Chapter 1: The Alchemist of God

Marvel Cinematic Universe

The world, Naruto had come to realize, was a lie built upon a foundation of shimmering bullshit.

In the dark, the absolute, soul-crushing dark of the HYDRA sensory deprivation tank, the macro-world had ceased to exist. There were no walls, no floors, no guards, and no "Project Aether." There was only the hum. It was a low-frequency vibration that lived in the marrow of his bones, the sound of trillions of atoms dancing in a frantic, eternal masquerade.

He had been in this tank for three hundred and forty-two days. Or perhaps it was a thousand years. Time, much like matter, was simply a variable that Naruto had learned to solve.

“Subject 0-Naruto. Neural activity is spiking again,” a voice echoed, thin and tinny through the conductive fluid filling his lungs. It was Dr. List. To Naruto, the man wasn’t a scientist; he was a collection of carbon, calcium, and bile, vibrating with a self-important frequency that tasted like stagnant water.

“The Aether is stabilizing within the host’s cellular structure,” another voice added—Strucker. “Increase the sedative. If he wakes before the siphoning is complete, the molecular instability will vaporize this entire wing.”

Naruto felt the needle, a hollow tube of stainless steel, pierce the port in his neck. He watched, not with his eyes, but with a refined consciousness that saw the world in high-definition geometry. He saw the chemical compound of the sedative as it entered his bloodstream. It was a complex, jagged molecule designed to latch onto his neurotransmitters and dampen the fire in his brain.

He didn't fight it. He smiled, a silent gesture in the dark fluid.

Nitrogen. Hydrogen. Carbon.

With a mental whisper, he reached out to the sedative. He didn't use chakra; the blue energy of his youth had been burned away by the Aether long ago, replaced by something far more primordial. He touched the bonds of the chemical. He nudged a proton here, stripped an electron there.

Within a millisecond, the deadly sedative was nothing more than a harmless, refreshing saline solution. His body absorbed it like a summer rain.

"I'm awake, Doctor," Naruto whispered. The fluid in his lungs didn't drown him; he simply commanded the oxygen atoms within the liquid to separate and enter his bloodstream directly.

The lab went silent. The heart rate monitors began a frantic, rhythmic screaming.

"He's speaking! How is he speaking through the....."

"Drain the tank! Now!"

The fluid began to recede, gravity reclaiming its hold on his body. Naruto felt his feet touch the cold, vibranium-slick floor of the cylinder. As the last of the liquid swirled down the drain, the glass hissed open.

Naruto stepped out. He was thin, his ribs showing through skin that was pale as moonlight, but his eyes were the problem. They weren't blue. They were a shifting, kaleidoscopic sapphire, swirling with an iridescent light that seemed to pull at the very air around him.

"You've spent a year trying to turn me into a battery," Naruto said, his voice raspy but carrying a weight that made the reinforced glass of the surrounding labs hairline-fracture. "But you forgot to ask the battery if it wanted to be charged."

The security teams moved in. They were professionals, HYDRA’s best. They carried pulse rifles that utilized repurposed Tesseract technology. Blue light began to glow at the muzzles.

"Don't," Naruto warned.

They fired.

Naruto didn't dodge. He didn't move. He simply raised a hand, fingers spread wide. The world slowed to a crawl. He saw the blue energy bolts, concentrated plasma, streaking toward his chest. He reached out and caught the lead bolt in the palm of his hand.

He didn't absorb the energy. He reconfigured it.

The plasma bolt turned into a flurry of white snow, drifting harmlessly to the floor.

The guards froze. One of them, a man whose heart was beating at a frantic 140 BPM, tried to reload. Naruto looked at him.

"Your gun is made of a steel-chrome alloy," Naruto observed. "It’s very sturdy. But did you know that the difference between steel and oxygen is just a matter of arrangement?"

With a flick of his wrist, the guard's rifle didn't explode; it simply evaporated. The man was left holding a handful of air as a sudden, localized gust of wind blew through the room.

"My turn," Naruto said.

He took a step forward, and the floor beneath his feet didn't just support him—it rose to meet him. He walked toward the main blast door, a three-foot slab of reinforced vibranium-steel. The guards opened fire again, a desperate wall of lead and energy.

