Chapter 2: The Great Escape (Part 2 of 2)
California
The move to California had been Missy’s idea, but Paige had provided the logical justification. "If we’re going to be 'magical geniuses,'" Paige had argued while lounging in the back of the Mustang, "we might as well be near a hub of actual scientific inquiry. Besides, the shopping in Beverly Hills is statistically superior."
Harry didn't mind. With the Potter and Black fortunes combined, he wasn't just wealthy; he was "buy-the-city" rich. He had bypassed the grimy apartment buildings of Los Angeles and settled on a high-end, renovated complex in Pasadena. He liked the quiet energy of the place, and the fact that the penthouse had enough reinforced warding to withstand a dragon’s fire.
They were unloading the last of their enchanted luggage when a door down the hall swung open.
A blonde woman, radiating a chaotic but magnetic energy, stepped out. She was wearing a Cheesecake Factory uniform that looked two sizes too small and carried the weary expression of someone who had spent the last four hours dealing with Karens and low tips.
She froze, looking at the handsome British man and the two stunning, fashion-forward girls accompanying him.
"Oh, thank god," the blonde breathed, her voice a husky Nebraska drawl. "Please tell me you’re not another group of physicists. My neighbor already talks enough for three lifetimes."
Harry offered a charming, lopsided grin, the one that used to make the witches in the Daily Prophet swoon. "Harry Potter. And no, I’m fairly certain I’ve never solved a physics equation in my life."
"Penny," she replied, her eyes lingering on Harry’s shoulders a second longer than was strictly polite. She looked at Missy and Paige. "Sisters?"
"Partners," Missy said with a wink, sliding her arm through Harry’s and leaning her head on his shoulder. Paige did the same on the other side, her gaze cool and territorial.
Penny blinked, a flush rising to her cheeks. "Oh. Oh. Well. Welcome to the building. If you need to borrow a cup of sugar... or a shot of tequila... I’m in 4B."
As Penny turned to walk away, Harry’s Black family ring hummed against his finger. It wasn't a warning of danger; it was a resonance.
"Wait, Penny," Harry called out.
She turned, her hand on her hip. "Yeah?"
"You've been having a run of 'good luck' lately, haven't you? Finding money on the street, getting the last table at a crowded bar, people just... doing what you want if you smile the right way?"
Penny’s expression shifted from curious to guarded. "How did you know that? Are you a stalker? Because I have a very loud neighbor who knows a lot of very confusing words he will use to bore you to death."
"I'm not a stalker," Harry said, stepping closer. He lowered his voice, the air around him thickening with power. "I'm just someone who knows that when things go your way that often, it’s not just luck. It’s magic."
Penny laughed, a dry, cynical sound. "Magic? Honey, if I had magic, I’d be starring in a Spielberg movie, not serving overpriced pasta to nerds."
"Maybe you just don't know how to aim it yet," Missy added, a predatory smirk on her lips. She liked Penny already, she saw the same fire in her that she had felt back in Texas.
Harry reached out, his hand hovering just inches from Penny’s arm. "May I?"
Penny hesitated, then nodded. When Harry’s skin brushed hers, a literal spark jumped between them. It wasn't static electricity; it was a golden ripple of empathic power that made Penny’s hair stand on end and her breath catch in her throat.
"What was that?" she whispered, her eyes wide.
"That," Harry said, "is your first lesson. Why don't you come inside, Penny? I think we have a lot to talk about, and my vault has enough gold to make sure you never have to wear that yellow uniform again."
Fast Forward
The next two weeks were a blur of revelation. Penny, it turned out, was a "Natural", a rare type of witch whose magic was tied entirely to her emotions and physical presence. She didn't need a wand; she needed confidence.
Harry spent the afternoons training the three of them in the penthouse’s sprawling living room. Missy and Paige were already becoming proficient in elemental charms and mental shields, but Penny was different. When she got frustrated, the temperature in the room rose. When she was happy, the flowers in the vases bloomed instantly.
