Does it also feel like you're watching the anime whenever you read it? It does for me everytime because of how awesome the art style is *w*

JsonKim

Gell yeahh lessgooo

Valkyr

ayy lets goo

FTN Chicken

Well, isn’t this a bit of a pleasant surprise?

Zakai

When you finish this season, you should check out the parts of the manwha covered in this season as it’s one of the best drawn manga/manwha I’ve ever seen. If I had to describe the manwha in one word, this would be « epic ». The Artwork is next level. Hopefully A1 does justice to Solo Leveling even though the art will never get close to the manwha.

Stefanie

Nice, I didn't expect you to pick Solo Leveling up right away. Pleasant surprise. 👍 About the main character, it was mentioned right at the beginning of the episode, but you might have missed it. If you "awaken" as a hunter and your magical power gets measured (as was shown when ppl got assigned ranks), you will never get stronger. Meaning, the amount of power you awaken with is the amount of power you will have forever. You can try to improve your stats somewhat with better equipment but if you are an E-Rank after your awakening you will always remain an E-Rank no amount of Armour and weaponry can change that. Your rank will even determine what gates/dungeons you can enter. If I remember correctly every rank of gate as a prerequisite of the amount and rank of hunters are allowed/required to enter. I'm sure more details will come up later on. I really love the Manhwa. Even if the plot is not the most complicated, it is very enjoyable and the art of the webtoon is amazing. Unfortunatly Dubu, the artist who drew the Manhwa (which is actually based on a light novel), died a few years back. If you get the chance, try to read some of the chapters online. The panels and the art and the colors are incredible. Maybe wait for more action before reading, since the more action to more impressive the composition of the panels. I hope you'll enjoy the show and I'm keeping my fingers crossed they did a good job adapting it.

Nick

I bet Ange demanded this one LMAO.

I hope they incorporate a lot of the art style in the anime. It really stood out in the manhwa.

mpb

oh nicee solo leveling .. didn't expect it

Night Sterling

Yo now this is a welcome surprise. They did my boy baek justice at the start there 🔥. Now as to why the MC kinda just accepts all the bullying is cause he quite literally cant do anything about it because in this universe whatever rank you awaken as thats it thats your rank.

MrYinYang

Any plans to watch Frieren? Need more feel-good, wholesome content

WuXian Suibian

Just a quick note, the "healer" (Byung-Gyu) who was in the first fight is voiced by Junya Enoki, aka Yuiji from JJK.

I think they said it will most likely join the rotation!! I'm keen as hell

DRACO

The end of the episode is confirmed the opening song for this anime. It's called "Level" by TOMORROW X TOGETHER and Sawano Hiroyuki. Looking forward into the cover next week! Love you guys

Bibi

May I recommend two animes being aired right now? The Apothecary Diaries (kind of a mystery/romance anime) and Sign of Affection (romance anime)! I was pleasantly surprised how good they are so far!

𝑳𝒐𝒓𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒊 ♤

Make way for Sung Drip-woo!! The king of sauce before Gojo. Usually, I don't enjoy power fantasy as much as I enjoy more drama oriented stories. but Solo Leveling is an exception. The source material is incredible, and I had SUCH a blast with it! Thanks for surprise reaction guys!

yasmina C

so glad you're watching this. i remember reading this when it was all over the internet, and I loved it. I forgot most of the details but remember the big events still haha

Kiki Varas

The manhwa is great. I’ve read all of Solo Leveling and it’s really good. I hope they do a good job animating season 1 of Solo Leveling.

Decaf

I remember the year when every new novels and manhwa had either solo or leveling in its title. I was a bit skeptical when I read this but it was pretty good! So cool this got ported into anime.

I also want to throw in my suggestion for these two, when people only talk about and hype up action shonen its hard to get eyes on really quality storytelling like these shows. Apothecary diaries is set in imperial china about an apothecary girl. Sign of affection is a romance including a deaf girl who signs.

Jack

A great surprise to see this uploaded! So happy you guys are watching this, the first Manwha/Manga I read and what got me into reading more!

Sparky

Sun Drip Woo makes his anime debut!

Well, just bear in mind that these two really enjoy battle shonen/seinen. Quality story telling isn't exclusive to any single genre either. Shonen typically has a pretty formulaic approach to storytelling, but that doesn't define a poorly written anime. There's a reason that clichés and tropes exist - there's an audience that enjoys those things. Carlie and Ange both really enjoy these kinds of shows, not that they don't enjoy other genres, shonen is just seemingly the most enjoyable to them. I don't blame them either, shonen goes so damn hard sometimes!

Fumi フミ
>>126458731

I just want to clarify that I said nothing about solo leveling specifically, I never mentioned tropes or cliches or what I think about them. I read all of solo leveling as it was coming out and I know exactly why people are hyped for it and rightfully so. When the internet is screaming so loudly about one anime for the season, I just want to vouch for other great things that are coming out in other genres that Carlie and Ange have also watched and enjoyed.

Martina
>>126458731

they've said that they're considering Apothecary Diaries for a future poll!

Eric

This is the first thing you guys have reacted to that I have negative interest in. I'll probably still watch your reaction, but after reading the first couple dozen chapters of the comic I put it down.

Edward Michaelle

GDI! i was supposed to go to sleep and saw that this was already out hours ago. Im sure people at work would understand. Its the drip king.

Noctis

this was a surprised, i planned on binging this anime so ig ill watch these later

J

Let's go! Arise!

Clément Creton

When u have u rank u cannot lvl up in rank e will be always e rank same for all rank and they are paid by the loot they find . ✅blondie is rank s like god tier rank

Ygjez

Drip JinWoo arrived

Noctis

never mind this shit is fire and its giving me big sao vibes im liking it so far!!!!!!!

Carlie & Ange
>>126458731

Yep, it’ll likely feature on a poll for our patreon exclusive series sometime in the next month or so 🙂

Kolton Nay

Okay i think I'll actually watch this one alongside ya'll!

Алта

Yooo as soon as I heard Byung gu va I knew right away, Ange did you pick it up??

Zarehl

Ange - "she's average." Carlie - "average? Then I'm E tier." Bold move for Carlie to shift the entire tier list. Based on Ange's approximation, that would recalibrate Cha Hae-in at H tier.

ShadowQrow

Hope everyone's ready for CGI shadows. I have no faith in A-1 to make them look good at all.

Jesus Rocha

I know you guys won’t react to it but it would be great if you guys react to the new League of Legends cinemátics. There’s three new cinematics you guys have to watch 😍😎

Kevin Lin

I’ve always been told to read SL in the past but never got to it. Figured I’d wait til the first ep of the anime to drop and decide if I’d dive into it. Then to my surprise, you guys actually did a reaction to the series and that motivated me to read the manhwa. I read all 200 chapters within the last week and my goodness, we’re all in for a treat. One of the best stories I’ve read in awhile and I can’t wait for your guys’ reactions on this series!
