En's Weekly Thoughts:

Is there someone out there that isn't sick? Literally everyone around me and everyone I know online is coughing and feverish and dealing with a very intense bout of flu. I hope you're all okay.

I was looking through some old messages from some year-old chatlogs with some friends because I needed to find a link to something, and it made me pause and reflect because of how much I feel like things have certainly changed since the beginning of the year. I feel different from who I was at the beginning of 2025 -- I suppose that's a good thing?

But it also made me happen upon a few instances where I'm talking to some friends about how they've been doing, how I'm doing, what's been going on in general. And it saddened me a little to see how much it seems like this year really was absolutely terrible for some of the people around me: friendships lost, opportunities gone, and people just drifting apart from one another with the passage of time. I've naturally gotten busier this past year because my job has been cracking down the whip, and I've also been pretty steadfast about my own personal projects. And so I just hardly ever noticed how much my close circle has so drastically warped over the years.

As usual, that's my way of signaling to you all to keep in close contact with your community. Don't silo yourself off and be cynical about yourself and other people.

I hope you're all doing well -- I gotta get back to work but I hope you enjoy the audio and remember to take a few deep breaths.
