1792 Days of Summer (1792일의 썸머)

All the episode names are reference to iconic movies and shows. This episode references to the movie 500 days of summer but I think the 1792 days refers to the 5 years they were apart (that's the only thing that made sense according to my calculation lol)

Fifi

Yea lol I think it’s bullshit and selfish for her to want HIM to say I love you and want HIM to be the one to say it first. Cuz what if he’s waiting for the same thing. And also the fact that not everyone is comfortable saying those words. If she feels she loves him then she can say it and if he doesn’t say it back then maybe she gets her answer. And vice versa, if he is the one asking all those damn questions then he should say it to her first and get his answer. It would be different if he wasn’t showing her love at all so she starts to doubt and that’s why she’s asking….but that’s not the case. Anyways I’m loving your reaction, and I’m also watching the show for the first time with you lol

Danis

all the episode titles are basically existing movie titles or at least a nod to them, except for the final episode. 1792 days of summer is a reference to 500 days of summer

they mentioned in ep 1 that they only did the documentary for 1 month in high school ,they cant keep a person in different class for a whole year cause the other students who scored better would definetely not like a person who didnt score well gng ahead of them and being in top class its an adjustment for a month for the documentary so them dating in high school as they showed here was after the docu they got close they were not faking in the docu

Shreya

the convo with the grandma kinda shows you an insight into why yeonsu has this attitude the grandma says "poor people should be tough so others dont look down on you'' i think thats how she was raised to be tough its a self preservation for her i guess , also in ep 1 when ung first met yeonsu on the entrance day of high school they show how the students were talking about her skirt and how the shoes she wore were so tacky their moms wouldnt even wear that but she held her head high and just walked thru it and when ung looked at her smiling she got defensive and said "what are you looking at?" the show gives us these little details into their personalities even with ung you see him sleeping always during the daytime wherever hes at - hinting at how hes maybe not sleeping well at night

Mya

I always thought it was the 5 years they were together

manha

the documentary was only for a month or so and they started dating after it ended.

This might be the best edited/directed kdramas I’ve ever seen, it’s one of the only ones that have those long scenes with the characters looking away thinking or just going about life that I don’t feel like skipping the scenes, every second feels important to figure out the characters and the story, I don’t know, just feels great watching it.

Kate

I know this came first but it's giving me queen of tears vibes; the back and forth of their relationship then and now, peeling the layers back to understand what happened etc

lamia

yeah that makes sense, i don't know why I didn't think of that haha

Traci

There are so many small moments with dialogue and looks that are important to the layering of this story. Really great editing, directing and acting; Da-mi and Woo-Shik master the quiet periods really well that keep the viewer drawn in to watch the narrative unfold. I love how realistic the emotions and vulnerabilities of the lead characters are. The use of the episode titles to other romantic dramas was brilliant; it makes it so relatable seeing the call backs to other works.
