I'm just joining and catching up and this episode was really great for me. I joined cause of Crash Course and am now watching 'Turtles All The Way Down' (available in México, yay! Watching slowly because I have MECFS). As a person with complex chronic illness who just this week happened to think 'I should learn more about OCD', I'm really grateful for this conversation and the work both of you do. I hope things change for the better soon for John (and that he's able to enjoy all the good (and indeed only the good) feedback on the movie. I'll be sharing it with my parents, one of whom has OCD. (Also, my mom and I read 'The Fault in Our Stars' and it was healing for us.) I'm really really hoping the chemo controls Hank's UC! Adicionalmente, gracias to Hank for teaching/reteaching me basic Bio and Chemistry on Youtube as I try to understand ME & POTS & MCAS hypotheses. And OMG, John's importnt Tuberculosis communication. Gracias. Also appreciating the smallpox tangent. (And how Hank always goes into history when discussing science.) Apologies if this is not the place to list my gratitudes! I'm new to the game and have been holding these gratitudes for a while now. Shall continue watching and nodding along.
