Lots of teasing back and forth between Eugene and Ae-Shin before being brought back to reality due to their country's alignment.

That wasn't Dongmae's mom. He killed and cut ankle of those women who made fun of him & his mom when they were begging for payment for meat. His mom was raped by someone and she killed him, after that she knew she & her family would be punished, that's why she chased away Dongmae by aiming knife at him.

There was a small part that you misunderstood :) Eugene‘s mother didn’t overestimate the price of the ornament, she actually UNDERestimated it. To her 3 mals of rice was beyond significant and enough for her son to survive for some time, yet to a noble woman even a mere accessory was worth more than that. I‘m really enjoying rewatching my favorite show with you and you‘re honestly doing pretty good keeping up with most of the story and characters! I also love that you‘re so interested in the history that you do some research on your own. This is why I enjoy your reactions specifically, you actually have things to say and also take a lot away from the things you watch <3 Also Eugene’s line “American guns treat the nobles and slaves just the same. That is democracy.” always gives me chills 😮‍💨

Btw she was not asking him what is love, she was asking what is the meaning of the word “Love” since it was said in English

I just realized that “taking a lot away” from something could be misunderstood as a negative thing like taking away value. English is my 3rd language so I’m not entirely sure if it’s clear that my comment was meant to be entirely positive 😅

You are right😂 the mum is the coach from 2521 , her husband is Go Yurim’s dad, and young Dongmae is Baek Yijin’s brother, Dongmae’s right hand is the rude producer from UBS channel

Hey guys. Just to help out...the pronunciation of Aesin's name is more like 'air-shin' without rolling the 'r' of course 😉 Hope you guys are enjoying it so far. I know it can feel like a slow build, but it's worth it! You also got to learn a little more about Dongmae, the rōnin, and definitely a crowd favourite character during this show! As for Aesin, I like that this show presents her as someone very capable and strong-willed with an unwavering love for her country, but she is naive when you see how she mistakenly trusts Eugene without confirming his identity and intentions. But then you also have the other contrasts to her character in Eugene, Dongmae and Huiseong. The characters are certainly not black and white in this show...so it takes time to flesh them out. It gives you a chance to really feel what Joseon means to them in positive and negative ways.
