Here we go

I'm not gonna lie, I checked like every 15 minutes to see if you've already posted and even double checked if today is the right day. I should be cleaning right now but F that I've been waiting for this day for so long, I need this so bad. Let's get into it!

Mango

I hope to see The Apothecary Diaries after this. That will give you a break from pain at least a little. :,) I heard it was gonna be in a poll so lets hope it wins!

Just Anime

Thank you for react to this show (one of my top 10 anime ) :)

Lauren

Tissues at the ready!

mohamed rafee

Hopefully classroom of the elite is next! Not an emotional show but smart and amazing psychological show, pls react to it!

Jake Thompson

This show always hits me in a special way, it made me realize missed opportunities and not trying to go for something because you always think you'll have time to get around to it are my subconscious horrors. I can rewatch Violet a dozen times, but I've only been able to make it through this a couple times purely based on the ending.

Wiznoot123

Someone get Carlie all the tissues, a puke bucket and some water. She was fighting for her life through those episodes!

Dev25

One of my favourite anime’s that is often compared with Your lie in April is March comes in like a lion. Might be worth checking out on the channel! It follows a very similar protagonist but I feel like it’s written in a more real and mature way.

Papapada

So... Anohana next?

ONEEIGHTEEN

welp. im busting out the alcohol for this one.

Hikiko

Great reaction. If you guys like this you should consider adding "Vivy Flourite Eyes" to your radar. Another musical related anime with much more mature themes. I think you would enjoy it even if you watched it off camera.

beannieswife

i think this is the most i've seen carlie crying none stop😭 and i feel you girl, at least you still look pretty when you're crying haha. this was a devastating and beautiful journey with ya'll, i'm so excited for your reaction to the op's and end's!! i would still love to have one piece as an option too😞 maybe when the reboot comes out? i watched you guys enjoy the hxh 1999 ver. and it got me thinking how much you guys would enjoy one piece, i feel like it fits your taste.

Gabriel Barott

Was really unconvinced that I was going to enjoy The Apothecary Diaries, but it's one of my favorites now. Really great comedy, writing and there are some absolutely beautiful moments.

ONEEIGHTEEN

holyshit. it was 2 episodes combined but the 1st one flew by so fast.

Malik Ford

Alright now it’s time to react to To your eternity please 😂😅 this anime made my stomach hurt I felt sick

MrYinYang

I’m glad you guys got to experience YLIA. A very well written, well animated, musically produced, beautiful and emotional story. Anime like these show that anime can have more depth and are not “kiddy cartoons” or “silly battle shonens” that non-anime watchers complain about all anime. Really hope you guys get to experience more beautiful masterpieces like this. Looking forward to it!

Raul Velazquez

This ending made me cry so much and still does, Ange you’re a monster for not crying 💀 I can’t imagine not crying to this masterpiece of an ending.

Kaycee

I’m not sure if they have a replacement already but one I think one that would be cool is A Place Further than the Universe. It’s both wholesome and funny I think they would really like it.

Dat1GSedan

Yeah Anohana next, turn that 6 months of being emotionally destroyed into a year lmao

free

It is time for you to watch clannad or anohana ahah

Anime_Lover

it's just so funny how Ange always gets super uncomfortable with any sad scene and yells instead of crying while carlie has flood of tears coming down hahaha...

Elycius

I was right along there with Carlie on the last episode, that said, I think this is the best reaction I’ve ever watched to this anime. It’s one of the only anime I watch reactions to because I want to see other people to cry with me 💀 but your summary at the end shows you really understood what this anime was about and what it set out to do, not something that most people get on their first watch. I'm glad everything reached and got through to you, and that you both enjoyed this beautiful piece of art.

Anime_Lover

I think we should keep the ball rolling....make them keep crying hahaha...Code Geass next plz lol

Sharles Davis Kendy

My totally weird out of left field recommendation for a short, one season, great music, very emotional show to take this slot... Wolf's Rain.

