Now thats a huge surprise 😮

TetraLuna

OMG THE JOY I FELT WHEN I SAW THE NOTIFICATION COME THROUGH FOR THIS

beannie

OMGGGGG LETS GOOOO😭 this show has been my obsession over the past few days!!! Thank you <3

Degenerick

at least this is a good compromise for hunter hunter winning

Trent Claycomb

I knew you’d do this! One piece is the greatest manga/anime of all time and they did it respect. It’s not as good and they changed some stuff up but excited for you guys to see this. There are small spoilers for the anime however if you plan to watch after the live action.

정빈 이

What a surprise! I genuinely think its ok to watch live action one piece and happy that you guys are trying this!

Tristan Scholtens

Lmao my notification cut off on “One Piece” so I had a small heart attack

zzip711

YESSSSSSS

remvrk

what happened to hunter x hunter?

Noctislolig

I was really excited for a moment. Until I realized it's the live action lol

Callum

I am overall torn about this lol. One hand is some kind of one piece content and this may simply make you want to watch the anime even more sometime. However (to me at least) the live action whilst good doesn't come close to the anime. Ig I'll take what I can for now lol

remvrk
>>117370246

I don't spend all my time on here my guy I don't know where they explained anything about the series.

Callum
>>117370080

Haha omg same I was semi disappointed when I saw the brackets 😅

Carlie & Ange
>>117370606

We're just not sure when we're ever going to be reacting to the anime, so this was the most obvious compromise/solution 😆

Callum
>>117370606

All good, again I'm still semi happy to see this (I mean u guys will probably like it more than someone like me who loves the anime anyway)

Zilch001

I’m an anime fan, and I really enjoyed this. Super excited for y’all to enjoy this world and its characters. There are changes, but it’s not about what’s missing it’s about what’s there, and what’s there is a great adaptation of some of the best source material in anime.

le

AGHHH IM SO HAPPY

le

This live action is amazing I’m so glad you’re watching it ❤️

iice woy

Surprise ineed I almost have a heart attack

Martina

no way! I haven't watched the anime, nor do I intend to (I simply don't have that much time in my life lol), but I really like the live action! can't wait to watch your reactions!

MasterOfPuppets

Hahaha. I knew you were cooking something. Great ! Wasn't sure if I wanted to watch the show. Now the decision has been made. Count me in😃👍

Fumi フミ

Thanks for the reaction! very excited for this one. In the future if you ever want to explore other amazing anime adaptions, the Rurouni Kenshin live action movies are in my opinion the best live action anime adaptions and have incredible choreography. The actor for Zoro is actually in them too

Lone Nightfall

Dodging the knowledge of Luffy beeing a rubberman for 25 years is wild. You will have a blast. The show is kind of close to the source material, but it changes up things to be better adaptable as a live action format.

Barion

Yeeeees.... take in the gateway drug.... :D

blargerer

There is no time period. Each island has its own tech level to some degree.

YK

Will be waiting for the anime reaction one day. <3

Decaf

I think they did a really good job merging arcs so it fits to these seasonal series better. But besides that… it was alright. I appreciate the efforts tho

Aleksandra

haha as soon as Zoro popped out on the screen I saw Carlies face! Girl we've all had the same reaction :)

Habbo Behrends

Actually there are over 200 known devil fruits. The live Action series covers the Anime Episodes 1 to 45. The hole series is not completely accurate, but near so they can convey the meaning and feeling. And that’s the big difference to all the trash Live Action anime series, the creator of one piece was involved in this Serie. There is even a video on the Netflix channel where the Actor of Luffy is meeting Oda.

Condor7215

Hey that’s me I’m a Patreon😮

ImZeaT

If you ever plan to watch One Piece, you should start from the beginning of the anime, they skipped a lot in the live action.

Merfhew

Honestly, I have mixed feelings about this. Jumping on the hype train makes total sense for a reaction channel, I won't deny that - it brings you views & traffic, it stops the daily / hourly show request comments from people who insist you watch the newest popular thing (at least until next time), and it makes a lot of people happy. You've mentioned that every option in the "OUR BIGGEST POLL!" poll is an anime you're interested in watching some day, so you'll at least get to dip your toes in the One Piece waters now (13% RIP). Oh, and I've heard good things about the live action series, which honestly shocked me (live action shonen doesn't have the best track record), so it sounds like you're in for a good time. 🙂 The reason(s) I have mixed feelings about this news is because, as I referenced, One Piece didn't win the poll. I haven't seen the live action series yet, so it'd be unfair of me to praise or critique, but I'm sad to know you won't be going on the same One Piece journey I grew up with. The series means a lot to me (kinda like Ange and DBZ), so knowing that you won't be blind if / when you react to the anime's East Blue Saga makes me kinda sad. Contrary to my rant, I really do hope you enjoy the live action series. Again, I haven't seen it yet, but when that day comes, I'll be excited to watch it again with you guys. Please be careful of anime + manga spoilers (especially on YouTube). As you're well aware, fans can sometimes inadvertently reveal more than they should about the shows they love. I'd hate to see someone explaining what the live action leaves out if you still plan on watching the anime eventually.

