I wanted to let you all know that I finished setting up all of the renders for this week yesterday and they're cooking now. I have some real treats for you that I can't wait to share. I'm definitely keeping some promises. Unfortunately, it's going to take about another 18 hours for all the renders to bake so I'll have those up her tomorrow. I'm also off tomorrow and Monday with no plans other than to make content. That was difficult to do this week on account of my business trip, but I plan to be all caught up by tomorrow with most of next-week's material in the can by Monday. I learned so much, especially when it comes to fluid simulations and clothing removal.
I'm reminded of the first season of The Mandolorian. Din goes on these missions and upgrades his armor at the end of each one. That's what it feels like working in this space. For this upcoming week, I'm looking to add jiggle physics bones to a character model and test it out with a walking animation. After that, I want to try out Blender's Bendy Bones for hair physics. After that, I'm looking to get the Simplicage Blender add-on which will be essential for simulating the massaging of bre@sts and butts for upcoming 3DX scenes. I'll be happy if I can get full-on s.ex animations going on this year. I'll be getting into more cinematic effects after that like volumetrics (smoke and dust). I'm really looking forward to seeing how these add-ons translate into Unreal Engine for real-time rendering. I know for a fact that the spring bones do. Hopefully, everything else takes as well. If not, there's always Cycles.
With the current version of Blender, Cycles is actually rendering very fast, maybe about half the rate of EEVEE. I'm in the process of redoing the Lae'zel animation. I corrected the sneer in her nose and Cycles renders lighting so much better than even the vastly upgraded newest version of EEVEE. I'll be making use of generative music services to have something cool to go along with these clips. I couldn't believe how well the one I prompted for the Lae'zel video turned out. Ideally, it would be great to have a free one that runs locally on my computer like the Flux image generator. They do exist. There's even one by Meta, credit to Zuck, but it's not quite ready for prime time. I could wield it properly if I get clever enough.
In other news my beloved studio monitor speakers conked out on me. A relic of my older, more expensive hobby as an audio producer that almost became an occupation. Fortunately, a local speaker repair guy is 100% sure it's a simple repair. If not, I've got a new set of monitors picked out from a different company. It's a new model but the tech is 40 years old. All analogue, not micro-circuitry to crap out on me or short out at the slightest power surge. Audio is going to be a big part of what I do here. I'll be recording voice-overs and squishy foley effects for upcoming productions.
Thank you so much for your support. While I still have a full-time job, I'm full time here as well. I'm off to study some Filmora tutorials, followed by a rare family reunion. I'll be back late tonight to do some post-production.
