DOUBLE UPLOAD LETS GOOO! Also I see you guys with the sponsor, defo deserved !!!

alternia though

"And then I understood...The only one who can lay waste to the Titans is a devil! And if I can bring back the devil, that must be my mission in life" -Floch, S03E18 👀

Bryonna Yates

Thanks for the reactions you two! Amazing as always ❤️

secretsecret

As the thumbnail clearly shows, Floch is definitely a good guy and not an allegorical example of fascist ideologies recruiting the weak by promising them a false strength.

Koustav Das

Erwin with Colossal Titan would've been overkill. He has to nerfred or go out.

alternia though

This ep is so stressful, but Mr. Braus always makes me tear up in that scene. Such a goated character tbh

Jonathon Elkins

The Jeagerists are operating with the assumption the only way to survive is to fight back. While the greater Military and upper ranks want to take their time and find the most peaceful resolution possible, despite the world having already declared war on Paradise in Liberio, and Floch and the rest of the Jaegerists believe the only person that can do the things that need to be done is a devil like Eren (similar to Erwin). I'd definitely consider myself a Jaegerist as I believe they're following Erwin's ideology. You have to become a devil to defeat monsters. Who knows how he would have lead if he were still alive, but I can't imagine he'd want peace with the people who have been slaughtering his Scouts for decades, let alone the hundreds of thousands of other people that were killed.

Mattoys

Hey Ange, have you started working on the cover of the opening for part 2 yet? If yes do you like the direction they went with that song?

pan dan

Guys just keep in mind "the forest"

Ivan Haji

Anje, you’re a Jeagerest like us. I can feel it.

C~LoS

Thank you for the double reactions!

Jannis Bohling

Yeah definitely a Jaegerist. When the whole world wants to exterminate your entire race, you cant just sit there and take it. You have to fight. fight, To quote Mister E himself: "Because my soldiers do not buckle or yield when faced with the cruelty of this world! My soldiers push forward! My soldiers scream out! My soldiers RAAAAAGE!"

I’ll be having a non spoiler listen in the next few days thanks to some help from our discord!

PERSONAL OPINION HERE! I love Eren and I'll always support him (not with killing civilians ofc) but I'm not a Jaegerist like Floch and his comrades. I do understand Floch's way of thinking; yes they need to fight for their people and protect them, but my issue with him is that he only sees Eren as a devil like Erwin, he dehumanizes them and only sees them as means to a greater goal. And he also seems to enjoy all of that as you mentioned. As for Eren, I don't like how he killed all the innocent people and I cried a lot because of that, but I'll never turn my back on him or see him as a devil. I've noticed that you guys have a good understanding of the characters and the story in general. The 3 seasons were as important as this season and each of the characters was clearly described/explained in those early seasons so I'm glad that you didn't forget about that and that you're not judging just from the recent events. So to the people who call Ange a Jaegerist, just because he loves Eren/the SHREDDED, it doesn't mean he's 100% on his side with everything; you can love people while calling them out on their crap!

GB3

I consider myself a hangeist all the way

Val

Ackerman-ist. Whatever Mikasa and Levi do I'm with them 😂

Goob

About the commentary about Floch’s nerve, you need to remember what happened to him. He is a sole survivor of a suicide charge in which he thought he was a worthless coward that was destined to die. Now he’s the ONLY survivor of that charge (Erwin died after he single handedly carried him to Levi). Keep in mind he was a RECRUIT. Meaning that everyone he was supposed to die with were his close friends, his “Sasha, Connie, Armin, Mikasa, and Jean”. And during his speech on the roof we learn that by SOME MEANS he had to justify his survival by helping the “devil who can slaughter the titans”. With Erwin gone, Eren is the only one who fits the description. That really changes a homie ngl. People like Floch because of his development, not because he’s a good person.

Completely agree! I'm not at all a fan of the Jeagerists or some of Erens actions but I still love Eren and he is one of my favourite characters. (I could never dislike him because of how much I understand him)

Jaypee87
>>87492179

Disagree about Erwin. I don't think he would have done things the way the Jaergerists are now.

Jaypee87
>>87497735

I actually agree with all of this. People saying King Floch, or believing Eren hasn't done questionable things, is what always rubs me the wrong way. Such a tribal, hero worshipping way of looking at things.

Jaypee87

Excellent reactions guys! Love the double upload!!

Ivan Haji

Dude was prepared to sacrifice humanity in the walls just to prove his father was right, & take down titans like Historia’s father, you really think he wouldn’t side with Eren too?

Jordan Olivier

Great outlook on Erwin and what his impact would have been, if he was brought back to life. There was a lot more unity under Erwin and he can literally convince you to die for him. Im still happy we saved Armin, that death was too much. But, I can honestly admit Erwin would have handled this much better and he would have Hange at his side to help plan as well, they were a good team. So unfortunate

Yuup. Personally I fuckin hate Floch on a personal level, but I love him as a character because of that. I understand his motivations and understand why he is the way he is. Isayama really made a great character with him with how easy it is to simultaneously love his character arc and hate him as a person lol.

Gabriel Barott

Absolutely love this episode! Sasha's father's dialogue is the most beautiful example of how to resolve the conflict at hand. It can't be about who did what to who, it's about what you choose to do to end the cycle of violence and revenge, instead of perpetuate it. Instead of seeing Gabi as the person who killed his daughter, blaming her for the loss of Sasha, he sees her as a child who's been indoctrinated to believe these things that Marley does. A child that had no freedom to just be a kid and grow up thinking for herself. Instead of hating her for what she had done, and despite being given the opportunity to kill her, he cares for her as though she's his own. P.S. Thanks for the double uploads! Your reactions are amazing as always :)

Rick Turpentine

Erwin told Levi never to regret his actions and Levi told it to Eren years later. Now Erwin is dead and Levi is wondering why he put all his chips on Eren. The show is not afraid to pick the main characters to pieces and challenge their core beliefs.

So true! Great comment! 😍People like Sasha's dad who can think out of the box, see the larger picture and act accordingly are the true "heros" who can make a change! ☮️

Cloudburst
>>87492179

See this is another area where the Jeagerist's insane mental gymnastics comes into light. Erwin's first goal in life was in fact to prove his father was right at all costs, but secondly to still preserve humanity. You can't assume Erwin would side with Eren because as you've conveniently forgotten Erwin chose humanity over his own personal goals. He also never got the all the facts, he didn't learn of the truth of the world. The rumbling goes against everything he believed in.

TrixieTurner

Eren and his right hand man Floch, good times to be a yeagerist.

Gabriel Barott
>>87523576

Exactly! Sasha's dad is honestly one of my favorite characters in AoT, despite him having very little screen time. This episode alone he manages to make one of the most profound speeches of the series imo! ^_^

Gabriel Barott
>>87497735

Yeah, I write a lot of comments on these Patreon posts explaining my disagreement with Eren's actions. However, this doesn't mean I hate him or see him as an inherently bad person! Tbh, I think he has probably the best character writing that I've seen in an anime. Eren is such a nuanced and compelling protagonist compared to a lot of others I've seen in anime. I really love Eren, he just feels like a close friend that I don't want to see going down an irredeemable path.

next episode cant wait

Yea, I personally feel it is Isayama talking to the audience about the core message and theme of the show

i hate floch even though hes a realistic portrayal of someone in the circumstances of aot - i simply just cannot deal with him

Ivan Haji
>>87492179

Good point. Erwin chose humanity in the end. But he still was prepared to sacrifice everyone to kill Historia’s father. Would he choose Eldians or the world?

The timespan isn’t communicated too well, but about a month has passed since the attack on Marley.
