Thought I was ready for this, was not ready to see the ending again.. So good, so sad, so beautiful. I watched this show for first year in college, and enrolled in a piano class there very next semester. Was one of the things that got me back into music after not playing for a while, so it holds a special place in my heart. Glad you both enjoyed it <3

Watching the cycling scene from episode 16 after seeing how this anime ends breaks my heart. On that episode, she lists the things she was able to do with Kousei that day. Even though it was just a couple of insignificant things like helping a lost child, she knows she won't be there for long and those moments she spent with Kousei meant so much to her and she breaks down crying. Also the references to Ichigo Doumei is really beautiful as well

I work as IT from home, I was watching this because I never get calls on a Sunday, I got a call right after the "I love you" part and had to try so hard to talk normally while choked up lmao. Just put the call on mute for like 15 seconds and then was like "sorry, I was having some technical issues with the microphone"

I play the double bass in a symphony - every music student had to learn the piano at my uni. This anime gave me a newfound respect for the instrument and I went back and brushed off the dust. Highly recommend listening to Liszt's Liebestraum No 3 which is what I've been working on. EPIC piece of music.

I don't know how people have done it. The first time I watched this, was with friends and as soon as Kaori showed up in spirit form, I ran out of the house shouting 'noooooooo' and had to do a run around the block before I could settle down and be ready for it. I've never been able to put a reason to why I am okay with how painful this show is and you've nailed it on the head. It wasn't about how she died but how she lived, and how moments in our lives can be both tragically bitter while being undeniably full and beautiful, even if it is as small as a ripple from a cherry blossom petal falling in the water. Watching it again with you both has reminded me of that time I was watching it with friends. Thank you.

Don't worry Carlie. As a 30's year old man, this is my third time watching it and I cried multiple times throughout your reactions. Yeah I'm an easy crier, so what? lol. Ange I get that some people just don't cry. As long as you're feeling the anime that's all I can ask for... and maybe having a lighter hand when it comes to commentary during the most emotional parts! LOL just playing. The show is truly more heartbreaking on second watch than the first, when you know what's going on in Kaori's heart throughout the series.