But more than the magic, it was the tension that was becoming unbearable.
Penny had integrated into their group with surprising ease. She provided the street-smarts and social grace that the genius Paige lacked, and she matched Missy’s sass beat for beat. And all three of them were hopelessly, magically drawn to Harry.
"It’s the resonance," Paige noted one evening, looking up from an ancient grimoire Harry had 'liberated' from the Black library. "Harry is the source. We’re the conduits. The more we use our magic near him, the more our bodies want to... synchronize."
"That’s a very nerdy way of saying we all want to jump him, Paige," Missy said, lounging on the silk sofa in a pair of short-shorts.
Penny, sitting on the floor with a glass of wine, looked at Harry, who was standing by the window, his silhouette dark against the Pasadena sunset. "She's not wrong. I feel like I’m vibrating every time he walks into the room. Is this part of the 'training'?"
Harry turned, his green eyes glowing with a faint, otherworldly light. "Magic is life force, Penny. And the most potent way to share life force is through intimacy. If you’re ready to stop 'vibrating' and start channeling... I think it’s time we finished the initiation."
Penny set her wine glass down, her heart hammering against her ribs. "I've never been one to walk away from a challenge."
California - Penthouse
The air in the penthouse didn't just feel warm; it felt charged. To Penny, it felt like the moments before a massive thunderstorm in Nebraska, that heavy, electric stillness where you can feel the hair on your arms standing up. But instead of ozone, the air tasted of Harry’s expensive bourbon, Missy’s vanilla perfume, and a faint, metallic tang that she was beginning to realize was raw magic.
Harry stood in the center of the room, the master of his domain. He didn't need to move; the girls were already orbiting him.
"Penny," Harry whispered, his voice vibrating in her very marrow. "You’ve spent your life feeling like an outsider because you were 'too much' for the people around you. Too loud, too pretty, too intuitive. Here, 'too much' is just the beginning."
He reached out, taking her hand. On his other side, Missy stepped in, her hands sliding under Harry’s shirt to feel the hard planes of his stomach. Paige moved behind him, pressing her chest against his back, her arms wrapping around his waist.
The circle was closed.
A pulse of light, violet and gold, rippled outward from where their skin met. Penny gasped, her knees buckling as a wave of pure, unadulterated pleasure crashed over her. It wasn't just physical; it was as if her mind was being flooded with the thoughts and sensations of the other three. She felt Missy’s burning confidence, Paige’s razor-sharp focus, and at the center of it all, Harry’s boundless, power.
"Oh my god," Penny breathed, her head falling back. "I feel... everything."
"That's the resonance," Paige murmured against Harry’s shoulder, her eyes half-closed. "We’re no longer four individuals. We’re a circuit. And Harry is the battery."
Lemon Scene Ahead
Harry led them toward the massive, circular bed that dominated the master suite. The covers were silk, black as a starless night, and as they tumbled onto them, the contrast of their skin was a masterpiece of light and shadow.
Harry stripped with a fluid grace that spoke of a man completely comfortable with his power. As he stood before them, hard and ready, Penny couldn't help but stare. She had dated "jocks" and "bad boys" back in Omaha, but Harry Potter was something else entirely, a predator wrapped in a gentleman’s skin.
"First time for the Nebraska girl?" Missy teased, already working on the buttons of Penny’s blouse. "Don't worry, honey. We’re very good teachers."
Missy didn't wait for an answer. She leaned down, her mouth finding Penny’s in a bruising, hungry kiss. At the same time, Paige’s hands were everywhere, exploring Penny’s curves, tracing the lines of her body with a clinical intensity that quickly turned into desperate want.
Harry watched them for a moment, his green eyes burning with a dark fire. Then, he moved.
