Chapter 5: The Gala
Mystic Falls - Salvatore Boarding School
The transition from a "Malivore Breach" to a "Town Gala" was the kind of whiplash that only existed in Mystic Falls.
One day you were fighting a sentient pile of obsidian sludge in a basement, and the next, you were expected to wear a tuxedo and discuss historical preservation with the local Town Council. Naruto Uzumaki stood in front of the full-length mirror in his quarters, struggling with a silk bowtie that seemed determined to defy the laws of physics.
"You're overthinking the knot, Naruto. It's a tie, not a sealing formula."
Naruto caught Emma Frost’s reflection in the mirror. The White Queen was draped across his chaise lounge, sipping a chilled mimosa. She was already dressed for the Founders' Day Gala in a gown of shimmering silver that looked like it had been spun from moonlight and arrogance.
"In my world, a misaligned knot means your pants fall off mid-battle," Naruto joked, finally getting the bow to sit straight. He turned to her, his blue eyes raking over her form. "You're staying for the gala, then? I thought the 'audit' was over."
Emma set her glass down, her telepathic presence brushing against his mind like a silk scarf. "The audit of the school is complete. The audit of the Headmaster is a long-term project. Besides, I enjoy watching local politicians try to lie to a telepath. It’s like watching toddlers play hide-and-seek behind a glass door."
Naruto chuckled, grabbing his suit jacket. "Just try not to melt anyone’s brain before the night ends. I’m trying to keep a low profile."
"A low profile?" Emma stood up, walking toward him with a predator’s grace. She adjusted his lapels, her fingers lingering on the fabric. "You’re a six-foot-tall sun god running a school for monsters. You don’t do 'low profile,' Naruto. You do 'center of the universe.'"
She leaned in, kissing him softly, a lingering taste of mint and power, before stepping back. "I'll see you at the town square. I believe your 'star students' are waiting for you in the foyer. They’ve been pacing for twenty minutes. The jealousy is quite loud today."
Emma wasn’t exaggerating.
When Naruto reached the grand foyer, he was met by a wall of high-fashion tension. Hope Mikaelson was leaning against the banister in a deep burgundy dress that highlighted the lethal elegance of her Tribrid nature. Beside her, Lizzie Saltzman was a vision in pale blue, her blonde hair styled in intricate waves that screamed 'Gemini Royalty.' Josie stood a step behind, looking demure but radiant in a soft lavender gown.
The moment Naruto appeared, three pairs of eyes locked onto him.
"You're late," Hope said, her voice carrying that trademark Mikaelson edge. She walked forward, her heels clicking authoritatively. "And you smell like expensive perfume and wine."
Lizzie narrowed her eyes, sniffing the air dramatically. "Frost. I knew it. She’s been in your office all afternoon 'filing reports,' hasn't she?"
Naruto held up his hands in a defensive gesture, a crooked grin on his face. "The school board requires constant updates, Lizzie. It’s a thankless job."
"I can think of a few ways you’ve been thanked," Lizzie muttered, though she couldn't hide the flush in her cheeks as Naruto stepped close to her.
He reached out, taking Lizzie’s hand and kissing the back of it, before doing the same for Hope and Josie. "You all look incredible. Truly. This town isn't ready for the Salvatore School tonight."
"We’re not going for 'ready,'" Hope whispered, stepping into his personal space and adjusting his tie, unaware that Emma had just done the same ten minutes prior. "We’re going to show who is on top."
Mystic Falls - Town Square
The Founders' Day Gala was held in the historic town square, under a canopy of fairy lights and the watchful eyes of the founding families' statues. For the humans, it was a celebration of heritage. For the supernaturals, it was a delicate dance of concealment, although most of Mystic Falls knows that supernaturals exist by now.
Naruto moved through the crowd with the ease of a natural leader. He shook hands with the Mayor, discussed "charitable grants" with the local elite, and managed to keep his students from accidentally siphoning the town’s electrical grid out of boredom.
However, the peace was fragile.
While Naruto was stuck in a conversation about historical zoning, he felt a sharp spike of distress. It wasn't physical pain; it was a psychic ripple. He looked across the square and saw Lizzie standing near the punch bowl, her face pale, her hands trembling.
She was being cornered by a group of local "mean girls", daughters of the Town Council who remembered Lizzie’s pre-Naruto "episodes" and took great pleasure in prodding the "crazy Saltzman twin."
Naruto didn't hesitate. He excused himself mid-sentence and moved through the crowd. He didn't use speed; he used presence. People simply parted for him, sensing the sudden shift in the air.
"I heard your dad had to hire a bodyguard just to keep you from burning the gym down again," one of the girls sneered, her voice dripping with fake sympathy. "Is that what Mr. Uzumaki is? A glorified babysitter for the mentally unstable?"
Lizzie’s eyes were starting to glow, the air around her beginning to hum with static. She was siphoning the nearby string lights, the bulbs flickering ominously.
"Actually," a deep, calm voice interrupted.
Naruto stepped behind Lizzie, his hand settling firmly on her shoulder. The static vanished instantly as his chakra surged into her, grounding her power and soothing her mind.
"I'm the Headmaster," Naruto said, his gaze dropping onto the group of girls with the weight of a physical blow. They withered under his stare, their smirks vanishing. "And Lizzie isn't 'unstable.' She's the most powerful witch in this county. I’d suggest you find a different topic of conversation before you find out exactly how much power she’s been holding back."
The girls quickly backed away in silence, and Naruto was always astonished by how ordinary people, lacking any special abilities, would provoke a supernatural entity without recognizing the grave mistake they were making. It was akin to poking a slumbering bear with a stick.
Lizzie let out a long, shaky breath, leaning back into Naruto’s chest. "I almost lost it. I almost blew the lights."
