I've been feeling like my brain has not been functioning the way it normally should. I feel like I've been losing my grasp on English -- the other day I stared at the work "polyp" 'cause it looked so strange to me, and the more I looked at it, the more unfamiliar it seemed.

Something that's difficult for me to reconcile with as I get older is that the body does indeed catch up to you. I remember in my early 20s how I was running marathons, writing pages and pages for my creative works for days on end without a second thought, and also actually keeping up with my friends and going out and being generally sociable. Nowadays I'd be lucky to do just one of those things without wearing myself out! And I'm not saying this out of pity because I know the reason for that is just because I'm a lot busier now in my older years compared to when I was fresh out of college and had less responsibilities.

I'm trying my best to not be a doomer about all of this because I am indeed being productive still. I'm doing things that I want to do, and I'm in a good place in my life all things considered. I just wish I had more time in the day to do even more of what I wanted. But, that's life.

In any case, this is a long-winded way of saying that I hope you're all remembering to take breaks and being nice to yourselves. Capitalism turns us all into unfeeling husks, which makes it all the more important for you to reach out to someone you care about every so often to ground yourself.
