Chapter 53: The Beast's Shadow and the Soul Core
Underworld – Bael Territory
The overwhelming pressure that Trihexa was releasing suddenly dropped, replaced by an eerie, profound silence. The massive spectral maw of shadow-magic, an extension of Naruto’s Dragon Eater’s Grasp, was still clamped onto the shrinking, thrashing form of the Apocalypse Beast.
Trihexa was no longer a mountain range of shifting chaos; it was now merely the size of a large city block, contained within Ophis’s Perfect Cube: Infinite Prison. The crimson-black energy, its essence, continued to stream from the deep wound Naruto had inflicted, feeding into the extra-demon.
Sirzechs Lucifer, bruised, bloodied, and clutching a broken rib cage, watched the spectacle. His Power of Destruction was spent, leaving only a faint magenta shimmer around his tattered uniform.
"Did... did he do it?" Serafall Leviathan whispered, her breath ragged. Her ice magic was completely depleted; the air around her was now warm and humid.
Ajuka Beelzebub, with his hair scorched and the diagrams of his Kankara Formula flickering with chaotic error messages, shook his head gently. "Not yet. The beast's power may have diminished, but it doesn't signify defeat."
He indicated the diminishing creature with a trembling finger. "Take a better look. While its physical form is indeed getting smaller, the magical aura is dissipating far too rapidly. The energy being drained is merely the instinctual destructive energy. It seems that Naruto has managed to separate the body from its core in some way."
As if on cue, Trihexa’s eyes—the countless eyes across its body—all went suddenly dull, losing their terrifying, frenzied light. Its limbs stopped thrashing against the infinite compression of the Perfect Cube. It stood still, yet the ground continued to erode, though at a significantly slower pace. It was a beast operating purely on residual, destructive programming.
"The physical form is now just a husk of destructive force, poisoned and contained, but still immensely powerful," Ajuka concluded, a cold fear gripping him. "And Naruto is inside its mind, fighting the true enemy."
Suddenly, the residual energy around the physical Trihexa flared. The creature, sensing the external threats - the weak, spent Satans who were still a nuisance - began to move, its actions mechanical and crude. The containment cube shuddered violently.
"It's attacking the Cube!" Ophis's monotonous voice rang out, strained for the first time. "It is trying to break free. Even without its will, its essence is annihilation."
The physical tendrils, the ones that had pulverized Naruto only moments ago, slammed against the walls of the Infinite Prison. The cube held, but the pressure was immense, radiating outward like a continuous world-shattering thunder.
"Sirzechs! Ajuka! Falbium!" Serafall shouted, recovering her resolve. "He bought us a minute! We finish the body while Naruto fights the soul!"
Sirzechs forced a burst of Power of Destruction from his shattered reserves, hitting the contained beast. "If this thing breaks loose, we die, and the Underworld dies with us! It doesn't matter that it's mindless—a loaded gun is still a threat! Full Power!"
The four Satans, drawing on every remaining ounce of their power and magic, launched a furious, desperate assault on the contained, mindlessly-thrashing husk of Trihexa. Their job wasn’t to defeat it, but to keep it contained and weakened long enough for the true battle to be won.
Mindscape – Trihexa Soulscape
The blinding white light of the Soulscape felt deceptively calm. Naruto Satanchia stood face-to-face with the Core, the being that resembled a monstrous boy with mixed features—horns, wings of many creatures, and an unnerving, vacant expression. It was the transferred essence of Trihexa, now merged with the stolen body of Lord Bael.
"Great, just great," Naruto muttered, the massive influx of raw Trihexa power he had siphoned still raging in his veins, threatening to consume him. He struggled to maintain his will. 'Focus! Willpower over instinct!'
"You are broken," the Bael-core-Trihexa stated, its voice a hollow, multi-layered echo that seemed to emanate from the very white light around them. "You sought to consume annihilation, but annihilation consumes all."
Naruto, his Dragon Eater’s Grasp reformed into its regular arm-covering Balance Break, felt his spiritual essence being subtly eroded by the surrounding light. This wasn't just a psychological battle; the Soulscape was the ultimate nullification field.
"Empty words," Naruto snarled, his eyes flashing with the deep void-black of his Dark-magic. "My magic doesn't nullify; it converts. And I'm currently converting your little puppet body's pain into my new strength."
Naruto pointed a finger at the core. "I knew the physical form was a distraction. The Apocalypse Beast doesn't die; it simply finds a new vessel. Lucifer was a fool, and Bael was collateral. Now you're in the center of the Soulscape, right where I can hit you without collateral damage."
