Outside of all the absolute bullshit happening in the world, people seem more tense lately. A part of me always wants to tell people to stay apprised of the things that are going on so as not to fall into apathy and complacence, but another part of me always feels like doing something like that is just screaming into the void.

A coworker is messaging me about random life updates. He had a kid recently, and him and his wife are trying for another. I knew this dude when he was still single, and now he's about to have a full-fledged family of four. Thinking about the passage of time in terms of such concrete progressions makes me feel like I've just been staying in place all these years, even when I actively know that that's not true and that I myself have made all sorts of changes to my own life. I honestly don't think I'll get over that feeling of how my life is always changing but at the same time I'm staying in the same spot. It's an indescribable feeling that kind of makes me feel empty, but not necessarily in a bad way.

I have lessons to prepare for, books to read, and people to meet up with. I hope you're all hanging in there on this chilly Wednesday. Take care of yourselves and one another. Luv y'all.