He settled between Penny and Missy, his hands moving to cup their faces. He kissed them both in turn, his tongue deep and demanding, before sliding down their bodies. Penny cried out as Harry’s mouth found her heat. It was a sensation unlike any she’d ever known, his tongue was magically dexterous, swirling and flicking with a rhythm that seemed to be synced to her very heartbeat.
"Harry...!" Penny arched her back, her fingers tangling in his dark hair, pulling him closer.
Beside her, Missy was being thoroughly attended to by Paige. The two "Sheldon-adjacent" geniuses were lost in a tangle of limbs, Paige’s intellectual reserve completely shattered as she tasted Missy’s skin. The magic in the room was peaking now; the lightbulbs in the lamps exploded one by one, leaving the room illuminated only by the golden glow emanating from their joined bodies.
Harry rose, his gaze locking onto Penny’s. He moved over her, his weight a welcome pressure. "Are you ready to be part of something greater, Penny?"
"Yes," she whimpered, her legs wrapping around his waist, pulling him toward her. "Please, Harry. Now."
He entered her in one powerful, deliberate thrust.
Penny’s world didn't just explode; it rearranged itself. As he filled her, she felt a surge of golden light travel up her spine and burst behind her eyes. She wasn't just feeling Harry; she was feeling Missy’s climax as Paige’s fingers found her mark, and she was feeling Paige’s vicarious thrill through their shared bond.
"It’s... it’s too much!" Penny sobbed, though she was clenching her muscles around him, begging for more.
"Take it, Penny," Harry commanded, his voice a low growl. He began to move, his pace increasing from a steady grind to a frantic, powerful rhythm. "Channel it. Make it yours."
Missy crawled up beside them, her breasts pressing against Harry’s side as she kissed Penny’s neck. Paige joined them on the other side, her hands guided by Harry’s as they all moved in a chaotic, beautiful symphony.
The room began to shake. The heavy oak wardrobe rattled against the wall, and the glass of the balcony doors groaned under the pressure of the magical discharge.
Harry reached back, grabbing Missy and Paige, pulling them into the center of the storm. He was the anchor, the point around which the three women revolved. He shifted, finding a way to touch all of them, to share himself with all of them at once.
The physical pleasure was staggering, but the magical connection was what broke them. As Harry felt his own release building, a tidal wave of Potter and Black magic that had been suppressed for too long, he pushed it all into them.
"Now!" Harry roared.
The climax hit like a supernova.
A shockwave of pure, white-hot energy erupted from the bed, blowing the balcony doors off their hinges and sending a literal ripple through the apartment building. Downstairs, Leonard’s "Star Trek" collectibles fell off their shelves, and Sheldon’s whiteboard equations were wiped clean by a phantom wind.
On the bed, the four of them were a pile of tangled limbs and gasping breaths. The golden light slowly faded, leaving only the smell of sex and the sound of four hearts beating in perfect unison.
Penny lay with her head on Harry’s chest, her body still trembling. She looked at her hand, where a faint, shimmering mark, a stylized lightning bolt entwined with a rose, was fading into her skin.
"I think," Penny whispered, her voice hoarse, "I’m definitely quitting the Cheesecake Factory tomorrow."
Missy let out a sleepy, satisfied laugh. "Told you, honey. Magic is way better than tips."
Paige, ever the analyst, was tracing the magical lines on Harry’s arm. "The data suggests... that was the most significant energetic event in recorded history. Also," she added, kissing Harry’s jaw, "I can’t feel my legs. Excellent work, Harry."
Lemon Scene End
Fast Forward
The months that followed were a blur of indulgence. Harry bought out the entire top floor, creating a sanctuary where the four of them could live and practice without prying eyes. Penny flourished under Harry’s tutelage, her natural charm becoming a potent tool of persuasion and protection.
But there was a side effect to Harry’s magic that none of them had anticipated.
In the kitchen of the penthouse, six months later, Missy was leaning over the counter, trying to reach a jar of pickles. Her silk robe was open, revealing a stomach that was no longer flat and toned, but beautifully, roundly distended.
