We're sure you're all aware that the latest patreon poll has really taken its toll on this community. The poll was an absolute nail-biter, with MOB Psycho 100 taking a clear an early lead, only to have Re:Zero mount an absolute stellar comeback. There were days of both these series equal in votes! The poll actually ended a 40% split between both shows. However, we as the creator had access to the actual numbers. Just had to download the spreadsheet.

We will begin reacting to the series this week.


We know our Re:Zero fans have it rough right now. It is gut-wrenching to lose in such a way. All we can say is that we are very keen to get to the series at some stage soon. We do not know when that will be, but it'd be cruel not to cover it at some point this year considering how close it got to winning!

For Re:Zero it might even be better when they start reacting close to 2024 when the new season arrives. They might enjoy it even more and get the most out of it and remember what happened in the seasons before better. It was similar with Vinland. Mob just has the advantage, that it's finished. But with this level of support Re:Zero will smash the next poll. Just my thoughts as a Mob supporter.

well thanks god for the hiakyuu reactions coming soon. Sadly once again the anime community loose to narrow-minded people who only wanna watch their plain overhyped action show. It's no surprise even tho the production of anime actually keep getting bigger, the numbers of good anime keep decreasing thanks to those kind of "anime fans" that are satisfied with so little effort.

Yeah. Mob 100 is more like One Punch Man. Story is nothing too deep. Lay back and enjoy the ride kinda show. But ReZero is more on same level as Vinland in story telling. Lets say, 2-3 Episode a week, 38 episodes, they will finish it in about 3 months.

World building, story, and humor are all better in OPM in my opinion. Mob is more wholesome and the characters are a bit more enjoyable, but at the end of the day it is a shounen series meant for kids. It is a very cleanly written series, with beautiful animation, but I really think some episodes in Mob are completely uninteresting.

As a Mob fan, given the difference in the number of votes, at least give all those who voted for Re:Zero, a tentative date soon in your update. Maybe not right away but think about it and post it..everyone fought hard here. We have no enemies. This would be a fitting send off to Vinland.

I think you are referring to One Punch Man and not Mob Psycho which has a lot more depth. I love Re:Zero but at least one can agree that Mob Psycho would not be shit since the ratings are higher on both MAL and IMDB. Hopefully Re:Zero wins the next poll.

I mean I guess depending on how many episodes per week it'll be quick anyways. 2 per week is approx 16 weeks (3.5 months), and 3 a week makes it 3 months. Regardless, I hope they jump straight into Re Zero without re-polling due to how close it was. :)

I agree on better worldbuilding and maybe humor. I think mob has more heart and a better story overall though. But I don’t think the gap is particularly big and OPM worldbuilding is low key one of the most interesting in anime, especially the stuff that happens in the manga later on.

The ratings lol the ratings are made by everyone that mean even billy who seens one anime in his entire life and has no knowledge about animation, charadesign, editing, frame language et story-telling can say something. Henceforth of course mob gonna get good review is simple and the studio did a good job on the visual and the music but the reviews actually are not a good way to judge a show since any one can do, look fmab is first on my anime list do you think it is the single greatest anime of all the time? no because review can eaisly be manipulated.

It's a personal-preferance thing but I am more interested in reactions to character-, emotion, and story-driven shows like Vinland Saga season 2 compared to action-heavy ones like season 1. Mob is season 1 and Re:Zero season 2 in this case. 1 is something I love to watch casually in private and 2 is something I love watching reactions to and hearing discussions about. I wasn't even trying to complain about Mob winning, just wanted to vent a little. In the end I'm happy for the people who wanted Mob-reactions and I will tune in for the peak-episodes of every season. Especially the final season has some really good ones.

Well, Mob is listed as action/comedy while Re:Zero is listed as fantasy/drama. So Bourbon is correct. The fact that Mob does have moments focused on emotions doesn't change that.

i finally see my mistakes, I guess people around here can't read so well. I mean I said numerous times the same seems but you mob fanboys really can get that trought your head. Code geass is the better show, but it had no chance of winning because it's an old show from a time were anime was less popular and mainstream so all the new anime fan don't care about it and wanna see get hyped on social media and whatever. So I voted for a show which had a chance to win Re:Zero becasue once again it's factual that Re:Zero has bettre writing but if next time code geass has a chance to win i'll vote code geass, or psycho pass or megalo box or any show that is factually better than Re:Zero and have a chance to win the poll. I actually praised code geass more than Re:Zero through the whole poll, and i think i dissed mob more too just becasue well mob fanboys clearly are those new anime fan i was talking about earlier. It has such a kind narrative with some awesome characters, a lovely soundtrack and absolutely stunning animation(also by Studio Bones), I hope you guys have fun watching it too!

It has a great series finales, probably one of the best for the shounen genre, which are usually plagued by messy endings. Season 2 is much better imo though, the 3rd season suffers from filler content and a lack of a cohesive narrative throughout the season.
