Karasuno needs to win 4 more matches including the finals to represent as the qualifying school from the Miyagi Prefecture. In the recent past, Shiratorizawa has been the school from their prefecture to go to nationals each year.

I completely understand Ange, when he talked about not googling stuff to understand what all of these tournaments are. Would highly recommend not to look up anything about the next season/movie before finishing the previous season because some of the names of a season or movie titles are the biggest spoilers.

To try to clarify the preliminary/qualifiers/tournament/national confusion. Preliminary matches are before the spring tournament. The previous matches against the delinquents and the 2-meter guy are preliminary matches to see if and where you will be placed in the standings/seed for the spring tournament. The Spring tournament which is starting right now is the qualifiers to qualify to participate in the Nationals.

To keep it simple. They HAVE to win every game. Spring tournament = Nationals. Every match they are playing is to go to spring tournament/ nationals. They have to beat every team here to go.

I don't think Tsukki has hate towards Hinata. Throughout the series we see multiple characters recognize that Tsukki has an inferiority complex and thinks Hinata is above him in terms of volleyball talent. I think Tsukki is "mean" to Hinata not necessarily bc he hates him but because that's just Tsukki's personality and way of showing affection 😂

Whoever wins the qualifiers will go to nationals. The previous tournament put Shiratorizawa and Aoba Johsai as the best in their brackets. They don't have to play as many games. Starting next week, you both will lose your shit and the week after will be so good you will forget about the prior week.

Spring Tournament and Nationals is the same. We are already playing in the spring tournament right now, but this is the prefecture tournament and only the winner of the prefecture tourney will be qualified for nationals.

Preliminaries = Every official match we've seen in the past few episodes. Decides who should be allowed to play in the qualifying matches. Some teams who made it farther at the last tournament are exempt from certain preliminary games. Qualifiers = From this episode onward (starting from the Johzenji match). Decides which team will represent the prefecture (for us, that's Miyagi Prefecture, and for Nekoma/Fukurodani, it's the Tokyo Prefecture) at nationals. Nationals = The best team from every prefecture in Japan comes together to decide who is the best high school team in the country.

Great cover, Ange! There's a lot of good OP's in Haikyu, but I think this one is my favorite (S3 OP is fire too tho). Love how Carlie's initial reaction to "Mad Dog" was "cute little bumblebee" 😂Also, no... Kenma definitely does not want to fight Hinata to the death lol

Sorry but what? There is some spoilers in a lot of the openings. Like showing who Karasuno is versing next therefore showing who won the game prior. So please don't comment something before you've checked. You can edit your comment to say to check out the opening after 3 more episodes I believe. Not now, because it is a bit ignorant to recommend something before checking.

i think that's not the ideal decision for a show like haikyu which is purely hype inducing. the openings are so great that they add to the experience alot. They can easily react to each opening after every season or even mid season

that match point with nekoma with intense eyelock on kenma. to answer your question "what is that", kenma noticed that hinata is not longer closing his eyes doing quicks but also able to see everything while on top of the net. and then also one could make an argument that hinata was going for a wipe (umbrella thing) but kenma noticed just in time to lower his hand which is why kuro said how they finally cant afford to lower their guard against karasuno. but there is no proof of that, all we see in that scene that we can say for sure is that kenma noticed how much hinata evolved from simply jumping with eyes closed

Slight correction, Nationals *are* the Spring tournament. Preliminary matches are done to move into qualifiers, and ofc, winning the qualifier means you qualified to move onto Nationals (Spring tournament).
