So, this anime does have a ton of jokes and references to other anime, that will most likely fly over your heads, there will probably be people explaining everything, but honestly I dont think you will enjoy it less for not getting those references/jokes. Some of the references im sure you guys wont miss tho.

This series has a lot of relatable things for a lot of different people for different reasons, so good. I'm an introvert and have some degree of social anxiety so I relate (and cringe lol) a lot with this but the one thing that made me love this series is that thanks to watching Bocchi made me play the guitar again after 10 years (I studied music but then gave up) so this series has a special place in my heart. Btw there's a series on Bocchi's youtube channel named "Road to guitarhero" with her VA learning how to play the guitar and the OP.
