Wooo! Weekend is set to be great! Are there plans on the future reactions for those that didn’t win the polls? Like Your like in April/86?

Fred

Hey guys, not sure if it’s just my browser bugging out but I think these two links are both Episode 2?

Halibel

hi guys will u post oshi no ko today?

Takumi King

Surely you mean an OVA after ep3. The official movie acts as a sequel to the anime Edit: Watching order is actually like this: Ep1-4, OVA, Ep5-13, Movie (violet evergarden - the movie)

Roboton

Evergarden is a great series! I hope you'll enjoy Violet exploring the meaning of love.

Kevin T

Hope you guys realize it's the OVA that's next after episode 4! Movies come after the main series :)

Jason

"Major" is the new "Eren"

There are two movies, it should be Ep1-4, OVA, Ep5-13, Violet Evergarden: Eternity and the Auto Memory Doll (2019), then finally Violet Evergarden: the Movie (2020).

KaijinGarou

Am I crazy or this Cattleya didn't jump on the president until she saw "blondie" to tease him? I wonder why every woman in this enterprise seems to hold a grudge against him 🤣. Guess we'll find out. PS: OK, after watching ep 3, she was definitely teasing him 🤣

KaijinGarou

Yeah we got a flashback in the first episode where the major said "I love you. Run and live" or something like that.

KaijinGarou

I too loved this Luculia and hope she sticks around although I'm getting the vibe that it will be a different character every episode and how they affected Violet's life. But maybe she'll show up again later.

I'm sure they will put them back in future polls. They usually put a bunch of anime that were in previous polls back into later polls.

KaijinGarou

It must be anime age ambiguity but that Cattleya-blondie thing that's going on sure looks illegal to me as well. You're not alone 🤣

Aizensalami

It's really nice how they made Violet speak in this show. She always speaks in a very formal tense with everyone, and she doesn't show emotions in her words, which is very suited to her soft and quiet voice.

Renjitsu

Apparently the movie is supposed to come after episode 4 after doing alittle research, im watching along with you guys so im in the dark as well

TerraZetzz

Been waiting for this since your AoT reactions.

Santiago

Please consider watching the OVA after ep. 4. There is a considerable amount of growth that would feel like it came out of nowhere in ep. 5 if you didn't watch the OVA beforehand.

Filipe Ferrari

If you pay close attention, the episodes are never told from Violet's perspective. Every episode is told from the perspective of another character. Ep. 1 is Hodgins, Ep. 2 is Erica and Ep. 3 is Luculia

Cheyenne R Spina

As others have stated, there is a special episode OVA after Ep 4 and then there are 2 movies. First movie to watch is Violet Evergarden: Eternity and the Auto Memory Doll and then Violet Evergarden: The Movie.

I hope so, no Interest in Violet Evergarden at all, but I forever remain hopeful for 86....

Martina

I think you looked away when it was implied that Claudia "didn't get paid that month" because he bought back Violet's brooch. which is sweet. I ship them lol. but it seems she only has eyes (and heart) for old Gil.

bluerum

oh thank goodness they are watching this version. i believe the blu-ray edition has inaccurate subtitles to episode 3's letter (made the translation more complicated even though the Japanese script had very simple words which is why it hit so hard) and they changed the OST to one of the best episodes (I think 10)

Lol, sometimes I feel like you get a sub writer that just wants to impose their own version of the script rather than faithfully translate what's being said

bluerum
>>111580045

Well it was the official released blu-ray edition not a fanmade one but yeah not sure what they were trying to do. The one Carlie&Ange are watching is the official Netflix subtitle version. I checked back on one of the other reactors I watched and it said "I'm glad you're here for me. Thank you for everything." instead of what we have "I'm happy that you're alive. Thank you." He clearly doesn't say the "for everything" part at the end (arigatou). And Thank you for everything doesn't hit as hard as a simple sincere Thank you because it's not about a generalized everything. He's honestly been a pretty shitty brother recently but at least thank you for simply being alive. Which points also to the first sentence that is more about that he's just simply alive which is even what the sister initially said word for word "But all that doesn't matter, I'm really just glad he's alive". It's not about being thankful that the brother is there for sister which is very general but just the simple fact that he was able to return alive from war even if their relationship is broken. I usually don't get worked up on subtitles ever. But in this case, especially because the emphasis on an Auto Memory Doll's job to say the right words, the subtitles just gut it and kinda ruin the moment even though Violet was accurately able to relay the simple words that the sister wanted to say. I was so sad that my favorite reactor couldn't get the full viewing experience because of the subs so I'm glad C&A are watching this version. Also episode 10 doesn't hit the same on the Blu-ray edition due to the OST changes so also happy about that.

Yeah I get what you’re saying, it can be annoying. But in my experience even some official translations can have this issue, for example I picked up volume 1 of the Oshi no Ko English manga and there were some questionable choices in there when it came to translations. And the official prints of Re:Zero light novels are all around trash that seems like they ran thru google translate and pressed send

PackerMan

I hope you remember the following events in Ep 2. - the president said he had no money to treat Cattleya. - the president got the brooch from the black market somehow. - when Cattleya buys the president a drink, she surmises that he doesn't have money because he bought the brooch with his pay for the month. --- For Ep 3. You can tell she's coming to grips with life outside of the battlefield. She corrected from "mission" to "assignment" to just "a letter".

PackerMan

Man, I can't believe I'm tearing up even as part of a reaction.

I gotta ask... I watched about 4 episodes of 86 and it didn't strike out to me. Just felt like a standard affair, far removed from general reality, Light Novel type story (might actually be LN IDK). Is the best episodes after? I cant fathom how 86 could be in the same basket as Violet Evergarden.

KaijinGarou
>>111502689

Oh so you're a Violet expert, aren't you? Then, could you please tell me if I missed any OVA or movie between ep 5 and 6? Unless it was just foreshadowing, ep 5's ending felt completely disconnected from ep 6.

Jake Thompson

The little details of this show always impress me. Luculia holding on to her hat when she brought Violet up, her losing her hat as a kid when Spencer first brought her, and then her holding her hand out to help him up at the end. In the first episode Violet touches the puppy with her face and her lips, and in episode 2 she does the same with the brooch because she can't feel with her hands. Every single piece of this anime is beautiful.

Amrith

Thank you so much C & A, and whoever voted for this in the poll. You brought an S tier series to the forefront that would have been entirely ignored by me if I weren't part of this community.

Karmac

waiting for more hurts

Zana

Fantastic show with Amazing duo. Really enjoy the reaction guys.

František Pastorek
