Progress Report - Week of 2019/06/23 (Patreon)

Hello everyone!  This week was full of celebration, since Sunday was my birthday!  I spent a lot of time hanging out with friends and family, so hopefully you'll forgive me for not working as hard on the new video as I did last week.  That said, a couple of weeks ago, a statement like that would've been followed up with a "TOTAL WORK TIME THIS WEEK: 5 minutes."  Thanks to my new medicine and some good old-fashioned time-management, I still got a lot of behind-the-scenes work done.  Let's take a look.

EXPLANATION POINT

The Elitist Hero: The Individual and the Collective in My Hero Academia:  Tuesday saw the end of note-taking for the new video, and on Friday I spent some time writing up a mock script that'll be available to Backslash+ patrons as soon as it's done, which should be either tomorrow or Monday.  Today, I spent around forty-five minutes filming the new commercial/skit for the video's sponsor.  Really, all that's left is writing, recording, and editing.  I always say that writing the script is the hardest part (since it requires my full attention and it's easy to get distracted and procrastinate), so once that's over it'll be smooth sailing until the video is finished.  Again, there's a hard deadline for this one, so it'll be out on or before July 27th, guaranteed.

Image Editing:  Again, this project isn't fancy, but on days when I know that I'm not going to have a solid block of work time, I spend thirty minutes here and there cleaning up my substantial gallery of images.  This involves making the edges a bit crisper, finding higher-quality versions of pictures I already have, extending character art where it gets cut off (say the top of a character's head was out of frame during the scene I took a certain picture from.  I would draw them a new top-of-the-head so that it doesn't look as jarring when I use the pic in a video), etc.

LIVE STREAM

Yes!  Birthday stream was real fun.  Played some Duck Game and Jackbox 5.  Had a great time.

OTHER

Progress Report:  Time spent writing last week's progress report, as well as this one.

Auditions:  Recorded some audition tapes for My Hero Academia: Abridged by Something Witty Entertainment, and I considered that on-the-clock time.  I wouldn't bet the house on it, but if all goes well, you all will be able to see me in that production. . .eh, eventually.

TOTAL WORK TIME THIS WEEK:  25 hours, 55 minutes, 57 seconds (Very slightly down)

WORK TIME HIGH SCORE:   32 hours, 10 minutes, 54 seconds (Week of 2018/01/28)
