LisanAlGareeb

been refreshing this site since 3 fucking hours!!! lesssGOOOOOOOO!!!!

Meg

oh I am so ready for this!!

Smash Bran'Discootch

YES HERE WE GO! A clever commenter made the joke, "By the end of this series, Ange is gonna EAT the tissue box!" Now we need a still image of Ange with a fork and knife poised over the tissue box on a plate to flash on screen for hype moments like Hinata taking Ushijima's Ball. 🤣🤣

Clément Creton

Haikyu community love this manga like crazy love u all Carlie and ange thinks we are crazy 😂😂but maybe they will love this as we do 🥰🥰🥰

googlek1 .

The one thing I luv about the Haikyuu community is how kind everyone can be. Now, let's go you desperate Haikyuu junkies! LOL...

Smash Bran'Discootch

Also just to immediately clarify this, "Ushijima" and "Ushiwaka" are the same person. His name is Ushijima Wakatoshi and Ushiwaka is a nickname taking the Ushi from Ushijima and the Waka from Wakatoshi. There is also a famous figure from Japanese history named Ushiwaka or Ushiwakamaru(Young Bull).

Carlos Cantu

Let's gooooo fave season incoming (tho they're all top tier)

bebe

Hinata's JAPAN will always be funny to me. ahah

bebe

but as ushiwaka thinks seijoh is not good enough because they couldnt even took one set win from them as shown back in last season 1. so he thinks that oikawa is the only one who is good enough.

bebe

as far as i know, you have to be the top one or the winner in your perfecture, then you go to nationals where you will fight with other top teams from each perfecture. They will hold the nationals rotationally so if the town holding the tournament is big, like tokyo, they would have more than one team representing tokyo whereas a small town like miyagi where karasuno is, they will only have one representative team.

RPSiege

I don’t know how well it translates to Australia, but you can think of the *fall prefecture* tournament as similar to a state tournament in the US. So pretend Karasuno is from Oregon and Nekoma is from California. They would have to compete in their own state tournament before they can move on to the national US tournament so to speak. Sorry I really don’t know much about Australia (classic American here), so I can’t apply it directly, but hopefully that helps things a bit *edit* mistakenly called it the spring tournament, thanks for clarifying emma!

bebe

yachi is our little shy and overthinking girl lol

bebe

tsukki is just salty and stingy so we either call him saltyshima or stingyshima. he's just being himself lmaoo but then he promised hinata and kageyama that he will teach them before and after clubs and he did teach them but hinata and kageyama came to ask during lunch break that's why he said no and come back during business hours. so i guess tsukki is not being mean there.

Clément Creton

Carlie pass new opening 😭😭and new ending ost 😭😭😭😭

wicecakes

I forgot how much the soundtrack had elevated in season 2

Jey Zu

Thank you so much I was waiting all the week.Great reaction.

Smash Bran'Discootch

Oh man, if they're this excited for the Jump Floater, the Feints, and the Dump just wait until they see the Flippity-Floppy Arm Breaker, the Kessel Run, and Za Warudo. Also, someone clip carlie asking if SAEKO-NIISAMA was worth mentioning and use it against her later. 🤣

emma

The only tournament where Karasuno and Nekoma can meet officially is Nationals (Karasuno is in the Miyagi and Nekoma is in the Tokyo prefecture). So Karasuno would have to beat Seijoh AND Shiratorizawa to make that happen (I think they say this in 2x1). :)

Danny

Akira Toriyama is my favorite team 😅

emma

This is a common misconception, the state/prefecture tournament takes place in fall. The spring tournament is just another name for Nationals. This isn't your fault though because the show/subtitles themselves mess the names up lol.

Rae

A note about the big guy from Shiratorizawa: His name is Ushijima Wakatoshi, and sometimes people call him Ushiwaka to shorten it. "Ushi" from Ushijima, and "waka" from Wakatoshi. Pronunciation: OO-shi-JI-mah WAH-kah-TOH-shi / OO-shi-WAH-kah

RPSiege
>>119349381

You’re totally right! I slipped up here, I’ll edit so I don’t cause more confusion

Danny
>>119349381

The inter high is also a national tournament. There's 2 in the school year. The Inter high which takes place during summer and the Spring Nationals which technically take place during winter since they end in the middle of January.

Danny

Easiest way to explain would be imagining if Karasuno is school in Queensland and Nekoma is a school in Victoria. They can only meet in an official match if they both beat all the schools in their region and qualify for the national tournament. Japan has 47 total prefectures / states/ provinces.

Ginta Liepiņa

Hypekyuu is backk! Was waiting for this and I am so excited! Watching your reactions feels like watching the show for the first time, it gets me sooo hyped! Can't wait for what's to come!

PJ

We can finally see Bokuto best ace

Mimi

Loved the cover of the OP and your reaction! For me the training arc is a huge part of what makes the matches so exciting. It just feels so rewarding when you see the process from where they started to where they are, when it's finally gametime. Also…yes Saeko (Tanakas sister) is absolutely worth mentioning. Ange will love her, because she loves Tanaka just as much as Ange does😆 In the chapter she was introduced we got her character info sheet and her Current Worry was: "Girls just don't understand how cool her baby brother is!" Isn't this just the cutest?! "I'm Hinata Shoyo, from the concrete." Iconic! Gets me hype everytime. Yeeesss the Tanaka Hinata friendship/mentorship is awesome i love it. But you can't forget Noya, they are the chaotic hype trio lol Yayy Yachi is heere! And so many more new great characters to come, can't wait. 13:35 Carlie's look🤣🤣🤣 Tsukki is a slooooww burn lol. But we love our Saltyshima/Stingyshima😆

NAME GUIDE: Fukurodani: FOO-KOO-ROH-DANI Bokuto: BOK-TOH Ushiwaka: (nickname of both his first and last name together (USHI)jima (WAKA)toshi

myel

Is Tanaka sister worth mentioning? OFC and you'll see why soon <3 loved the reactions guys! Hinata's "JAPAN" made me laugh every time! it was so cute

Jjj.

to add up to a comment above about Ushijima's name... He is USHI jima WAKA toshi = USHIWAKA. that's his nick name, and it's also the name of a famous samurai from japanese folklore. Of course a very powerful one.

