I love episode 7 to no end. I've shown a lot of people just that episode. The crossing of the lake makes me cry every time.

There are 2 movies. After you finish the season you are going to watch Eternity and auto memory doll and the second movie is just called violet Evergarden the movie lol

Episodes 7 and 10 hit me way too hard, no matter how many times I watch them.

KaijinGarou

Shit, ep 10 will be in the next pair. Don't forget your tissues.

KaijinGarou

Posters look good. Only thing is I don't know why you have My Hero Academia there. You didn't watch it right? Just curious.

Amrith

The last movie is 2hrs and 20 mins or 140 minutes.

KaijinGarou

The spaghetti didn't taste as bad as they looked or maybe the guy was just being kind 🤣. We don't know.

One is from 2019 and the other one from 2020 so they shouldn't have problems with the order anyway.

KaijinGarou

Well, Violet reminds me of Thorfinn tbh. Their personalities aren't very similar and Vinland focuses more heavily on the themes of redemption and grief and got more time to develop its main character, while with Violet we start the character arc like at the second half of Vinland season 2, but it's hard for me to ignore that they are both extremely capable warriors who regret their actions xD.

Meant to watch 7,8 & 9 in a row a few days ago, but the journey was over after episode 7... Being a father to a daughter this one hit harder than I thought. 😭 This show truly knows how to play my emotions like a fiddle . .. Will have watch the reaction tomorrow. I hope I am ready (again)...

MADHOUSE

Digging your guys' new decor. Would love to see the old stand with the figures again. IMO I think figures always make for a good background if the content is anime/game related. Whenever I think, or get reminded, of Violet Evergarden, I always immediately recall episode 7's lake scene where Violet makes the leap with the umbrella. That shot has to be the most beautiful animation from this show, despite all of the other amazing KyoAni shots. This show is too gorgeous.

Nice. I had posted something similar on discord a few weeks earlier. One feels empty because of the loss of love, the other felt empty because of the loss of hate. They were both weapons in their childhood, now realizing the folly of their ways..

Yeah the focus is definitely different but it's difficult not to see some parallels. I like them both.

Matt Rhinehart

Please for the love of god, dont make us wait too long for the next 2 episodes!

Aizensalami

Ep 7 is really beutiful. The scene when she says "I'm burning" was really touching. Can't wait for the next upload :)

Astrea

Of all things shot, it had to be the eyes that Violet found beautiful about Gilbert the first time they met...

Atar

I don't remember, it's been a second. Does it say how the military got her in the show?

As a father myself, Episode 7 hits me like a damn truck. It's little pieces of media like this that help me understand the importance of family and my little dude. My son is the world to me, and I can't imagine my life without him. My heart always breaks for this guy and his daughter, because I know this is a reality for some parents. I can't fathom the grief of that loss, and how difficult it would be to move forward :(

She was picked up by a ship Gilbert's brother was on, she went apeshit on the crew and was brought back to Gilbert as a weapon. From there his brother told the army the situation that Violet was essentially a feral kid who could kill really well. They reference "the training ground" several times and it was there she is surrounded by a bunch of unconscious (or maybe dead) soldiers.

HentiDenti

So for episode 8 it does not explain but in the Light Novel it goes into more detail only slightly on how she was trained and what she was like growing up as a solider from the very get go. Starting off in Gilbert's brothers hand leading to when Gilbert got her. The show never covers it but only talks about it here and there. She was basically a orphan picked up to be used as a weapon starting off with Gilberts brother and got moved into Gilberts army after the brother was done with her when some shit with down with his naval crew and her.

Nah I’d win

Just thought about that during the last episode, especially seeing her with the fire in the background reminded me the most of Thorfins scenes

Lmao yeah we didnt but the poster looked cool and there werent a lot of options unfortunately. We really wanted a kaguya one or vinland saga.

Aiyuu

The anime never show much of Violet’s backstory (which is sad because it’s fantastic) probably because they want the viewers to focus more on her present job as an auto memory doll than her soldier backgorund. This is a bit disappointing for me actually because the novel goes very detailed into her past and shows her talent in fighting so much more. If all of the action scenes in the novel were adapted in the anime, the show would have been even better with a good balance of action and story. But I get that the studio clearly just want to focus on portrarying the ordinary life rather than action.

adam

W new lighting and setup!

Cheyenne R Spina

There are two movies: Violet Evergarden: Eternity and the Auto Memory Doll at 1h 31mins from 2019 and then second will be Violet Evergarden: The Movie at 2hr 20 mins from 2020

Disantos

Episode 7 destroys me everytime i see it.

Aida Antazeeva
