I promised I would do this, so let's do it:

Recommend movies in the comments you would like to make me watch and review, and I will add them to the Randomizer List.

RULES AND SUGGESTIONS

scroll through the comments to see if the movie you wanna recommend has already been suggested

you can suggest as many movies as you want

like comments to endorse that movie (if this method produces some clear winners, I will forego collecting them all into a poll and just go with most-liked suggestions)

consider making each recommendation a separate comment rather than a list, to facilitate people liking individual movies

you can like as many comments as you want

if I delete a comment, it is only because I have already seen the movie, and not because you made a bad suggestion (if it's clear I have to do a poll, I may not do this)

I'll collect recs until the comments slow down (maybe a week or so?) and then either pick the 3 most liked or run a poll if it seems necessary

the top 3 films will replace 3 films on the Randomizer List

the 3 films removed from the Randomizer list will - in keeping with brand but breaking from the original pitch - be chosen at random!!!

if there is something on the Randomizer List you desperately do not want taken off, you should tell me ASAP and maybe - maybe - I'll prioritize it this week (here are all the not-yet-watched films from the list)

Alright, you rascals. Let's see whatcha got for me!

The Old Ways. One of the best horror films I've ever watched.

GregD

Also, as someone that watched Stopmotion and did a podcast on it, be very interested in your thoughts, keep on list!

Eric C

Everything Everywhere All At Once

Rodrigo Deodoro

I hope it's available _somewhere_ with English subtitles; if not I'll hook you up: Estômago (2007)

Xudos

The Pinchcliffe Grand Prix

Zoe Storm

Forbidden City (2025 Italian kung-fu movie)

Fabian dornhege

Dave Made a Maze (2017) small gem, maybe hard(ish) to find

LemonSoiree

For movies that should stick around on the list, I thought One Night in Miami… was really lovely. Regina King is an absolute treasure.

Scenes Familiar

For the existing list Son of the White Mare is genuinely one of the most unique looking animated films I've ever seen so I would strongly recommend a watch , I'm gonna have to think on suggestions and check your letterboxed to avoid repeats.

Andy Campbell

Moonlight. Even though I hated the ending

TPRJones

The Milagro Beanfield War

Erich

Housebound 2014

Sophie

Columbus (2017) A beautiful film both visually and thematically, about growing up and leaving home, as well as appreciating the beauty in our everyday surroundings. Even if not likely to win in popular vote, hope somebody reading checks it out

UwUwizard

The Girl With All The Gifts

UwUwizard

I Saw The TV Glow (though I suspect you might have watched this already)

UwUwizard

Knightriders (1981)

Raquel

Rich Flu ! (I honestly enjoyed it a lot, despite its low rating)

Lucas Du Berger Deret

I think the Breadwinner, the battle of Algers and Turbokid should stay on the list.

Ken Robinson

Asako I & II (one film, that’s just the title)

Ken Robinson

The Young Girls of Rochefort

Thomas Dempsey

Night of the Demon (the 96 min. UK edit, not the 82 min. US "Curse of the Demon" cut)

EssayOfThoughts

Errementari: The Blacksmith and the Devil (2017)

Keziah Klouse

The Edukators/Die fetten Jahre sind vorbei (2004, preferably in the original German) (really recommend keeping this one!)

Keziah Klouse

Blindspotting (2018) (really recommend keeping this one!)

Keziah Klouse

Good Bye, Lenin! (2003, preferably in the original German)

George Toner

I'm envious and look forward to your review

Harold Kingsberg

Sex and the City 2 I'm not going to lie and say it's a good movie, because it is thoroughly execrable by any standard I can think of, but it is a _rich_ text and I have spent _years_ thinking about it

Ian Danskin

...I'm not reviewing every movie I've ever seen George

Practical Necromancy

Brother’s Keeper (1992) I don’t expect many people have seen it to vote for it because it’s an obscure documentary, but it’s a brilliant film. Amazing ambiguous character study.

Link Chowschne

The Immaculate Conception of Little Dizzle (2009)

George Toner

...I'm glad to hear it, Ian. That said, that is *a lot* of times to see a film. It just felt like it struck a chord, is all

Geomagnetic Anomaly

Woman at War (2018) Icelandic-Ukrainian film on ecoterrorism and love.

LemonSoiree

Moonlight, especially because I loved the ending

LemonSoiree

Portrait of a Lady on Fire

Joie Laney

Garfield: His Nine Lives

Joie Laney

The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas

Liam Thomas

The Workers Cup (2017) you must understand that it is a sports documentary. it's also maybe the most important sports documentary

Luke Beeman

It’s Such a Beautiful Day

Aischa

Omg I completely forgot about that movie. That is a short and sweet one, I liked it a lot!

Ace

Wicked (2024)

Lula Hiigel

Southland Tales (Cannes Cut if possible)

Lula Hiigel

What’s Up, Doc? (1972)

KSCHatch

This is one of the most underrated comedies ever made.

KSCHatch

Universal Language (2024) Canadian absurdist comedy set in Winnipeg. Absolutely *delightful*

KSCHatch

I would be sooooo curious about an Ian Danskin character analysis of this.

PC Escobar

Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence

PC Escobar

The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension

PC Escobar

Jacob's Ladder (1990)

LukeZaz

Cabin in the Woods (2011)

Molly Finley

Omg I’d be so curious what his thoughts are on this

Lula Hiigel

Same! I sometimes describe it to newcomers as our present day viewed through the lens of the most 2000’s-ass time traveler.

Lula Hiigel

Also, the time traveler is a huge Phillip K. Dick fan. Also, the cast features Buffy, The Rock, Stifler, and a who’s who of 90’s singers and comedy stars. Also, it’s about the apocalypse. Also—

aflatmajor

No Turning Back (2013, original title: Locke)

aflatmajor

City of God (2002, original title: Cidade de Deus)

aflatmajor

The Zone of Interest (2023)

aflatmajor

Eyes Wide Shut (1999)

Ian Danskin

I have not only already seen and reviewed The Zone of Interest, I made a video about it

Ian Danskin

ok it's partly because I was dating someone who worked for a movie theater and we'd just decide to see a movie sometimes, and it was one we both agreed was good

Andy Campbell

Ending up with your bullies and abusers is a weird message for gay men especially

George Toner

Partly At least you had that excuse, I inflicted it on my partner of the time after buying it for maybe a pound from a charity store not knowing what it was beyond the blurb on the box. They were British so they cried more than me for once. Good times

Havelock

Late Night With the Devil

Havelock

The Watermelon Woman

aflatmajor

Oops, my bad. I even watched your video already 😅

UwUwizard

f yeah lake mungo

UwUwizard

I remember spending SO long trying to find this movie online 15 years ago bc it was never localised to region 2 and I wanted to watch every link later movie

Link Chowschne

The Platform (2019) <-- the best metaphor for capitalism I've ever seen

Matt Gilbert

The Death of Stalin (sorry if this has already been covered, I deleted the YouTube app so I can’t check)

Thyrza Segal

Paterson. It was very graceful and peaceful ,about everything and nothing and still hella engaging Jim Jarmusch is the king. The visual alliteration was so lovely. Very good for a healthy mindset.