"But you didn't," Naruto whispered into her hair. "You did great, Lizzie. You're in control."
"I don't feel in control," she confessed, her voice cracking. "I see you with Emma, and I see you with Hope... and I feel like I'm just the 'broken' one again. The one who needs a leash."
Naruto turned her around, his hands cupping her face. The gala continued around them, the music, the laughter, but for Lizzie, the world was only Naruto.
"You aren't a project, Elizabeth. You're a queen in the making. And queens don't worry about the help," he said, a playful spark in his eye. "How about we skip the rest of this party? I think the Headmaster needs to give you a private lesson on self-worth."
Lizzie’s breath hitched. "Here? In the town square?"
Naruto glanced at the historic clock tower. "The bell tower is empty. And the view is spectacular."
Mystic Falls - Clock Tower
The interior of the clock tower was dusty and smelled of grease, but Naruto’s chakra created a shimmering barrier that kept the grime at bay. Through the wooden slats, the lights of the gala twinkled below, a world away.
Lizzie was breathless, her back against the massive wooden beam that supported the clock face. Naruto stood before her, his tuxedo jacket discarded, his shirt unbuttoned at the collar.
"You think I'm a queen?" Lizzie asked, her voice a mix of disbelief and desperate need.
"I know you are," Naruto replied. He stepped in, his hands sliding up her silk-clad thighs, hiking the blue dress up to her waist. "But every queen needs to know when to surrender to the right person."
Lemon Scene Ahead
He captured her lips in a kiss that was pure fire. Lizzie moaned into his mouth, her hands gripping his shoulders, her nails digging into the fabric of his shirt. She wasn't just kissing him; she was siphoning him. She drank in his energy, her magic singing as it filled the empty, jagged spaces in her soul.
Naruto didn't waste time. He moved his hands to her back, finding the zipper of her gown. With a smooth, practiced motion, the silk fell to her waist, revealing her pale skin and the delicate white lace of her corset.
"You're so beautiful, Lizzie," Naruto murmured, his mouth moving down to her throat, biting gently on the sensitive cord of her neck.
Lizzie’s head fell back against the wood, her eyes fluttering shut. "Naruto... please. I've been wanting this all night. Watching you talk to those people... I wanted to scream so you would pay attention to me."
"Then scream now," he growled.
He lowered her to the soft rug he had manifested using a quick burst of Creation of All Things, a minor miracle for a major moment. He knelt between her legs, his eyes locked on hers. He didn't rush. He wanted her to feel every second of it.
He stripped away her remaining barriers, his hands roaming over her curves with a possessive heat. When he finally freed himself, the sight of him made Lizzie’s breath catch. He was massive, a testament to the vitality that fueled him.
"Look at me, Lizzie," Naruto commanded.
She met his gaze, her blue eyes swirling with lust and magic.
He entered her in a single, masterful thrust.
Lizzie’s back arched, a high, sharp cry escaping her lips, lost to the night wind whistling through the tower. He filled her completely, the friction and the heat causing her magic to flare out in pulses of pale blue light.
Naruto set a pace that was both carnal and rhythmic. He wasn't just making love to her; he was stabilizing her. With every thrust, he pushed his chakra into her, anchoring her to the present.
"I've got you," he panted, his sweat dripping onto her chest. "Focus on me. Only me."
"Only you!" Lizzie cried out, her legs wrapping around his waist, pulling him deeper. "I'm not broken... I'm yours!"
The pleasure was overwhelming. Lizzie felt like she was flying over the town, the stars within reach. She felt her climax building, a tidal wave of psychic and physical energy that she no longer feared.
Naruto sensed it, too. He increased the speed, his hips slamming against hers with a wet, heavy smack. He reached down, his thumb find her center, sending her over the edge.
Lizzie screamed, her body convulsing as her magic exploded. The clock tower’s hands spun wildly for a split second, and every light in the town square below flickered into a brilliant, blinding white before returning to normal.
Naruto roared, his own release hitting him like a physical blow. He buried his face in her neck, pouring his seed and his chakra into her, claiming his queen.
Lemon Scene End
Half an hour later, they were back in the square, their clothes perfectly restored by Naruto’s magic. Lizzie walked with a new grace, her head held high, a small, knowing smile on her lips.
Hope Mikaelson was waiting for them near the car, her arms crossed over her chest. She looked at Lizzie, then at Naruto, her eyes narrowing as she sensed the lingering "glow" of their union.
"You missed the Mayor’s speech," Hope said, her voice flat.
"I had a crisis of confidence," Lizzie replied smoothly, her voice lacking its usual tremor. "The Headmaster helped me find my center."
Hope looked at Naruto, a flash of something like envy, but also respect, flickering in her eyes. She knew what he was doing. He was building a foundation, one girl at a time.
Honestly, she felt completely at ease being part of a pack, especially since Naruto had proven to be her equal (though she wouldn't acknowledge that he was stronger). Additionally, her inherent werewolf instincts only added to her comfort in the situation.
"The Mayor wants to see you for a final photo, Naruto," Hope said, stepping closer and taking his arm. She looked at Lizzie. "You can have the front seat on the way back, Saltzman. You look like you need the legroom."
Lizzie smirked. "Thank you, Hope. That’s very... generous of you."
Naruto watched them, a feeling of deep satisfaction settling in his chest. The twins were stable. Hope was engaged. Emma was on the board.
The Salvatore School wasn't just surviving; it was becoming a superpower.
But as he looked up at the moon, he felt a cold shiver. Far to the west, something was waking up. Something that the Malivore had been trying to keep locked away.
"Headmaster?" Josie asked, stepping up to his other side. "Is something wrong?"
Naruto shook his head, a determined look on his face. "Nothing we can't handle, Josie. Let's go home."
