planned to continue attacking Paradis. Collateral damage doesn’t take away from that.

Ivan Haji
>>86699245

@Not Amused And not to take it? You really believe that? Why would they locate the founding titan then? Just for fun? A power hungry country like Marley has no interest in actually capturing the world's most powerful weapon?

Q

Oh no this is when anime fans start to take this show way toooo seriously lol be prepared for the comments and debates😂🤦‍♂️ great reaction as always

Coco
>>86711404

i dont think people take it too seriously :( the show has very relevant themes

Q
>>86711404

I agree that the show displays some very relevant themes and also sends a certain message but I also think people forget that this is an anime at the end of the day. If someone likes a character who is maybe not the best person in the world it’s ok because this is all fiction in the end.

Jaypee87
>>86694025

I didn't post any spoilers..and instead of responding to every item I'm just going to say a few things to clear up what what I meant. I do have sympathy for Eren and everyone on Paradis, of course. I'm just saying maybe not killing people as the answer to everything could lead to something more desirable than children and innocent Eldian and Marleyan civilians. That's all I'm trying to convey. Do I have all the answers to everything? Nope, not pretending to. But to become what you hate doesn't seem like the right response. Also, casualties are of course in every war, but casualties that occur where it could not be helped, or there was a lack of information available is one thing. Casualties resulting from clear understanding and indiscriminate intention is another thing. They are called war crimes for a reason. Justify it all you want. But fun to my head if someone said I could be free but had to kill just one little girl, I could not do it, and I would not want to.

Sage Hasse

I'm writing this comment before I watch your full discussion but when Eren mentioned the apartments above him it was a threat to Reiner since he pointed above him with his hand cut. Basically saying "sit down or I will transform and kill hundreds of innocent people above us"

Ivan Haji
>>86694025

Eren never actually attacked with the intention of killing civilians though. Nor did he directly attack any of them. They died as a result of the destruction. Tactically speaking, this was the perfect time for Eren to attack. Weaken the entire global alliance at once by killing their leaders and generals. It's just unfortunate civilians had to be there too. There are some cases, where no amount of talking will do the job, as is the case with Marley, & Nazi Germany. What was he suppose to do? Just surrender and let his island get bombed into oblivion? Lets not pretend that Marley would have just shook hands with them when hey can't even shake hands with their own Eldian's. But your original point was "you can't justify terrible deeds you've done by the terrible deeds someone else has done to you". I'm simply saying, if fighting back in a war that you were forced in, standing up to tyrannical oppression, defending yourself, your loved ones, and your home isn't enough to justify what Eren did, then nothing is.

Roy

at this point, eren can control when he transforms even if he already has a cut or is injured. It's basically like a loaded gun to the other person's head when he shows them he is bleeding (like he showed reiner) in future scenes. Also, eren can't use the full capability of the founding titan because he doesn't have any royal blood

Kaedjik
>>86711404

You're misrepresenting what people argue about. People start arguing when people defend character's actions, like legitimately arguing that Anakin was in the right for murdering younglings (lol)

Gabriel Lewis

A lot of lovely People in this building above me Reiner, be a shame if something were to happen to them

Night Sterling

Is Reiner the good guy? Is Eren the bad guy? Or are they both just people on opposing sides with different circumstances. "What do you think the enemy is" - Some handsome blond man.

Ibinhio

My advice is try not take sides and keep and open mind of all perspectives w/ their own struggles and motivations

Sean Carroll
>>86694025

eren did intend to kill civilians though, he knew that the people in the houses and watching the play would be the first to die by his transfromation

Rick Turpentine

Keep in mind a giant, more advanced civilization just declared war on them and on Eren personally. The viewer is told a lot about this festival and whos there. Also the people at a massive military disadvantage have their most important asset in the heart of the enemies territory. I like to wonder what Erwin would think about this situation.

Rick Turpentine
>>86699245

The difference is that before Marley was sending in a small team of infiltrators with very capable combat potential against an opponent that doesnt even know you exist or how strong you are. Marley was content to use these special operations because the risk was extremely low, particularly with the founder in Reiss hands. They never imagined the much less advanced enemy could defeat their squad or find out the truth. They didnt even know about the ODM gear at the time. THEN, Willy learned that his side lost 2 of their combat titans, that the enemy knows about Marley (missing scout ships to island), and the founder and attack are in the hands of someone with huge motivation to destroy you. He is pretty much forced to do a full scale invasion to take the founder and gank their resources while he is at it. The fact that he seems to think he needs full support from the world seems kind of odd unless he is just REALLY scared of Eren.

Ivan Haji
>>86694025

Bro, when NATO bombed Afghanistan, I doubt their intention was to kill civilians. But the reality is when you drop bombs on enemy combatants, children will inevitably and unfortunately die. Eren deliberately waited in that area, because it guaranteed Reiner wouldn't try and fight him. That is also why he made Falco stay. The only other alternative of his transformations timing war for him to then leave the room into the stadium. Who is to say Reiner would not have grabbed/killed him from behind, or that Falco would have ran out after him and told everyone? Intentional killing of civilians is what the Nazi's did during the holocaust. What ISIS did in the year 2014. Not this.

Jaypee87
>>86694025

Lot of supposition here. Don't think we're going to persuade one another regarding this. Let's just agree that Eren still remains a very compelling character and the story is very expertly written.

Jaypee87
>>86702068

I want to add a stipulation here, but I don't know how to say it without vague spoiler-ish comments, so yea. I'll see you then 😉

bruhmingo
>>86706881

That’s unlikely given what we know about Eren as a person and !SPOILER!, what he saw of his own future

bruhmingo
>>86699245

@Ivan, “the best way to tell a lie is to mix it with a lot of truth”, - commander Pixis. Their goal was to take the founder, but it they had to change the story slightly to sell it to the rest of the world.

Ivan Haji
>>86732669

Erwin would eat Eren just so he could personally start the rumbling 😂.

Ivan Haji
>>86702068

@Jaypee87 Bro, I’m going to come back to this comment, just to laugh at you when Angie proves me right 😂 💗

Ibinhio
>>86732669

It’s really hard to tell what he would have done obviously. At times I wonder if he would have had the motivation to continue fighting or if the discovery of the truth would have rattled him to continue to win at all costs. A bunch of possibilities