Naruto walked through it like a man walking through a light drizzle. Each bullet that came within an inch of him turned into a flower petal. By the time he reached the door, the floor was covered in a carpet of crushed roses and lilies.

He placed a palm against the door.

"You think walls keep people in," Naruto mused, looking at Dr. List through the observation window. "But walls are just ideas. And I have a better idea."

The heavy metal door turned into water.

Tons of liquid steel crashed to the floor, splashing against Naruto’s shins. He stepped over the puddle and into the command center. Dr. List was scrambling for a self-destruct trigger, his fingers trembling.

Naruto was there in a blur, not of speed, but of space. He had simply decided he was there instead of here. He caught the doctor’s wrist.

"The world is going to change, Doctor," Naruto said softly, his iridescent eyes locked onto the man’s terrified pupils. "And I think I’ll start by making sure you can never build another cage."

He didn't kill the man. He simply touched List's forehead.

The doctor’s memories, the complex neural pathways that held the secrets of Project Aether, were rearranged. The science was gone, replaced by the lyrics to every nursery rhyme ever written in the history of the world. List collapsed, babbling about Twinkle Twinkle Little Star with the intensity of a madman.

Naruto turned to the window, looking out at the snowy Sokovian mountains.

"Now," he whispered. "Let's see what else needs fixing."

Sokovia - Wilderness

The trek through the Sokovian wilderness was a meditation in white and grey.

Naruto didn't need clothes. As he walked through the sub-zero temperatures, he simply manipulated the air molecules around his skin to create a localized thermal pocket. To a thermal camera, he would have looked like a sun walking through a blizzard.

He passed through a village three hours away from the facility. It was a place the world had forgotten, a collection of stone huts and starving people caught in the crossfire of a war they didn't understand.

A group of local scavengers, men driven to cruelty by hunger, were harassing an old woman near a frozen well. They had rusted AK-47s and eyes full of a desperate, hollow greed.

Naruto stopped. He watched as one of the men raised a boot to kick the woman’s bucket away.

"The iron content in that well is too high," Naruto’s voice carried over the wind, clear as a bell. "That’s why the water tastes like blood."

The scavengers spun around, weapons raised. "Who the hell are you?"

"Just a traveler," Naruto said, walking into the center of the village.

"Give us your coat, traveler," the leader sneered, ignoring the fact that Naruto was wearing nothing but a tattered hospital scrub. The man’s brain couldn't process the impossibility of Naruto’s presence in the cold.

Naruto looked at the frozen well. He ignored the men. He knelt by the stone rim and touched the ice.

The ice didn't melt; it transformed. The impurities, the lead, the arsenic, the rust, were pulled to the surface, forming a solid black sphere of waste that Naruto tossed aside. The remaining water was purified to a level that shouldn't exist in nature. Then, he touched the stone.

The grey, crumbling rock shifted and groaned. It grew, pillars rising and arching, turning the simple well into a beautiful, marble fountain that radiated a gentle warmth.

"What are you doing?" the leader screamed, his nerves finally snapping. He pulled the trigger.

The bullet left the barrel, but halfway to Naruto, it stopped. It didn't fall. It simply hung in the air.

Naruto reached out and plucked the bullet from the sky.

"Lead is such a dull metal," Naruto mused. He rolled the bullet between his thumb and forefinger. When he opened his hand, a perfect, 24-karat gold coin sat in his palm.

He dropped it at the old woman's feet.

"Feed your people," he said.

He turned to the scavengers. Their guns were suddenly very heavy. They looked down to see their weapons had been turned into solid blocks of granite.

"Leave," Naruto said. It wasn't a request. The air pressure in the village suddenly tripled, the weight of the atmosphere pressing down on the scavengers until their knees buckled.

They fled into the woods, screaming about demons.

Naruto didn't stay for the thanks. He could feel the pull, the jagged, crimson scar in the air that marked the center of the fallen city. It was a frequency that called to him, a melody of chaos that matched the rhythm of his own reconstructed soul.

Sokovia - Capital

Sokovia’s capital was a jagged tooth of concrete and rebar rising from a crater of ash.

It was silent here. The Avengers had done their duty, saved the world, and flown away in their silver jets, leaving the carcass of a nation to rot in the sun.