"I'm telling you, Harry," Missy grumbled, though she had a radiant glow that no amount of morning sickness could dim. "This kid is definitely yours. He’s already tried to 'Accio' my breakfast twice this morning."
Paige sat at the table, her own pregnancy slightly less advanced but still unmistakable. She was reading a book on magical pediatrics. "Technically, Missy, it’s a statistical certainty. The magical saturation of our... 'sessions'... was bound to have a biological consequence. Harry is exceptionally fertile."
Penny walked in, glowing with a health that made her look like a goddess. She patted her own slightly rounded belly. "Well, at least we’re in it together. Though I don't know how we're going to explain this to the neighbors."
"We don't have to," Harry said, walking into the room and kissing each of them in turn. "We're moving to the estate in Malibu next week. More privacy."
Just then, the doorbell rang. Not the magical chime Harry had set up, but the frantic, rhythmic tapping of someone who had a very specific way of knocking.
Knock-knock-knock. "Missy?"
Knock-knock-knock. "Missy?"
Knock-knock-knock. "Missy?"
The room went silent.
"Oh, crap," Missy whispered, her eyes widening. "It’s Sheldon."
The sound was unmistakable. It was a rhythmic, three-beat staccato that seemed to vibrate with the neurotic energy of a man who viewed the universe as a series of equations that were currently being solved incorrectly.
Knock-knock-knock. "Missy?"
Knock-knock-knock. "Missy?"
Knock-knock-knock. "Missy?"
Missy froze, a half-eaten pickle suspended in mid-air. Her eyes darted to her protruding stomach, then to Paige’s, then to Penny’s. "Oh, no. No, no, no. He’s supposed to be at a symposium on string theory in Switzerland. He’s supposed to be anywhere but here."
Missy was aware that, by some twist of fate, Sheldon resided in the same building as her, a fact she discovered from Penny. However, she made a conscious effort to steer clear of him. So, how did he realize she was around?
"Statistics suggest that Sheldon’s unpredictability is the only predictable thing about him," Paige noted, though she looked uncharacteristically nervous. She smoothed her silk maternity top over her bump. "He’s going to have a catastrophic system failure."
Harry, however, looked completely unbothered. He leaned back against the kitchen island, a smirk playing on his lips. "Let him in, Penny. It’s high time we met the 'Boy Wonder' of the family."
Penny, ever the braver soul, walked to the door. She checked her reflection in the hallway mirror, glowing, radiant, and just starting to show, and swung the door open.
There stood Sheldon Cooper, wearing a Flash t-shirt over a long-sleeved polo, carrying a briefcase and an expression of profound disapproval. He didn't even look at Penny at first.
"I am looking for my sister, Melissa," Sheldon began, his voice a high-pitched drone of authority. "She has failed to answer her telephone, and my mother is convinced she has been abducted by a cult or, worse, a group of traveling musicians. I have tracked her GPS..."
He stopped. His eyes finally focused on Penny. "You are the waitress from the Cheesecake Factory. Why are you in this high-end residential unit? And why are you... glowing? Is it a rare dermatological condition or have you been exposed to a concentrated source of bioluminescent plankton?"
"Nice to see you too, Sheldon," Penny sighed, stepping aside. "Come on in. The 'cult' is in the kitchen."
Sheldon stepped into the penthouse, his eyes darting around the room, cataloging the expensive art, the magically self-cleaning windows, and the sheer, unadulterated luxury. But when he turned the corner into the kitchen, his brain hit a metaphorical brick wall.
There was Missy, his twin sister, looking healthier and more beautiful than he had ever seen her, and very, very pregnant.
Beside her sat Paige Swanson, his lifelong intellectual rival, the girl who had consistently made him feel "locally average." She was also glowing, also radiant, and also unmistakably carrying a child.
