Yesssss. The rapping episode!

PackerMan

I have achieved inner peace.

This special ED was animated by 18 year old animator “vercreek.” He solo did storyboard, direction, and key animation for the ending song. So much talent, can't wait to see what they do for anime with such a bright future. Such an incredible episode, they put so much love into this anime.

Favorite Episode! By the Way, when Miyuki said "Blue Ass", he was actually trying to say something else but his English didn't help him XD. The theme of his rap was trying to tell her to stay true to herself and her feelings. Now, remember when Hayasaka removed her lenses and exposed her "Blue Eyes" to show him her true self? What he was trying to say was: "If you don't expose your BLUE EYES (your true self) you will not find TRUE LOVE". But instead, he said: "If you don't expose your "BLUE ASS" you will not find "TRUE LOVE"". This becomes funnier if you remember that the words "TRUE LOVE" in this show can be understood as some Nirvana activities (remember how Kashiwagi interpreted these words when Kaguya was taking her advice XD). It's so funny how they link the jokes!

I know this has been said a lot but i love yall reactions and discussions with your anecdotes and being cheeky with each other lol

Grey Cat

It was really fun seeing you guys so excited for this episode from start to finish, cheers !

The producers of this episode thought: "Can we get away with one f-bomb this episode? We can? THEN LETS DO SEVERAL!"

Russell Gambardella

Hahahaha was waiting for this episode, enjoyed your reactions <3

This episode just shows how good the studio is. The rap segment was in the manga, and it was funny, but the anime just takes it up to 11 with the voice acting and visuals. A1 Pictures has really elevated what is an already good manga into an amazing anime.

HemiRT

Regarding the idea of more Kaguya after this season... this season ends a little before the halfway point of the manga so there's plenty of content left if the studio wants to continue.

Chelle

definitely one of my favorite anime episodes out there, the heart they put into it is so obvious that it’s impossible not to love it haha

Aizensalami

Yeah, it's the best XD. P.S: If you want more Kaguya-Sama content after you finish S3 and the movie, there are some really good subbed videos on YouTube of the voice actors doing some epic/funny things, like live recording or playing games with each other... I can share some of them if you're interested or if you feel empty after you finish the show :)

I don't know if this is true but isn't "Blue Ass" Japanese slang for "immature/inexperienced in life"? 「ケツの青い若造」or blue-assed youngster. In the US, we say greenhorn to refer to a newbie. In Japan they say blue-ass to mean the same thing. I saw someone say this in a comment before, and after digging a little, I think it's true.

Can anyone confirm, isn't "Blue Ass" Japanese slang for "immature/inexperienced in life"? 「ケツの青い若造」or blue-assed youngster. In the US, we say greenhorn to refer to a newbie. In Japan they say blue-ass to mean the same thing. I saw someone say this in a comment before, and after digging a little, it seems to be true. P.S. FAVORITE EPISODE!!!

FTN Chicken

This is the best anime of all time, and that's my non-fiction

Rif

Absolutely GOATED episode. MC Miyuki is just next level haha

Chase Repp

I have been waiting for this episode from the beginning lol I don't know how many times I listened to the rap.

MADHOUSE

lmao I have a love-hate relationship with this episode. I think understanding Japanese makes me cringe at their rap (not in a bad way) and imagining the VA's doing this in the booth together is so funny to me. The random English words are also hilarious 😂 The ED rap is a banger though. As Brian mentioned, Vercreek did amazing with the animation, regardless of whether he did it solo or not.

Yes, apparently there is an expression ( 尻が青い (shiri ga aoi)) which means immature (ref.: kotowaza.jitenon.jp). But BLUE ASS in this Rap is not meant in that context. When Miyuki and Hayasaka were in the group date Karaoke room (Episode 2), he told her that she's more likeable when she shows her true self, but she denied that and said: "no one gets loved if they don't act, there is no way we can be loved as we are". After that, when they were in a separate Karaoke room (Episode 5), she removed her lenses to show him her true self. The main theme of his Rap was him trying to tell her to stay true to herself, which correlates with her exposing her eyes. If you see the lyrics of this part of his Rap, he said: "If you keep hiding (it/them) we'll not know, (your) BLUE ASS. If you don't expose (it/them) you'll not get TRUE LOVE". Even before this part, he said in his rap: "you said that we can't be loved as we are, I'll now answer that question. you keep acting because you won't be loved as you are? is that reality? F*** it !" To me, it's so clear that he wanted to say "EYES" but he used the wrong word XD. It's actually common in anime that they make fun by using broken English. P.S: Sorry for the passionate response, I just love this episode XD.

FMAB got lost in transit.

JAMES D'ALESSANDRO

This as you said Ange, is the best anime episode ever made, and this season is the best season of an anime ever as well.
