If you haven't noticed yet, the middle credit intermission doesn't say "fullmetal alchemist" for someone when they've died.

✨ R E S P E C T A B L E M U S C L E S ✨

Driscollis

also I'm gonna be so sad when this one is over 😭 fma:b is one of my favorites

KaijinGarou

Carlie made it preemptively weird 🤣

KaijinGarou

Envy is so jealous that he attacked himself.

AyBe
>>115281282

Yep! For example, Envy's/Hughes's portrait didn't say it after their death. Kinda like a moment of silence for the character.

KaijinGarou

I wonder, a time after they end the show and Ange doesn't get to see Hawkeye anymore, will he want her back or will he want her back? Sorry 😅

KaijinGarou

Justice for Envy? Hell, no, injustice for Envy! Let Roy kill that asshole 🤣. Nah he was a fun villain but he really deserved to be melt down by Roy, and I don't think that would make Roy a bad leader, but I get their point. The important part is Envy's dead and Roy and Riza had a cute moment.

KaijinGarou

Fucking real life Jaegererists 🤣

KaijinGarou

I didn't know Alex was Vegeta. Dude, that's a range. They sound very different. I kinda can hear it now I know but barely, it's really subtle.

Veya

Bradleys way of surviving the fall is the only way it could have happened. Remember he doesn’t have regeneration or durability like the other hommuculus. You’ll see how it matters as the series goes on. And also the guy was dodging bullets and cutting a tank shell in half, but jumping on rubble is where the line was drawn lol. There’s no sensible physics in this series. He’s a pure speed and agility character.

Sam-A

These are some of the best episodes and the best is yet to come, i can't wait <3 Thank you for going through the effort of uploading the full reaction. love your discussions , theories , music and content. Thank you <3

CastSenpai

Bradley, Buccaneer, Greedling, all so DAMN cool.

KaijinGarou

I think Bradley would have survived falling with the train without many issues. Even if not, I think he's the only Homunculus we haven't seen die once yet in the entire show, given how skilled he is, so he must still have more than enough souls to regenerate from that. I took his survival story more like a joke or he showing off like "dude, I just walked away from the train".

OmniBlazer

I didn't feel sorry about Envy at all, I think he's trash and 100% deserved to die. Having said that, I was more thinking about how pathetic he was, and the Homunculi in general, in that these beings were created by father for very cruel and sad purposes, born to be the embodiment of a sin. The Homunculi are technically superior in terms of their abilities, but their sense of self was predetermined. Seeing Envy trying to comprehend that Ed and everyone else can move on, change and grow was the part feel sad about, not Envy himself. In his very last moment, I thought he may be starting to realize and overcome his pre-programmed perspective and tendencies, but I'll never be sure, because he chose to end his life instead of following through on that internal struggle.

Jake Thompson

It was never about killing Envy, it was about Roy giving in to hatred and enjoying inflicting pain and torturing him. Angelo saying he was "calm" when it would've been more correct to say he was being "cold" is why they stopped him. It would have changed Roy for the worse to go full dark side and finish off Envy.

Dinamo89

Well there is actual symbolism in how Homuncules perish/lose according to their sin name (to not spoil I'll only talk about ones by now): Lust - Was brought to her knees by a man who did not lust for her while she "fell" for him, in her final moments she loved his cold focused eyes. Gluttony - was eating people, he ended up eaten himself. Envy - Jealous of humans, he always tried to push them down beneath him, he was not able to be "Better Than Them" so he killed himself. Sloth - he wants to laze around, But ends up dying from trying hard.

The Lust one still is so funny to me because the VAs are actually married in real life. Imagine going home for dinner that night having just killed your wife on screen :')

Philipp Scheuer

Ooooh boy was I waiting for the team up between Alex and Sig. That's my favourite moment of the series or atleast really high up there. It's just perfect, the way they don't talk at all to each other. They see eachother, and just respect and admire eachother, no words needed, just firm handshakes (probably really firm) and some muscle flexing.

Girl Wonder

This show is just so good. Loving the reactions!

Tezca

I swear King Bradley is one the best villains in anime history. He's just so intimidating and brutal. I think I would rather fight Father than Wrath lol

Jordan Mills

The scene with Hawkeye, Ed and Scar lecturing Roy about killing Envy is the most asinine nonsense ever, I completely forgot about how much it pissed me off the first time I saw it until I just rewatched it there, it's pure drivel, cannot fathom how it's in such a good show.

AyBe
>>115285372

The guy (Chris Sabat) voices Alex, Vegeta, King Vegeta, Piccolo, All Might. Basically any big muscular guy in anime dub is probably him lol.

