I like how they did the villains in this show, the actors are killing it, even when by all rules they should be super cringe, like the killer clown and this cat dude haha. but when his henchmen started hissing and clawing like cats, that took me out 😭 they're too much did you notice a detail btw? Kuro adjusts his glasses with his knuckles, because he's used to having claws!

I found Zoro's backstory a little cringe because of the actors not doing a great job and the things they changed or left out. I like Kuina much better in the anime. They probably skipped the reason she died because it is a little ridiculous in the anime, you don't really need to know 🤣. It's still better than nothing, I guess.

Kuro's actor does a very good job but it's very cringe the cliche of the villains not killing when they can and when that's all they've been waiting to do for 3 years. Kuro giving the fucking speech every time or using his freaking gloves full of blades to just push Usopp away with the palms 🙄. All he talks is how long he's been waiting to kill them and he just won't kill them! 🙄🙄 It's not like the anime is exactly free of that though...

I mean yeah, you have to suspend your disbelief a bit when you're watching an anime adaptation, the setting is just not that grim, even if we have had some gory moments thus far (mostly including Zoro, lol)

Guess so, but if you're gonna make that change, commit to it. That's what adaptations are for after all. The show isn't gonna be rated PG anyway with all the slicing in half so... You just don't put your characters in situations where they should die because when they don't the villain looks like an idiot, and that messes with the grim tone. I still enjoyed the LA very much though despite of the cheeky and over the top moments. Wasn't that far in the anime when I dropped it and made me get back to it.

Weakest episode for me so far, but I still like the show. When Carlie is calling for blood you know the villain is doing a great job! 😂 I like almost all of the characters, but not every part of the story convinces me (so far). Still a very funny reaction with you guys! 😍

its actually not ridiculous but in fact has darker undertones the reason given in the anime and manga hints at the possibility that kuina might have killed herself due to the meaning behind falling down stairs in japan however she could have literally just fallen down.

to be fair, the whole Garp being on Luffy's trail this early was definitely not a thing in the anime so there was no reason to do the reveal or even tell us who Garp even is

I'd find that extremely weird after the promise they made though. Out of character. I didn't know about that other meaning but she probably just fell down xD. I mean that's a perfect serious reason to die IRL but a bit stupid for an anime sword master.

Im just theorising here that maybe kuina isnt truly dead as fans have been theorising for years now although i suppose there's no proof. Spoiler!!!!: A lot like the croco mom theory from the beginning of the live action at the execution. Although i suppose its just a theory but kuina falling on her sword and the revolutionary army arriving at the island the same time plus zoro inheritting the wado ichimonji which just happens to be one of the great swords. I feel as though zoro and kuina backstory isnt completely finished a lot like us understanding sanjis whole story very recently. Also tashigi is super suspect. Unless Oda jus trolling which is also very possible.

Merry is named Merry because Merry had a little lamb, but some other answers are layered. The other wtf why questions you are asking, "how did Kuina die?" and "why are these pirates escaping" are some of those that that have really important answers, or created conspiracy theories and hilarious memes in the one piece community

I did look more into it and it seems like that's false. Falling down stairs is not a Japanese euphemism for suicide and Oda himself confirmed she did literally fall down stairs xD. Apparently all that cultural thing about it being a synonym for suicide is fake information. It wouldn't make sense for me that she killed herself after finding new motivation and making a promise to Zoro anyway as I already said.

what bored me from this anime is during fight scenes the impacts are godly strong and no one dies even though they got hit by a beyond godlike attack.