Bibi

somebody get Ange a "I 💜 Tanaka" shirt 😂

MADHOUSE

Ah yeah, my favorite season. Now that we’ve established the characters and teams in season 1, the show really picks up from here.

Luna Meow

Yachi is my spirit animal. I love her so much.

Baduizm

You've predicted there's going to be an arc or two before the games start, but some special moments along the way like you've seen. Don't worry by season's end you'll get your fill of volleyball. You'll see so much volleyball your head will explode.

RoZiiii

I have a feeling that Ange will really like a certain someone from Fukurodani

Jess

Highlight of my day when I know you guys have uploaded a reaction to Haikyuu. I just love Haikyuu and ur reactions. So combined it's the best of both worlds. Before you know it haikyuu will be over. So enjoy it as much as you can!

Jess

Even though Aussie doesn't have many states, just pretend that we do. Winner (first place) of the preliminaries in Victoria will represent Victoria and go to nationals. Winner (first place) of the preliminaries in NSW will represent NSW at nationals. However, take into account Japan has 47 prefectures. So essentially approx 47 schools will represent their prefecture and go to nationals. Also to note, depending on the size of the prefecture the number of representatives will increase. For example Karasuno is from Miyagi Prefecture which is smaller than Tokyo. This means Miyagi can only have the high school who places 1st (one representative) to go to nationals. Whereas, Nekoma comes from Tokyo which is much bigger, so they might have 2 representatives of their prefecture that can go to nationals. For example, NSW in Aussie might have 3 representatives (top 3 high schools) represent NSW. While Tasmania is much smaller will only have 1 representative. This is just an example for you guys to understand. I know that we can't compare Australian states to Japanese prefectures. Just note that Karasuno and Nekoma will never play against each other unless they both qualify for nationals and can represent their prefecture. But for that to happen they need to both get stronger! (I might repost this comment in later episodes if you guys are still confused.)

Other anime tragic moment: characters dying, destruction, genocide Sports anime tragic moment: The 3rd years graduate (It hurts so bad)

Rae

Compulsively checked all week for the Haikyuu reactions, then this one dropped when I had plans and couldn't watch it. Then I realized it was just the full length, which I don't have access to, so I upgraded to Full Jellie in order to watch it ASAP. This is what Haikyuu does to me. I don't even care about sports, but for years this has been my favorite anime. No contest. Can't get enough of it. Thanks for loving it as much as any long-time fan! Love your reactions! (And I appreciate the Tanaka and Suga love. They can often get overshadowed by other characters in this show, and I love that you always call them out when they have a nice moment.)

Bellaxo

Loved it 😂❤️ I liveeeee for these man

Bellaxo

also Carlie trying to say “Fukurodani” took me out

Joker500

angelalala

laughed so hard when Carlie said Akira Toriyama (creator of DragonBall) when trying to say Shiratorizawa xD you guys are the best

Cayseron

i love how haikyuu breaks the social stereotype and agenda about introverts and extroverts. people are generally convinced that if you are introvert (socializing drains energy and being surrounded with people is tiring) you must be antisocial and vice versa, extroverts (socializing rejuvenates and being alone is tiring) are always the most social people. Shimizu is very much antisocial and can't make herself speak in front of others without feeling anxious but in spite of that she is very extrovert and it is spending time with the volleyball team that she cherish and gives her energy. Normally you'd expect her to be introvert with the way she acts as if she was forced in role of manager agaisnt her will or something. and now again with Yachi, she is just a giant ball of anxiety compressed and wrapped with a bowtie. She is so cute but so awkward in any social interaction that you'd assume she must be introvert and you'd be correct. yachi is very introvert but in the same time in spite of her social awkwardness she is one of the most socially positive characters when you get to know her. Just the scene after the study session in class 1.5 shows how introvert she is because even that one time period she spent with two people drained all her energy but not once until moment they separated did she feel like she dont want to be there. She wants to socialize, she is just not built for it which is what the cruel joke of predetermined social type (extrovert/introvert) is about and haikyuu did amazing job portraying it without making it intrusive or too much on the nose or break the flow of the anime / steal the thunder of the main topic

V D

The prestigious academy Akira Toriyama :)))))) EDIT: There are no restrictions on who can practice with whom. It's entirely up to the teams. There are a lot of things to consider, however: logistics, trustworthiness, competitive worthiness, hiding strats, etc.. which is why it was commented that these practice groups are built upon long years of maintaining connections, which Karasuno has none of (Nekoma is the only team they're on friendly terms with).

Mel

Blaming Tsukishima for not teaching Hinata and Kageyama outside the time they’ve originally agreed to(before and after club hours) and not to mention that studies and grades are something they’re responsible for themselves in the first place? NAH. That’s not it.

Mel

As far as I know, Spring Tournament is usually always held in Tokyo, and for InterHigh they take rotations.

Nignog