Fajar Kurniawan

maybe you'd realised it by now. the narrator went silent on "Fullmetal Alchemist" intermission card. everytime a character died. a moment of silence for them

Night Sterling

Envy's so jealous of humans 99% of the time he's in a human form and he even made I guess is what he thinks is the "perfect" human form

PackerMan
>>115284953

It's the slippery slope analogy prominent in many stories, including Batman. Once you let yourself be consumed by that level of rage, the second time it becomes easier, the third becomes even more easier, until one day you just become as ruthless as the ones you wanted replaced.

Amrith

I can see why Carlie is worried about Sig kicking the bucket coz both Vander and Thors did and Sig is the next closest looking entry. 😆

KaijinGarou
>>115285372

Well tbh I don't know Nappa's English voice that well because I watched DBZ in Spanish and Japanese for the most part. I knew Vegeta's better because he's much more popular but it's good to know.

KaijinGarou
>>115284953

Yeah I get it although I don't think there was going to be a second time. They're so close to the end now and only Envy had Roy's blood boiling like that. But better not risk it I guess

Ang

Ange, after you got the morse code prediction I thought you were back, so I mortgaged my house and bet it all on you for these past few episodes, suffice it to say now I'm homeless, but I still believe! Rooting for my boy Ange from now on over at the soup kitchen Great reactions, Hohenheim's reveal that he personally spoke with every single one of the 536k souls in him is in my favorite moments of the series. Great callback to when Carly mentioned that Hohenheim seemed "noble" some episodes ago when we weren't sure if he was going to be part of the good guys or the big bad. Thanks for going through this gem of a series, going to be sad when this one is over

Enrico Gratzer

I think I was on the side of the fandom that felt for Envy. Not sadness, but more so pity. Seeing what an asshole he was made him an unforgivable character sure, but something about the way his death was handled was so perfect— he was a character that always looked down and pitied humans, but in his final moments it was the other way around; it wasn’t the saddest death in the series but it was definitely up there as one of the best written ones. Also: ✨💪🏼RESPECTABLE MUSCLES💪🏼 ✨

KaijinGarou
>>115292203

And yet they get owned by humans a lot tbh. Except for Bradley, who seems to be the only one whose skill is on pair with his ego. At least Lust and Envy were good strategists but the rest so far...

BBT
>>115352297

the Tanjiro approach. Beat the shit out of it and kill it, but still feels empathy

Li Hong

In the Japanese version of the dialogue between Hawkeye and Mustang (ep 54), I remember the subtitles are a bit different. I remember Hawkeye said if she has to shoot Mustang, she would not be able to carry on and she would bury herself next to the flame alchemist. This is what drove Mustang to shoot the flames sideways. I see it as Hawkeye expressing how she feels. Both Mustang and Hawkeye's father are flame alchemists but we know who she is referring to. I hope the subtitles I saw are correct.

J-or-Dan
>>115307795

There's killing and then there's playing with your food mustang was clearly doing the second and that's why they were talking to him

Li Hong
>>115292203

To be fair, Bradley was a normal human whom had combat skills training since young.

Jordan Mills
>>115307795

I'm not trying to be confrontational here, just want to make that clear. I disagree however, I can kind of see a more thematic point to the scene about rulers not allowing personal issues to impact their decision making but I don't think that has much relevance to the actual scene. Hawkeye intercedes only when Roy is about to kill Envy, not before, so I don't see how it's about anything other than him being the one to kill them. And to have three characters with such different outlooks and perspectives all converge over what amounts to semantics in this situation just breaks my suspension of disbelief completely. Todays the day the world ends guys, get your gun out of your allies face for the love of God, there are actual important things going on. To reiterate again, I'm not trying to be argumentative about this, I wrote the comment in a fit of pique last night, I get that other people won't get wound up about it as much as me :)

Becca d
>>115293391

I saw a comment that lust died to the hands of a man who was saving the Woman he actually loved and I thought that was a cool interpretation of her death by sin

OutsourcedSailor
>>115307795

It's alright to have different opinion, I wanted to see Mustang obliterate Envy just as much as anyone else lol but I think you're overlooking things that makes that scene great. Today's the day the world ends, so better just walk after Envy in the basement torturing him instead of turning him to ash in thirty seconds and moving on to Father.

Li Hong

Please check out the OVAs of FMA Brotherhood. One of them is about Izumi and Sig. One is about a blind alchemist.

Charles Malo

im a week late here, but i laughed so hard on episode 54's first few seconds... every time ange brings up the female titan's blood... i can't help but laugh because i was probably one of the first 5 people that gaslit him at the time on patreon before it became a channel meme... Attack On Titan Meme in exchange of light gaslighting?" Well, as Levi would say: "No regrets."