And standing between them was Harry Potter, a man who radiated a quiet, dangerous confidence that Sheldon couldn't categorize.
Sheldon’s briefcase slipped from his hand, hitting the hardwood floor with a dull thud.
"Melissa," Sheldon squeaked, his voice jumping an entire octave. "You... you are... in a state of advanced biological gestation."
"Hey, Shelly," Missy said, taking a defiant bite of her pickle. "Took you long enough to find us."
Sheldon’s eyes flicked to Paige. "And you! Paige Swanson! You were meant to be the next Great Mind of our generation! You were supposed to be solving the mysteries of the cosmos, not... not participating in the messy, illogical process of human reproduction!"
"I am solving mysteries, Sheldon," Paige said coolly, patting her belly. "Just... different ones. Ones involving ancient bloodlines and energetic resonance. Things your 'string theory' couldn't even begin to touch."
"And who," Sheldon said, finally turning his gaze to Harry, "is this? Is this the... the progenitor? The alpha male responsible for this statistical impossibility?"
"Harry Potter," Harry said, stepping forward and offering a hand. Sheldon stared at the hand as if it were a Petri dish of Ebola. "I’m the man who took them away from the boxes you all tried to put them in."
Sheldon began to hyperventilate. He started pacing the kitchen, his hands fluttering at his sides. "This is impossible. The probability of Paige and my sister all becoming... 'enciente' by the same individual within the same six-month window is... is..."
"One hundred percent, when magic is involved," Harry added helpfully.
"Magic!" Sheldon shrieked. "There is no such thing as magic! There is only physics we do not yet understand! You are likely a billionaire with a penchant for high-end reproductive technologies and a very specific 'type'!"
"Sheldon, look," Missy said, standing up. As she moved, the air around her rippled. She pointed a finger at a glass of water on the counter. With a sharp flick of her wrist, the water rose out of the glass, shaped itself into a miniature version of the Flash, and began running in circles in mid-air.
Sheldon stopped. His eyes went wide. His mouth opened, but no sound came out. He watched the water-hero run, the physics of surface tension being violated right in front of his nose.
"The water... it’s... it's defying gravity without a localized vacuum or magnetic levitation..." Sheldon whispered.
He looked at Missy. Then he looked at Paige, who waved a hand and made her book hover in front of her face. Then he looked at Penny, who smiled and made a small ball of golden light dance between her palms.
Finally, he looked back at Harry. Harry’s eyes flashed a brilliant, emerald green, and the entire penthouse seemed to hum with a deep, resonant power that Sheldon felt in his very bones.
"My sister is a witch," Sheldon whispered. "My rival is a witch. My neighbor is a witch. And they are all... having... 'coitus'... with a wizard."
The logic circuits in Sheldon Cooper’s brain, built on a foundation of rigid Newtonian physics and social awkwardness, finally gave out.
His eyes rolled back in his head. His knees buckled.
THUD.
Sheldon hit the floor in a perfect, rigid faint.
The silence that followed was broken only by the sound of Missy laughing.
"I've been waiting for that for twenty years," she gasped, leaning on the counter for support. "He actually fainted! Penny, did you get that on your phone?"
"Recorded in HD," Penny said, grinning as she tucked her phone away. "That’s going to be my screensaver for the rest of my life."
Harry walked over and looked down at the unconscious physicist. He gave the air a small flick, and a blanket drifted down from the sofa to cover Sheldon. "He'll be fine. Though he’s going to have a lot of questions when he wakes up."
"Let him ask," Paige said, leaning her head on Harry’s shoulder. "By then, we'll be in Malibu. He can try to calculate the physics of a moving island if he wants to."
Harry pulled them all into a group embrace, his coven, his family, his future. The war in Britain was a distant memory. The weight of being the Savior was gone. Here, in the sun-drenched chaos of California, he wasn't a hero.
He was a King.
"To Malibu?" Harry asked.
"To Malibu," they all replied in unison.
