Dear Hank and John, I want to get into the competative Pokémon (pok-ayyy-mon) scene, but I have to make drastic changes to my team. But in order to get new better Pokémon I need to put hours and hours of non-fun time into it. A few years ago I was in a depression and without work and school so I played games whenever I had the energy to get out of bed, but now I am healthy and going to school fulltime so I have to be careful with how I spend my time. Should I keep following my dream of becoming a Pokémon master or should I focus on school and hopefully become a real master (of science) once? Love your podcast, Christine

Dear John and Hank, Thank you so much for this week's video about the gender pay gap. Not only was it informative in a nuanced way for me as a viewer, but I think it's going to be a powerful tool to help spread awareness that yes, the pay gap is real. When I try to be active in advancing social causes, I often run into this sort of thing—people who claim the pay gap isn't real, or racial discrimination isn't real, that women in America have it UNDENIABLY better than men. And when I disagree, the onus always seems to be on me to prove it. And since I don't carry around a case file for an example of every example of social and income inequality present in America today, I often just kind of leave the conversation alone. Is this wrong? I don't feel like it's right that people expect me to educate them on these things when the data is readily available from objective and unbiased sources. Like, the number of times I have been asked to prove that feminism is necessary just makes me throw my hands up in despair. How do we go about advancing causes we believe in when there's strong, stubborn and seemingly intentional disbelief that these causes are even necessary? Is there a better way to do it than by simply one-by-one explaining it to each person who comes to us with disbelief?

I've started reading "the financial diet" regularly, and I really love one of the underlying theses of the blog, which to me seems to be that it is important to be financially knowledgeable because feminism and financial independence are linked. It's been changing the way I look at things. But here is my question, what do you think about prenuptial agreements? I've always thought that if you thought you needed one you probably shouldn't be marrying that person. But the financial diet has had a lot of blog posts where people mention it as a sort of security. I guess like insurance? And marriages do break up pretty regularly. Are prenuptial agreements just practical? Or are they a signal that you should rethink marrying this person?

Dear John and Hank, I have multiple chronic illnesses, both physical and mental, and I was wondering how you avoid defining yourselves unduly by these things? As a young person coming to the end of mandatory education and with my entire (albeit short) life stretching out in front of me, and these things affecting my daily life in a way that nothing else does and that sets me apart from my peers more than anything else, it is so easy to fall back on subconsciously viewing myself as "just sick."

I work at a job that pays well but it's a dead end. I want to change, do something i'll enjoy. But i have no idea what that is? I just know what I don't want to do? Where do I start ? How do i find my effing place in this world ?
