News!! (Patreon)

Hello everyone, it's Hank!

First I want to say I very much appreciate everyone being sad that Dear Hank and John disappeared for a while and also being very kind and not telling me that you are sad because that might make me sad (it probably would have!)

I have also missed the pod so, so much! And I can confirm that I missed it a lot because we just recorded an episode yesterday and I liked it! It was a blast! We made so many dumb jokes and if Mark Rober listens to it he's gonna have SUCH A GOOD VIDEO IDEA!!

So yes! We are coming back NEXT WEEK!! HOORAY! There will be dad jokes and mars news and AFC Wimbledon updates and an answer to exactly one listener question. We'll get more next time I promise.

But there will also be some updates about how Dear Hank and John will work in the future. One of those updates is that we're going to stop doing our fun little Patreon-only podcast. We'll talk a bunch about why we're changing things up in the pod, but basically, we want keep it simple and authentic and recording an extra podcast (even a very short one) was making that hard.

We are still going to be doing the patron-only livestreams because we really love those. It's a regular chance to check in with the community and hit y'all with ideas and thoughts and frustrations and hear back from you. It's so useful and also fun.

As you may or may not know, all of the money from this Patreon goes to Complexly to help support its work on SciShow and Crash Course and stuff. It seems like a good way to do it. We'll be thinking of ways to enrich this Patreon experience in the future, but for now we'll keep the $5 perk open and it will give you access to old episodes of TWIGS but there will be no new ones!