Sharles Davis Kendy

Episode 20 is so good. Kousei used to believe that if he played well enough his mom would get better and obviously that is a silly thing to believe, but when his mother died he did blame himself somewhat, illogical as this may be. And now with Kaori he is trying harder, doing everything he can to help her and convicing her to do the surgery and whatnot. This is ends up being symbolized with the cat. Chelsea dies because Kousei didn't do enough. Now the reality is that he couldn't have stopped his mother no matter how hard he tried, but he didn't try as hard as he thought he should have. But in the present we have the new cat, whom he tries as hard as he can to save and it still wasn't enough. Some things are just out of his control.

Sharles Davis Kendy

I really like that bit at the end that reveals that Watari DID like Kaori. Not just as another random hot chick, but just legit had a thing for her. It makes him... A lot more likable.

František Pastorek

I do not know what so say. Usually, nothing. But, now... Thank you for reacting to this anime <3

Alejandro Garcia

when carlie said "my whole face is leaking" I lost it 'cause that was 100% me . I've never dehydrated so hard. i know ange was emotional as well even if he didn't cry. Loved your reaction guys

Alejandro Garcia

Also to add a little bit I love the details such as she saying that the sky was connected when they both saw the plane and then at the end during the performance the piano was part of the sky>

Woods

Congrats! You now understand the phrase "don't pull a your lie in april on me" LOL Also, the 2nd ending song is really good and lyrics hit hard. Recommend checking it out if you can. "From now on, I wonder what kind of things you will see. As for me, I wonder what I will experience right here."

Wasted Potential

Speaking of One Piece, you could argue that the original manga owes some of it success to Oda, who said he liked and he wish he had thought of it, causing sales to spike. Another trivia, the anime was being developed while the manga was still unfinished, and the author went back and forth multiple times if Kaori would die or not

Cannot find a duet violin and piano version of that Chopin ballad ANYWHERE else that I'm aware of other than the soundtrack version from this show. Such a smart musical arrangement. Personally I think some symphonies are sleeping on an idea that could draw in a young crowd. Don't mind me as I plant this idea here on the internet. P.S. Ange can try to deny it, but I think I caught a brief moment of weeping somewhere in this.

Sharles Davis Kendy

I feel what Angie means about being emotionally affected without crying. I too do the same thing. Every time I watch this show my eyes well up and my voice starts to break but crying does not happen. I do watch it every year (in April, obviously) and I do feel like I get closer to crying every year, but not yet. Maybe this year... Anyways, I do think the show gets better on repeat views. You can actually see Kaori in the Emi flashback for example. It's really cute.

paladar blade

If i remember correctly, I think that Chopin piece Kosei played was supposed to represent all the stages of grief from denial, anger, all the way to acceptance.

Gianne

Manga reader here! In the chapter for the last episode, we see more thoughts from the audience and other characters. When Kousei was playing the part where he says, "Reach her" (before Kaori appears), everyone was floored by how emotionally vulnerable he was being. Takeshi's actually, "Isn't he embarrassed? This performance is a love confession." Another thing not shown in the anime, probably because of lack of time left, is the audience's response to Kousei's performance. He got a standing ovation, and a lot of people were crying and were moved by his music. Emi was also teary-eyed and said that they (she and Takeshi) are on a journey to catch-up to Arima, which implies that Arima won the competition.

ONEEIGHTEEN

for the love of god. dont watch one piece. you guys should watch dress up darling

ChmpagnShadw

Classroom of the elite next poll

HansCent

Congrats on finishing this masterpiece!

Stonewielder

Definitely will always be in my top 5 anime!

keniskandar

THE LIE got me so hard, I appreciate being here with you all

Martin Roca

Gonna react to openings and ending?

Zabon

I've rewatched this anime 11 times now, it gets to me every time. Truly one of the best of all time. At least once a year I get the sudden urge to watch it again, when I'm down in the dumps and feeling stuck, and man is it impactful each time. One of those ones that really kicks you in the rear and makes you want to improve yourself.

Jesus Ascencio

These quotes fit perfectly "The culmination of love is grief, and yet we love despite the inevitable. We open our hearts to it""To grieve deeply... Is to have loved fully" Laufey God of War Ragnarok.

Dastan Askarbekov

A fun detail. When Kousei was playing the piano at Hiroko-san's, Nagi commented:"It's not like I want to be able to play like Arima-sensei!". But the actual translation is:"It's not like I want to become Arima-sensei's piano!" She wanted to be played by him like he played the piano)
