Hey all! Here's the Patreon preview of this month's video! You're seeing it a few days early. Planning on launching it at 10:00 AM Central on the 21st, right before anime club, so that any Youtube folks who want to talk about it can hop into the stream and do so. This video is coming out a little later than expected (and by "a little later," I mean "around a month." I'm planning to start posting weekly progress reports again this Saturday, and that's going to include an announcement about upping the channel's overall production, so look forward to that!

This video features a lot of talk about different "problematic" shows and what it means for a show to be problematic in the first place. How can media cause harm to people, and what can we do to minimize that harm? What should you do if you come across a piece of media that you know to be morally bad, but you find yourself enjoying it anyway? Here are my opinions. And also, here are my scripts! I realize that I forgot to upload them like I usually do. Very sorry about that. I've had a fuck of a month. They're mostly very similar to each-other, with Draft 2 being the only one that severely differs (which is why I gave up on it quickly). Hope you all enjoy!

Watched both this video an your mushoku tensei video and it got me thinking about how mushoku tensei was inspired by zero no tsukaima. the issue you brought up with redeus being an adult in a child's body an creeping made me think about how saito(17) from tsukaima was just a teenager around louise(16) so them dating was normal. Tsukaima also had a plot point were louise was almost put into an arranged marriage with an older man(who's evil)

I'm curious: do you think watching with friends made GOMG a better experience? I don't just mean this in terms of making it more fun (though I do also mean that). Relating to your broader point, I wonder if watching as a group actually does have an influence on perceived morality/acceptability. Is it more uncomfortable to watch in a group because you're tacitly endorsing the show's themes to the rest of the group, and therefore tangentially morally responsible for its content? Or is it actually LESS uncomfortable because soon everyone has agreed to revel in it together, giving everyone involved a pass to just enjoy it relatively uncritically, in all its sheer audacity? (Or specifically FOR its sheer audacity?)