Beau Baratheon

This is exciting!!! I was one of those people who said they’d never watch one piece cause of the length but I finally did and just recently caught up and I have to say this might be my favorite anime of all time!! I enjoyed the live action as well too!! Hopefully in the future well see the anime on here!!

Luizy Csy

The live action is indeed successful in fact many non fans actually started to get into the anime after they watch the LA

Harlee

COMPARISON TO THE ANIME- the LA is based on the manga so it has new things for anime fans as well. Most episodes compress the plot points and add parts that happened off screen. Most of the writing choices make sense financially, though there are a few straying episodes that disappoint fans, but I don’t know if newbies will care. Zoro is EXACTLY like the anime. Luffy embodies the spirit of the character. Great casting!

NikoCat11
>>117397272

Yeah, me too, It took me years to try watching / reading this and it's my favorite show nowadays. It's so precious.

KaijinGarou

This is 100% the best anime adaptation in history. Now, that's not saying anything because all the others are just terrible 🤣 but this one is pretty good regardless. I haven't seen all of OP but I had pretty much everything that goes into this adaptation and I actually liked better how they did some stuff in the live-action, which has no precedent xD. First Arcane with an amazing videogame adaptation and now this. Who would've thought.

jediburrito

I think Luffy's actor does a great job at coming across as empathetic but dumb which is his most important aspect. I think he's weak when it comes time to be angry and serious. Also he can be faster when it comes to his timing on saying something stupid. I think he's passable but frankly he could work on the character for sure. Zoro and Nami are both a lot better. But Zoro comes across as too one note. Zoro in the anime actually does smile. Some of his most iconic moments are when he's doing like a menacing smile. Nami is probably the best of the 3 imo. Only issue with her is she feels a little flat when she's expressing anger. When she said "I hate pirates. I hate them" it felt more like she was explaining to her server that she had pineapple on her pizza. Colby and Helmeppo funny enough I think are some of the best actors in the series. Colby was this perfect anxious little meerkat and Helmeppo was this perfect big mouth spoiled brat.

NikoCat11

The live action is cool. The anime / manga is MUCH better, of course, but they did a great job with so little episodes, I was glad for the first time.

Merfhew
>>117394262

@Esteban - Wow, seriously? 🤦 Telling me to "shut up" is not a good look. Please do better.

Merfhew
>>117394262

@Luizy - Welcome to the world of One Piece! I'm glad the live action series pulled you in. 🙂 Have you finished it yet? If so, do you plan on starting the anime or manga now, or will you wait for Season 2 instead?

KaijinGarou

After fighting Zoro, 7 was demoted to 3,5.

Merfhew
>>117397272

I'm happy to hear it. Welcome to the world of One Piece! 🙂

Nick

this isn't bad but the anime is so much better

Jjj.

didn't hxh win the poll?

GK1097

Wooooooh! One Piece Live Action let's goooo! The trailer for this was so good it made me start the anime. So I finished 45 episodes before the live action released and it is amazing how much they stuck to the original! But also I like the small changes that were made to accommodate live action while still retaining the heart of the manga/show! Also all the actors are absolutely amazing! Luffy's actor is so good as him! So are all the others! Also One Piece is very friendship focused show so no ships between the crew.

Collin

keep watching the live then start the anime even if its on your on time no other anime like it their is a reason it has gone on for over 1k episodes

Philipp Scheuer

Although I just cought up to the anime not even a month ago and if it ever comes to that I would be so excited to eventually watch all of it again with you guys. From what I've heard the live action is great aswell

Andhy thomas

If i could take the moon for you two carlie&ange i would ❤️

Halibel

im getting so hyped to see you guys react to the live action version of one piece i really want you guys to react to the anime version too i hope after this series cause i really want you guys to compare the counterparts it would be so much fun holy moly and which version is better.

Halibel
>>117394262

i 100 percent agree with you hope they watch one piece anime too im not gonna lie 1 ep a week is good enough for me then after they finish HxH they replace it with that that seems fair im coping so hard xd

remvrk
>>117370246

I’m a kdrama patreon I don’t visit their youtube channel often but I am interested in their hxh journey so I missed the community post anyways they already answered kindly which you need to learn how to do instead of acting like a smart ass. Have a nice day.

Robert F

Awesome to see both of you start this! I started OP back in the early 2000s and I think it's an excellent jumping point for the series. It's a bit abbreviated but it does a good job covering everything that is truly needed and is on point with casting, costumes, set design and its script. Hope you enjoy it!

Douglas Kelley
>>117370246

You sure are keeping up with this conversation for someone who claims they don’t spend their time on here.

Denden Balan-eg

anime is good if not for the boring, repetitive flashbacks/dialogues. It even takes couple of episode just to finish a simple damn conversation

Chrisiyyi

The characters are very diverse in clothes, the anime is going very hard on goofy designs etc. there is no real time period, If you think one piece is to long you can watch one pace, its basically a fan project that edits the anime episodes and cutsout all the filler into a more condence story https://onepace.net/watch

astral_

and the fact that i like how live action nami ACTUALLY fights.
