I've seen that before - it often happens when the frost comes early. The frost makes all the leaves fall at the same time, whether they are green or yellow/red.

The leaves with their white "underbelly" look like the leaves of the Poplar trees that grew in my old neighborhood in the Chicago suburbs.

Might be white poplar leaves? I'm don't know much about trees, though.