Naruto walked through the "Ground Zero." He saw the remnants of Ultron’s sentries, twisted husks of vibranium and circuitry. He felt the lingering radiation of the Mind Stone, a yellow hum that felt like a distant cousin to his own power.

He found her in the ruins of a church that had no roof.

Wanda Maximoff was sitting on a pile of rubble that might have been an altar. She was wearing a tattered black dress, her hair a matted mess of copper and dust. She looked small. She looked like a girl who had been asked to carry the weight of the world and had dropped it.

Around her, the air was bleeding.

Red wisps of chaos magic snaked through the air, pixelating the reality around her. A brick would turn into a crow, fly three feet, and then turn back into a cloud of ash. Her grief was so thick it was literally warping the laws of physics.

"You're making a mess," Naruto said, his voice echoing in the hollow shell of the church.

Wanda didn't look up. Her fingers twitched, and a nearby stone pillar disintegrated into red mist. "Go away. There's nothing left to steal here."

"I'm not a scavenger," Naruto said, stepping over a fallen cross. He walked into the red haze.

The chaos magic lashed out at him, it was instinctual, a defensive reflex of a wounded animal. The red energy struck Naruto’s chest, trying to rewrite his atoms, to turn his heart into lead or his blood into fire.

Naruto didn't flinch. He met the chaos with his own order.

The red energy hit an invisible barrier an inch from his skin and smoothed out, turning into a soft, golden glow that felt like a warm hearth.

Wanda finally looked up. Her eyes were rimmed with red, her pupils blown wide with exhaustion. "You... you aren't affected."

"It's hard to rewrite something that knows exactly what it is," Naruto said. He stopped a few feet from her. "You’re in a lot of pain, My name is Naruto by the way."

"My brother is dead," she whispered, her voice cracking. "My home is a hole in the ground. I am a monster that helped a machine almost kill the planet. What else is there but the pain?"

Naruto sat down on the rubble next to her. He didn't mind the dust. He reached out his hand, but he didn't touch her. He pointed to a piece of twisted, blackened metal from an Ultron sentry.

"Watch," he said.

The metal began to flow. It didn't melt; it danced. The jagged edges smoothed into curves. The dull grey shimmered into a deep, vibrant crimson. Within seconds, a perfect, metallic rose, indestructible and beautiful, sat between them.

"I can change the world," Naruto said, his voice dropping to a low, intimate frequency. "I can turn the ash back into trees. I can turn the ruins into palaces. But I can't do it alone. I need someone who understands that this world and help me build a new one."

He looked at her, his iridescent eyes meeting her tear-stained ones.

"They call us monsters because they're afraid of what we can do without their permission," he continued. "So let's give them a reason to be afraid. Let's build something that belongs only to us."

Wanda looked at the rose, then back at him. For the first time in weeks, the red mist around her stopped flickering. It stilled, turning into a deep, solid crimson.

"Why me?" she asked.

"Because," Naruto said, reaching out and finally brushing a strand of hair from her face. His touch was warm, hot, even. "You're the only thing in this world that vibrates at the same frequency as I do."

She looked at him intently and started to grasp his meaning. There was a sense of comfort with this man called Naruto, almost as if he were a relative. As she reflected on his words, she felt uncertain but realized there wasn't much more she could lose. "Wanda, that's my name," she said.

"Wanda, that's a lovely name that suits you perfectly," Naruto remarked playfully as he stood up and extended his hand, waiting to see if she would accept it.

"Don't make me wish I hadn't done this, you flirt," Wanda remarked, grasping Naruto's hand as she stood up. A light blush crept onto her cheeks, since aside from her brother, no one had ever called her beautiful before. "So, where do we begin?"

Naruto flashed a broad smile, leaving Wanda curious about the path she had chosen, unaware that her one choice had altered her destiny.

A/N: In this story, Naruto gets transported to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) rather than being reincarnated. He is discovered by Hydra, who immediately begins to experiment on him upon realizing he possesses an unknown energy within. They then utilize the reality stone, which destroys his chakra network and grants him new abilities. I hope you enjoy the chapter, and if you do, please give it a thumbs up. Thanks!