The Core tilted its head, a terrifyingly innocent gesture on its monstrous face. "Damage is irrelevant. I am the end of concepts. You may invert destruction into restoration, but you cannot invert nothingness."
The Core lifted its hand, and the white light around it condensed into a miniature, spiraling galaxy of pure white energy. It fired.
Naruto didn't hesitate. He knew the Divination outcome: ERASURE.
"I can't invert nothingness," Naruto agreed, activating the full capacity of his Inversion Magic, twisting the very rules of the Soulscape. "But I can invert yours."
The black sun that had momentarily appeared in the Underworld now manifested within the Soulscape. It was the purest form of Absolute Darkness—not the absence of light, but a physical force of pure consumption.
The two powers—the white spiral of nothingness and the black sphere of absolute inversion—met.
SHRRRR-K!
The sound was the tearing of fabric, of concepts being redefined. The white light was not defeated, nor was it converted into darkness. Instead, the surrounding white-space of the Mindscape itself began to invert.
The white light turned a sickly, corrosive purple. The emptiness of the Soulscape began to fill with inverted matter.
"You cannot use your own Soulscape against me," Naruto declared, pushing his power further. "When I inverted your physical attack, I stole its nature. I've now inverted your conceptual core, which means I've stolen the template of your nothingness."
The Core recoiled, a flicker of something akin to alarm crossing its face. "Impossible! I am boundless!"
"Boundless, but not unlimited," Naruto corrected, his voice iron. "And now you're bound to the concept of Inverted Existence."
The black sphere of Inversion expanded, wrapping around the Core like a binding chain of shadow-magic. Naruto knew this was his one chance. He was now battling the true essence of an Apocalypse Beast on a conceptual level, his power temporarily matching its own limitless nature through the parasitic power of Inversion.
"You can only be defeated by a greater monster," Naruto declared, his eyes burning with unnatural power.
He lunged forward, the Dragon Eater’s Grasp glowing obsidian black, its maw not just spectral, but conceptually hungry. He aimed for the Core's chest, where the lingering power of Lord Bael's stolen body was still tethered.
"Now I claim the body as well as the power! Consume!" Naruto exclaimed.
The spectral jaw of the Dragon Eater's Grasp clamped down, not on flesh, but on the very concept of the Core's current vessel. A shriek of pure, conceptual agony echoed through the inverted purple Soulscape as Naruto began the terrifying process of devouring the core of the Apocalypse Beast.
Underworld – Bael Territory
As the conceptual battle raged within the Mindscape, the physical effects were devastating. The Perfect Cube began to vibrate faster, but the contained Trihexa suddenly let out a final, weak shriek as its connection to the Bael body was severed.
The stream of power flowing into Naruto's Devil Gear from the wound abruptly stopped. The contained beast, severed from its core, instantly shrank one last time, until it was only the size of a mountain. It then slowly, agonizingly, began to decay.
The Satans watched, stunned, as the threat began to simply dissolve into foul, dark smoke.
The air around the Bael Mansion where Mio, Maria, and Ophis stood exploded in a rush of wind and black lightning. Naruto reappeared in a flash of shadow-magic, collapsing to his knees, his entire body radiating an immense, terrifying, and unstable power.
Naruto's breathing was ragged. His Dragon Eater's Grasp was no longer merely a Balance Break; it was now a colossal, monstrous right arm, covered in bone-white plates and black scales, dripping with unstable power.
"It is done," Ophis stated in a serene monotone voice. The Perfect Cube dissipated, revealing the rapidly decaying carcass of the Apocalypse Beast.
Naruto forced himself to look up at the distant, beaten Satans. "The core is contained. The vessel is destroyed. The threat... is neutralized."
Naruto stood, swaying, a god of inverted darkness and the stolen power of Trihexa. He had won a catastrophic victory, but the price was clear: the power he now wielded was barely his own. He had successfully devoured a beast-level entity, but the monster within was now stronger than the man.
"Now," he growled, his voice rumbling like thunder, "let's talk about the cost that each of you will face for assaulting my faction."
Chapter End

A/N: The conclusion of this story is approaching. I may add a chapter or two, but the primary antagonist, Trihexa, has been defeated, and Naruto has absorbed its power. With Ophis by his side, he stands unchallenged. I might write some bonus chapters featuring Naruto's romantic escapades with his wives, girlfriends, and friends with benefits, but overall, this story is nearing its end.
